Top 12 Beauty Products of 2012

So 2012 is coming to an end, so i thought I'd show you my top 12 favourite beauty products of 2012, the majority of these items are ones that Ive found myself using the most this year or ones that I've just really been loving. No doubt you'll have seen me mention these products many times on my blog, so i apologise in advance if I'm repeating myself at any point.

In no particular order...

1. Benefit Boiing Concealer in 01
Ive used this concealer for most of the year, and if you can spot it on the photo above its nearly all used up, I'm literally scraping the edges. I actually wasn't the biggest fan on this concealer at first but the more i used it the more I've grown to like it. It offers a good amount of coverage for my dark circles - although, it doesn't get rid of them fully, it does help me hide them away. Its really easy to blend out and this concealer has lasted me for almost 2 years so I've definitely got my monies worth.

2. Mac Eyeshadow in Satin Taupe
This is a shade i think the majority of bloggers and youtubers have, i love this eyeshadow so much and it is no stranger to my blog. I always find myself going to back to using this whether its all over the lid or just in the crease to add definition to the eye its such a gorgeous colour. Its really pigmented and really easy to blend. This is a staple item that i think everyone should have in their collection.

3. Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Candy Apple
I never noticed this shade until i saw Essiebutton wear it in one of her videos and then i found myself buying it. Its a gorgeous red shade but the beauty of this is that because its a lip butter, even though its really pigmented i feel a lot more comfortable wearing this during the day more so than i do a red lipstick because this isn't as harsh. Ive worn this so much since i bought it, i just love it - I'm sure most of you will have tried the Revlon Lip Butters so you'll know how lovely and moisturising to wear.

4. Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation in True Ivory
I was super impressed by this foundation when i first got it, it's a brilliant, affordable foundation and it has remained a firm favourite throughout the year - as you can see from the photo Ive almost used it up. It offers really great coverage, it blends out easy and it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. Read my review here

5. Mac Lipstick in Creme Cup
I won this in a giveaway and what i did without it beforehand i really don't know. It was a shade id never really thought about buying for myself but I'm so glad to have it in my collection. Its a perfect nude-pink shade, its not overly pink but its not so nude that it looks like you've just applied foundation to the lips. I wear this lipstick a lot especially during the day its just the daytime shade. I love Mac lipsticks, the formulation of them is really nice and i love the scent. Read my review here

6. Benefit Bella Bamba
I'm sure you're bored of me talking about this blush because I've mentioned it so many times on this blog - this is probably my all time favourite blush its such a lovely shade and the added highlight helps to add definition to your face. The shade does looks quite bright in the pan but it blends out nicely on the cheeks for a nice natural flush. I love this blush so much and its something i think everyone needs in there make-up collection.

7. Rimmel London Match Perfection Ultra Creamy Compact Powder in Ivory
This is another product that I've used all year round, when it comes to face powders I'm very loyal and i use the entire product up before i go onto the next one. I actually really like this powder - it buffs into the skin nicely without leaving a cakey finish and it sets my foundation really well. Similar to my concealer I'm literally scraping the edges of this powder - its a great product and something i would definitely repurchase.

8. Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Sin
This is possible my all time favourite eyeshadow shade. Its a gorgeous champagne pink and i love wearing it all over the lid, either alone or pairing it with another shade to add definition (usually satin taupe) It has brilliant pigmentation and blends out really well, I wear this so much for both during the day and for more dressy occasions it just the perfect shade for me.

9. Benefit They're Real Mascara
This mascara is incredible. I can't believe i waited for so long after it was released to try it. It really lengthens and adds volume to my lashes without it clumping, its actually amazing. Its going to take something amazing to beat this mascara because at the moment this is an holy grail item. Read my review here.
10. Collection 2000 Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner in Black
Ive tried many felt eyeliners but this one has definitely been my favourite so far - i use them a lot so I'm often having to repurchase them so for that reason i prefer them to be as cheap as possible. For £2.99 this eyeliner has really impressed me, it really pigmented and lasts for ages. It doesn't fade to a dull grey quickly either like a lot of eyeliners do. This has been my go to liner throughout the entire of 2012.
11. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero
I don't own many high end eyeliner pencils but this one came with a palette i got a while ago and i really like it. It literally does just 'glide on' so there is no tugging on your eye, it does smudge a bit but its not as much as other eyeliners I've tried and it's really pigmented too, it's a proper 'black' shade not faded like some are. This can be a bit stubborn to remove but other than that its a brilliant eyeliner.

12. Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Nude
This is a fairly new addition to my collection but its definitely a staple item. I use this most days in my waterline as it really opens up my eyes and gives the illusion that I'm more awake than i usually am. The formulation of these eyeliners are really nice too, they're creamy and just glide on.

also, Id consider the Maybelline Fit Me Foundation to be a favourite of 2012 but because it was such a late addition to my collection i felt i hadn't used it enough for it to be a 2012 favourite so i figured id just add a side note and say this would also be in the list :)

& that is my top 12 make-up favourites for 2012,
What have been your favourite products throughout 2012?

Review | Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter

I'd been really keen on trying the Korres Lip Butters especially the Wild Rose one, but i wasn't so keen on paying £7 for it. However, i bought a Korres Gift Set off WIMH - it should have been £10 but was emailed an offer for £5 off your first purchase so it was just an offer i couldn't refuse - the lip butter plus 3 extra products and £2 cheaper than its retail price.

Firstly, i want to apologise for being a naughty blogger and using it before i photographed it, i was just too excited. The formulation of this is nice and moisturising on the lips and it feels nice to wear - some lip products can be really horrible and sticky but this is nice. The remind me a lot of the Revlon Lip Butters in terms of formulation and how moisturising it feels in the lips.

As you can see from the swatch the lip butter doesn't come out as dark as it seems in the pot so if the shade scares you don't be fooled by it. Its actually more of a dark rosy shade - a pinky-red but its quite sheer on the lips as well so its not too full on (i hope that makes sense) and i really like wearing this on days i want colour on my lips but don't quite feel like wearing a full on lipstick. It doesn't last an awfully long time on the lips but i reapply it quite often throughout the day anyway so that doesn't bother me too much.

This is how it looks on! I have used this image before on my blog so I'm sorry for not taking another, i did have an image of just my lips but i hate those photos they always looks really weird and i just didn't like it enough to post it. I'm wearing the Korres Wild Rose Lip Butter in this photo and as you can see the colour is not too over the top but it adds a really lovely hint of colour to the lips.

I've used this quite a lot since i got it, i really like the lip butter and I'm definitely interested in trying out some of the other shades that are available too.

Have you tried a Korres Lip Butter? Thoughts?

Review | Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 115 Ivory

I can't believe that this is my 400th post  and it's going to be a review for you today! It feels like ages since i last did one and I'm super excited about this particular product, which is Maybelline's Fit Me Foundation.

I was so intrigued by this foundation when i first hear about it but i didn't really have any intention of buying it because i was so smitten by Rimmel's Wake Me Up Foundation. Originally, i was just going to trial the sample (which still hasn't turned up) because i was curious by the idea of a gel foundation but i found myself in town swatching the foundations and really like the formulation and i was really surprised to see that the 115 was a perfect match for my skin tone. Its the lightest shade and looking just at the bottle alone it looks like it would be really pale for me but it blended in perfectly and i just had to have for some reason a lot of shops don't stock this shade or were sold out of it, so i ended up having to order it online.

It arrived really quickly and the foundation did not disappoint - this shade is actually perfect for me and it blended it out perfectly, leaving my skin with a really natural and flawless finish to it. It also feels really nice to apply to the skin, its really smooth and it feels nice and light on the skin. I really don't like it when its so heavy you can literally feel the foundation on your skin.

Id say this medium coverage but its definitely buildable if you need more. I'm fairly lucky and only get the odd blemish so this is the ideal amount of coverage for me. I always set my foundation with powder so i can't comment on the longevity of it without powder but with powder it lasts me for the majority of the day, which is really good.

One thing i really like about these foundations is that the shades are made to suit the undertones of your skin (pinks/yellows) - there is a colour guide available as well to help you find the right shade and they also suggest which shades of the concealer and powder you should get depending on the shade of foundation you are matched too which i think its a really great idea.

This photo was taken on a night out the other week - I wanted to sure you how the foundation looks with the rest of my make up so you could get a better idea of it that just a swatch on my hand.

I'm so happy i decided to go an swatch this because i really like it. I think its one of the best drugstore foundations i have ever used and I think this might actually beat Rimmel London's Wake Me Up Foundation which i absolutely love. It retails for £7.99 (i think?) and I'm so happy i decided to buy this because i love how it makes my skin look.

Have you tried this?
Your thoughts?

My Secret Santa Gift

A while ago Beau Maquillage organised a Secret Santa amongst beauty bloggers - before i go any further i just want to say a massive well done on how well she's organised it and I'm so glad i decided to take part!

I was paired with Beth from Bethlovesbeauty  (her blog is awesome, go check it out)- i was actually really happy when i found out i  had been paired with Beth as i already followed her blog and i loved that the person i was buying for was someone whose blog i already supported.

Today i received my gift from her :)

My originally idea was to save it til Christmas Day to open but the big child in me just couldn't wait so i opened it, instead I've asked my sister to mind the presents until Christmas Day so although i know what they are I'm not going to use them until the big day itself!

Beth very kindly sent me:

Mac Satin Lipstick in Rebel
I almost died with excitement when i saw this, I have been dying to add this shade to my collection for ages, i have been pining over it for so long and i honestly can't believe she has got it for me. If you don't know what Rebel is like its a really gorgeous purple - berry shade and I'm super excited to wear it :)

Mac Fix+
Another product that i was really shocked to see, Ive never tried this before but I'm always hearing really great things about it so I'm really excited to try it out and see how it works for me

& also a tube of Smarties (nom!) and a lovely Christmas card. I will be doing reviews on these products so keep a look out for those if you want to know more about them both! Thank you so much Beth, i absolutely love my gift and i genuinely can't thank you enough!! :)

Hope you have a lovely Christmas!

Happy 1st Birthday

Image from google.
I'm back finally!
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for being patient with me over the past two weeks - they have literally been hell trying to get my project done, pretty much anything that could go wrong did. However i don't want to dwell on that too much because its over and now i just want to look forward to the next couple of weeks.

Also, Can you believe that my little blog is officially a year old today. I honestly don't know what i did without my blog before as it now plays a huge part of my life. I genuinely can't thank you enough for following and supporting my blog throughout this first year it really does mean a lot to me.

I don't want to ramble on too much but i have plenty of posts planned for over Christmas including multiple Christmas tags that I've come across as well as some reviews that are long overdue and I'm super excited to be able to spend some time blogging because I've really missed it these past two weeks.

I hope you all are doing well & again, THANK YOU!

Review | L'Oreal Paris Wild Ombre

So I've mentioned multiple times that Ive ombre-d my hair and I've been promising to do a post on the kit i used and how i found it. Now firstly, the images aren't the greatest because i did do my hair in the evening so the lighting wasn't the greatest - but they do the job, hopefully!

So in the kit:
So i had to borrow this image from as my image turned out really bad - so all credit to that blog and I've included a link in the caption (she's also done a post on this kit, so check hers out as well its a great post)

In the kit you get everything you need to dip dye your hair - the three bits you mix together which forms the dye (i don't have the correct names anymore), a comb to apply the product, gloves, a conditioner and of course the instructions - its very simple to do and the instructions are pretty clear to follow as well.

Hair Before the Dip Dye
Hair During the Dip Dye
My sister actually put this onto my hair but i think it would be easy to do alone, once applied you can leave it from 25 to 45mins( maximum!) its up to you the amount of time depending on your preference/how light you want the ends to be.

I left mine on for about 30mins(?) i didn't want mine to get really really light because i have dark hair i felt it might be a bit too extreme going from a really dark shade to a really light one - but it it your preference.

Hair After Dip Dye
Mine looks a little ginger on this image but its not actually as ginger as that looks - i actually really like how its turned out, i still have days where I'm a little unsure about what  think but I've wanted to dip dye my hair for ages so I'm glad i gave it ago.

If you're wanting to dip dye your hair I'd definitely recommend trying this particularly kit out - Ive found it really easy to use, and although my sister helped me out a lot with mine i imagine it would be really easy to do alone.

My hair when styled
This is how it looks when my hair is all done and styled, i really love how it looks when my hair is curled. I'm so happy that i decided to dip dye my hair and its something i would definitely recommend doing if you've been considering it. The only thing i was worried about was whether it would damage my hair because it's not in the greatest condition at the moment (im due a hair cut, but i HATE the hairdressers) but its actually not been that bad. I just make sure i condition the ends a lot when im washing my hair and that makes it really soft and easy to manage.

The L'Oreal Wild Ombre kit was really good and easy to use - I've never tried any others, nor do i actually know if there are any others ..but id definitely use this again.

Do you have dip dyed hair?
