Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial & Apocaliptic

Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial & Apocaliptic

I'm quite late to the bandwagon with the Rimmel Apocalips (£5.99) - I'd been pining over them since their release however money was reserved for other things but as soon as i was in the airport and holiday mode was switched on i hit Boots and finally got my hands on two of them - The two shades i picked out were 'Celestial' and 'Apocaliptic'

I was a little bit unsure as to what i was going to think because id read millions of reviews of people raving about them and saying they were the best thing since sliced bread, but then i read a couple which weren't quite so positive and people say they were over hyped so i was curious as to which category id fall in.

The Rimmel Apocalips are essentially a lipstick and lipgloss all rolled into one; they have the pigmentation of a lipstick with the finish of a gloss. I really like the consistency of these, although it's quite thick they're creamy and they don't feel stick on the lips at all, in fact they feel really nice on and the colours apply opaque too.

Out of the two, I've been reaching for 'Celestial' the most because the mauvy pink shade makes its so easy to wear during the day and it's goes with most make up looks - however, that's not to say i don't love 'Apocaliptic' because i really do, its such a gorgeous bright and bold fuchsia colour and its a shade ill definitely be pulling out a lot over summer.

I found the wear of these lip lacquers pretty impressive - 'Celestial' isn't as long lasting but i reapply my lip products frequently throughout the day so this isn't too much of a problem, 'Apocaliptic' on the other hand has really good staying power, as the day goes on the colours not as prominent as the first application but it is still very much visible on the lip.

These lip lacquers have a bit of an interesting scent and one that i think won't be loved by many but i actually don't mind it. Overall, I'm really impressed with these lip lacquers and really want to try some more shades as they have such a lovely range of colours, I'm eyeing up 'Nova' and 'Galaxy' next - I'm definitely siding with the people that have hyped these up.

Have you tried the Rimmel Apocalips? What's your favourite shade?
