Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

I bought this from Sephora (it needs to come to the UK) whilst i was away in Rome - I'll hold my hands up and say i bought this quite impulsively, i actually went in with the intention of buying Naked Flushed Palette but my sister complained that i already had enough blush and id just bought another one, so i picked this up instead. Before i actually tried this out (i waited until id got back home) i came across a review of this foundation and it was quite negative saying that this foundation clung to the dry patches of her skin and emphasised them, so i was quite worried that id just wasted quite a bit of money on this.

The first time i tried it, i instantly noticed what she meant - i don't have dry skin but i do get a few dry patches and my skin was in awful condition from the travelling and being away that this foundation did me no favours and i almost wanted to cry, but i decided to stick with it and as my skin started to clear i found that it wasn't too bad - it still clung to the dry patches but i was determined to stick with it and make it work for me somehow.

Third time lucky?! I decided to try a primer out underneath and see if that would make any difference to it - the primer I've been using is the MUA Matte Perfect Primer and it applied so nicely, the primer made a nice base/barrier on the skin so it no longer clung to those little dry patches and actually became a nice wearable foundation. If you have really dry skin, i would avoid this like the plague - i only have a few dry patches and without the primer it really highlighted it.

I've been loving wearing this foundation since wearing it with the primer underneath, the shade matches me really well and i prefer using my Essence Make-up Sponge (a beauty blender style sponge) to blend this in as i think it look much better than when i used a brush with it, this sponge blends it in really nicely. The consistency isn't my favourite thing because it's quite runny and it unnerves me a little bit but i can look past that as i like the finish it gives to the skin - it's so lightweight and gives a really nice, natural finish to the skin. Id say the coverage is quite reasonable considering how light it feels on the skin, it's the perfect amount of coverage for me and i definitely think it's quite buildable for people who require more.

I was disappointed initially but after persisting with it and finding a way to work with it, I'm really loving using it and I'm glad i didn't waste my money on it.

Have you tried this foundation?

  1. Sometimes it does take a while to adjust to a new foundation, especially if your used to using another one. But I think this looks great on you :)

  2. I've always wanted to try this foundation, but I wasn't sure that it was worth the money. I think I'll try the Revlon version of this before trying this one, especially since I tend to have drier skin! xoxo
