Review | Smashbox Beauty To Go Palette

This is the Smashbox Beauty To Go Palette; it contains 12 eyeshadows, 4 cream liners and 1 eye primer. It's packaged in a 'leather looking' case, which i personally don't like i love it when packaging looks really creative and although its sleek looking i just don't like the packaging.

The inside however i do really like! I love the colour range of the shadows - really versatile range and i think there is something here for everyone. The layout of them reminds me a lot of Urban Decay palettes but these are numbered instead of having names.

You also get a look book filled with different eye looks, using various combinations of the eyeshadows in the palette. I'm debating whether to make a little blog series out of this, creating the looks mentioned and showing you guys - let me know if that is something you'd be interested in. As well, the books a clever little idea so people get more use out of the palette and helping people who might be less familiar with make-up be able to do more.

They very kindly give you a little eye primer too, now Ive not actually tried this yet so i can't really comment on it but I'm looking forward trying this out. So I'll have to get back to you on this!

Shades 1, 2, 3, 4
Shades 5, 6, 7, 8
Shades 9, 10, 11, 12
Shades 13, 14, 15, 16

The eyeshadows have good pigmentation a couple aren't as pigmented as others but they are very buildable, they blend easily and i found them pretty easy to work with. I believe this palette retails for about £35 but it can be found on Amazon and some discount beauty website for much cheaper, I'm liking using this palette and will definitely get a lot of use out of it.

Review | Lush Big Blue Bath Bomb

Hello everyone,
I had a lovely Lush bath using the Big Blue bath bomb - i really like this bath bomb, its not my favourite but it is one that i do enjoy using.

Lush says:"Peer over the side of the boat into the big blue. Watch the seaweed float by and feel the salt on your skin. Who needs a holiday when a bath can be this relaxing and refreshing?! Need a holiday but don’t have the time? A soak in this is the next best thing. Lavender oil to relax, lemon oil to clear the mind and seaweed and sea salt to soften the skin – set yourself adrift for hours."

Like all Lush products this has a lovely scent - its a very clean and refreshing scent, the scent doesn't linger on the skin like some bath bombs do but this did softens the skin and made it feel nice - i absolutely love the shade of blue it turns the bath water as well it reminds me of the ocean which i guess was their intention.

Those little black things you see poking out of the bath bomb and floating around the bath in the images is actually seaweed, now the first time i tried this bath bomb i had no idea that this happened i just picked it up because it was a bath bomb i hadn't tried, so when i felt these things floating round me i crapped myself thinking it was a load of spiders - i don't even know why, it was just the first thing i thought (I'm an idiot, i know) It does feel weird having them all floating round but its kind of nice and relaxing once you get used to it. Its not my favourite bath bomb, but it is one i enjoy and would use again.

Have you tried Lush's Big Blue bath bomb?

Review | Oasap Sweet Square Bowknot Embellished Handbag

I've been meaning to get a new bag for a while so when Oasap very kindly renewed my credits i decided to take advantage and get one. I decided on the Sweet Square Bowknot Embellished Handbag* at £24.05.

The lighting in this photo made it look lighter than it is. There are four colours available in this style of bag - orange, khaki, red and black. I had to narrow down the colours because i really wanted the one in the image which ended up being Khaki, slightly bizarre to me because Khaki is a green shade but this is far from green - this is a nude/beige colour.

The bag also comes with adjustable and detachable straps so you can alter them to the size you wish, or remove them altogether and make it a little handbag.

The inside lining is brown, and it comes with different compartments and pockets. Unfortunately its not as spacious as it looks which to me is one of the only negative things about this bag. Im one of those people whose bag resembles Mary Poppins' bag, i carry everything and anything with me and this just isnt capable of doing that. I do however still like this bag and will continue to use it.

Oasap also sent me a tote bag which was unexpected and really sweet. Now that i have a new bag i will definately get round to doing a 'What's In My Bag' post, it will be in a week or so because with the bag being new its very clean and i want to show you truthfully how my bag can sometimes be (within reason, of course.)

Review | Garnier Intensive 7 Day Challenge

Garnier were offering free trials to test out their Intensive 7 day Softening Lotion with Shea Butter (anyone could sign up to receive samples, however they are no longer doing so) - The lotion claims to offer daily hydration so intense that you notice the difference within 7 days.

The kit included two skin readers and 7 sachets of the products, basically the skin readers offer the chance for you to see the before and after of using the product. On clean skin before you apply any lotion, take skin reader one and press it against the shin.

This was the result of skin reader one for my shin, as you can see it shows the dryness in my skin and its not pleasant to look at. So i took the challenge and applied the lotion everyday for the next 7 days. The lotion itself i really like; it was easy to apply, blended in really nicely and had a really pleasant scent to it. Regardless of the results of the hydration claim i would actually buy this lotion because i really like how it was on my skin.

After 7 days of using, it was time to use the skin reader and see if it did actually live up to its promise. Again, making sure the skin was clean and it was two hours after using the lotion, place the skin reading in roughly the same place.

and this was the result...

As you can see when you compare skin reader 2 to the first one their is such a difference. I was actually really surprised to see this result i really didn't think that the skin readers would prove anything but i was obviously proved wrong.

I would have purchased this lotion regardless of the results because i really liked using it, but knowing its actually works makes it all that more desirable so as soon as I've used up the moisturisers I'm currently using - i will definitely be going for this.

Review | Lush Dragon's Egg Bath Ballistic

Credit to Starvioletbeauty
Hello everyone,
Firstly, sorry for the use of someone else photo for this post but my one broke which I'll show you the photo of as well but i wanted to show you it properly. The Dragon's Egg is my favourite bath bomb from Lush, i just love it!

I was gutted when i realised it had broke because obviously it still works okay, but i just don't think you get the full effect of it compared to when its whole. "Like an everlasting gobstopper, this ballistic keeps on revealing layer upon layer of surprises. It gives up its gifts in an unfolding drama, leaving you in a bath of molten gold. Along the way you will experience a firework display of colour, a fiery crackle of popping candy, a swirling landscape of creamy foam and a drift of paper dragon scales."

One thing i really like about this bath bomb is how long it lasts, usually bath bombs fizz out really quickly but this doesn't. After it starts to fizz, the white outer layer melts away and then changes to an orange shade that comes from the middle of the bath bomb, this then changes to a glittery gold. The glitter does get all over the bath but don't worry as it does wash away easy. Also, the glitter doesn't stick to the skin so you won't get out the bath looking like a disco ball.

Unfortunately, this bath bomb doesn't leave the bath water a nice colour in my opinion, it goes to an orange/gold kind of colour and i just don't like it, i don't think it looks as nice as the pink, purple or blue bath bombs do but i love the Dragon Egg bath bomb so it doesn't put me off repurchasing it.

This is the gold bubbles that is produced once its pretty much fizzed out, this photo is awful but i was trying to rush so i didn't drop my camera in the bath and i didn't give myself the chance to check the quality of it because i didn't want to miss out on the bath bomb by standing by to take photos.

I love the smell of this and it leaves me skin nice and soft. I believe this one is £3.15 and although it is quite pricey, i love it so i will definitely continue to buy this when i treat myself to goodies from Lush.

Review | YSL Shocking Mascara

This arrived very unexpectedly in the post this morning but i was so stoked when i saw it. Im sure by now you will have heard of the website whatsinmyhandbag each week they have a sample or a 'try' as they call it that you can register to get, there is no gurantee that you'll get the sample but they do offer some incredible products. The main purpose of the website it that you can see what's in people handbags as well as uploading your own.

Usually when you've been selected they email you to let you know but i only recieved my email a couple of hours after id the sample had come through the post hence why it was unexpected.

I really like how they've packaged this, the little sticker that holds the tissue paper has your full name on and i love the personal touch it gives (ive erased out my surname for obvious reasons), it also comes with a little leaflet/notecard aswell.

"Exaggerate your lashes with shocking volume from every angle! The amplified helix brush with a twisted cut, provides instant excess volume on the lashes, with effortless application. Shaped and styled for excess, this slim brush breaks the rules of volume, allowing for perfect control and precision, combined with a beautifully creamy formula to cover each lash evenly, for a thick and lustrous fringe."

I was a bit unsure about this at first because as soon as id applied it i didnt notice it offer much volume and considering it claims to off 'shocking volume' i was a bit annoyed. It does however lengthen them nicely, it's a nice mascara but it doesnt do anything that it claims so i wouldnt fork out the money for a full size.

Don't get me wrong its a really nice mascara and i will continue to use it but i was just expecting so much more from it. Ive heard so many things about the YSL mascaras and how good they are that i think i expected too much. So yeah, as a mascara it's great and i like how it makes my lashes look but i have had mascara that are from the high street which do the exact same.

Tried it? Opinions?

Car Boot Sale Haul #4 & Few Extra Purchases

I've decided to take a break from doing make-up mix ups, they will be back probably around about the time i go back to uni because its easier have set make-up to use but the novelty of it is wearing off a little bit and I'm finding myself getting a bit annoyed with it so I'm going to take a break from it for a couple of weeks then start it up again.
I do love doing the make-up mix ups but i don't want it to become more like a chore to do than the fun challenge its meant to be!

I went to the car boot sale yesterday and got up at the usually silly time of 6:20am and got there for about 7ish? It wasn't as good as other weeks Ive been and i got a bit annoyed with people there - a woman who was running a stall was really rude to another lady who was trying to haggle down the price of a dress or something. She had a really rude tone and stated that the price she said is final and she wasn't going to change it and i understand its a pain being haggled with to lower the priced but there was not any need for how rude she was, if i was the other lady id have thrown the item back at her and walked off. Needless to say i walked straight past her stall.

I actually only picked up four items today, i would have liked more but these were the only things that caught my eye.

Boots Natural Collection Body Spray in Dewberry
This smells lovely and i thought it'd be great to wear around the house or if I'm not going anywhere that really justifies using my more expensive perfumes. This was only 50p.

FCUK Pure Body Spray
Similar to the last body spray, another one to have for more everyday use. I love the scent of this, and again i only paid 50p for it.

Benefit It Stick
Again only 50p, Ive been intrigued to try this for ages so with it being so cheap i really don't care if i end up hating it because its better to have wasted only 50p than something like £14.50 (i may be wrong with that price) I'm looking forward to trying this, but I'm going to give it a good sharpen to remove the top layers whilst its second hand.

Clinique Colour Surge Eyeshadow Duo in Strawberry Fudge
Another 50p bargain, I'm really looking forward to trying this out because i think the colours are just gorgeous and will compliment each other really well.

That's all i got from the car boot sale, but i did nip round the shops as well and picked up a few things.

I didn't get anything too exciting but i thought you might be interested in seeing what they are because they are technically beauty related products.

Skin Therapy Eye Make Up Remover - 98p | Wilkinson
The Simple Eye Make Up Remover i was using it literally on its last legs so i decided to just pick up a cheap make up remover to put me on for a bit.

Nair Sensitive Hair Remover Cream - 99p | Pound Plus
I got this from a pound shop but it is available in a lot of other shops as well i.e. Bodycare, Wilkinson etc... My reason for buying this is pretty self explanatory so i won't insult your intelligence.

Pretty:Perfect Eye Roll On Concealer Medium Tint with Citrus - 79p | Savers
I was curious to see how well this worked for just 79p, I'm curious as to whether it can remove the awful dark circles that are accumulating under my eyes. I'll do a review on it as well, if people are interested?

So yeah, that is everything i got today!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend

Review | Lush Eau Roma Water

Hello everyone,
I'd never heard of Lush Eau Roma Water until Essiebutton mentioned it on her youtube channel and she was raving about it in one of her monthly favourites I was instantly intriqued. After a little trip to Lush a couple of weeks ago; i decided to try it out, i only got the smaller bottle (100g) and that was about £3.95. I didnt want to buy the bigger one just incase it didnt work for me and then it'd have just gone to waste.

Lush says: "Close your eyes tightly and spritz directly onto the face and leave to dry. Can be used for removing traces of cleansers and face products – but can also be used at any time of the day as a quick facial refresher or to cool the face."

I have used this everyday since i bought it and i can't praise it highly enough, it feels so refreshing on the skin and extremely hydrating. It's also nice to use throughout the day if you feel that you need to freshen up a little bit, i love this and it has definately become a staple part of my skincare routine. Since using it i have felt a difference in my skin it feels really hydrated and healthy.

It has rose water and lavendar in it; the rose water helps to reduce redness and calms the skin and the lavendar softens and balances sebum productions. I am so glad that i decided to try this out, i really don't know what i did without it beforehand. I cannot thank Essiebutton enough for introducing me to this wonder, i definitely plan to buy the full-size when i've used this one up!

Have you tried this?
