Mac Paint Pot in Painterly

Mac Paint Pot in Painterly

I've had my eye on the Mac Paint Pots for a while but just never got round to purchasing one, that was until a little while ago when i was lucky enough to win Clare's giveaway and won a Mac Paint Pot of my choice - i opted for Painterly, as that is the one I'd heard most about and the shade i felt id get most use out of.

The paint pots are really versatile products and can be used in a multitude of ways; as a base to intensify the shade and prolong the wear of the eyeshadow you apply above it or they can also be worn alone as an individual wash of colour on the lids. I've also read that depending on the shade you get you can also use it as an eyeliner or highlighter - personally I've only used this on my eyes so i can't comment on how well it works acting as an eyeliner or highlighter.

I opted for Painterly as i thought it would be the easiest shade to wear under a wide variety of eyeshadow shades but also because it'd be the ideal shade to even out and brighten up my eyelids. I actually really like this paint pot - it really is a great eyeshadow base, it intensifies the eyeshadow colour and helps make the eyeshadow last longer. As well as being an amazing base, I've really been enjoying wearing it alone on the days i just can't be bothered fussing with eyeshadow or i just want a really simple eye.

Painterly is a flesh toned shade and has a matte formula - which is another thing i really liked about it! I really like the packaging of these, they're a little screw top jars but its really sleek and simple! I'm so happy i finally got to try a paint pot out and i really think i picked the best shade for me, I've been using it non stop since i got it and think it will remain a staple item in my make-up bag for many years to come.

I definitely want to branch out and try more of the Mac Paint Pot shades - they retail for £14.50.
Have you tried any of the Mac Paint Pots?
