Tarte To Go Kit

Tarte To Go Kit

I'm posting this much later than i normally would and I'm feeling rather tired today, so if i say anything that makes no sense then please forgive me but i have a review for you today - i got this Tarte To Go Kit in my US beauty swap earlier in the year (yes, I'm still working my way through testing everything) and i was pretty excited about this.  I've wanted to try Tarte for ages especially their Amazonian Clay blushes that I'm always hearing about so i was really chuffed when I'd seen Chelsea had sent me this - the primer is a favourite of hers too! The kit has a primer, a BB cream and a mascara - everything you need for a basic make-up look!

Tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12-hr Perfecting Primer
I do love me a good primer and this one is definitely up there with the few that I've tried. It reminds me a little bit of the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer - it has the same silicone (is that the word I'm looking for?) formula, it's very smooth to apply and it definitely smooths out the skin and gives a really nice even base to apply your make-up onto. Id say the Smashbox one has a more velvety feel to it when you apply it than the Tarte one has but i really like this and I've really been enjoying using it as a base to my make up.

Tarte Amazonian Clay BB Illuminating Moisturiser
This is probably my least favourite product out of the box - not because its a bad product but because the shade isn't quite right for me, i can make it work so that i can get away with it but it's just a little on the dark side for me and i don't enjoy wearing it as much because of that. I've also noticed that as time has gone on the consistency has started to go a little funny too. Minus that, the BB cream itself blends out really nicely into the skin and it feels comfortable to wear too, I've found this to be quite hit and miss and i think it has the potential to be a great product but the shade, the consistency change have let it down - i haven't really noticed the 'illuminating' aspect either!

Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara
This mascara has impressed me way more than i expected it too, i don't know why i didn't have high expectations from it but it has definitely proved me wrong anyway. It's such a good mascara and it adds some serious length to the lashes, even that photo doesn't do it justice - i almost had to double take when i first tried it out. It holds a curl in the lashes, it stays all day, it doesn't clump at all either even with applying multiple coats to it and its easy to remove at the end of the day. I'm really impressed with it.

I'm really happy i got this Tarte To Go kit because its given me the opportunity to try these three sample sized products from Tarte, even though the BB cream is a little disappointing the other two products have more than made up for it as they are excellent products; i also really love the packaging, there is something very natural and rainforest about the design, which i guess makes sense because a lot of the products have amazonian in the name!

It's a shame we can't get hold of Tarte here in the UK as i would definitely be interested in getting a full sized mascara and possibly the primer too and i also really want to try their blushes i mentioned earlier!

Have you tried anything from Tarte?
Natalie xx
