272. Here Comes the Bride | FOTD, OOTD & Photos

If you read yesterdays post, you'll know i went to my cousin's wedding on Friday - i wanted to do a post on it, sharing some photos of what i wore (officially my first OOTD so please be nice) the hotel room and also a couple of the wedding too. I took these photos on my Iphone as i didn't want to be carrying my big camera around - i wish i did because these photos haven't turned out all that great due to a couple of reasons; things like lighting, people moving too fast or me just being to shaky/slow and making it blur so I'm sorry about that but hey ho it's not exactly like i can go and retake them.

These photos aren't that great as we had a set of double doors where we could go outside and the sun was beaming through so I'm sorry but i really wanted to show you the room as it was lovely. The wedding took place in a really beautiful Hotel/Golf & Spa Resort in Knutsford, it was a very expensive/posh hotel and the room was really nice. The hotel itself was a really nice place and the staff were lovely, however i found it quite weird when they referred to me as mam or madam! It wasn't a cheap place to stay but it was worth it and id definitely stay there again, the room was so nice and the bed was insanely comfortable - i slept like a baby. The grounds of the hotel were really nice as well, it was just such a really picturesque place and i wish id had more time to have a good wonder round and explore the place.

Dress: Primark
Shoes: Peacocks
Bag: Borrowed off my Sister (no idea where she bought it)

I've never done an OOTD before and I'm fully aware that i don't have the most amazing figure but i wanted to share my outfit with you so please be nice haha. This dress was an absolute steal and i can't believe i got it from Primark, its such a gorgeous print and i just love the dress. It has a small cut out at the front and back but it was ok but the way its placed means i wasn't all on show or anything. It's a very girly dress as it had netting underneath that made it poof out a bit. I paired this dress with a simple pair of black heels and a black bag because i didnt want to overpower the print of the dress. I went very minimal with jewellery too; i wore black stud earrings, an infinity bracelt and some over the knuckle rings. For nails; i wore some false nails from Primark, I've had them a few times and they are the best ones I've ever used, Ive never needed to cut them down because they fit my nails perfectly and they are so natural looking that its not obvious I'm wearing false ones and they are the perfect length too, i hate those nails that make you look like you're wearing claws.

Face: Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation | Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer | Benefit Hello Flawless Powder* | Benefit Hoola Bronzer | NYX Blush in Summer Peach

Eyes: Urban Decay Naked Basics | Kiko Ultimate Pen Liner | Sephora Contour Eye Pencil in Tiramisu | Benefit They're Real Mascara

Lips: L'Oreal Caresse Lipstick in Rose Mademoiselle

I kept my make up quite simple, i forgot to get a photo that shows my make up much closer so this is the best I've got (I'm terrible, i know) The eye look i wore is the really similar to the one i wore in my Theatre Fotd post except i added more eyeliner to darken and define the eye. I also contoured my cheeks to make them try and appear more slimmer, I didn't want anything too over the top or anything that i was going to have to constantly check and fix because it was a long day and i didn't want to be worrying that anything had smudged etc... but i was really happy with how the make up turned out and it lasted me all day, i only freshened it up once so that was good!

 photo Untitled-1_zpsbaf322b6.jpg

I've not included many photos because they don't know about my blog and i don't want to upload loads of photos without permission - i also blurred out their surname on the chocolate just because i don't think its fair to include it, I'm not bothered about mine because if you follow me on Twitter or Pinterest you'll already know it - also how cute is the name card and chocolate, such a nice touch to find on the table (I've even brought them home as keepsakes!) It was a really beautiful wedding and the bride looked absolutely stunning, i just love her dress so much. I grew up with my cousin so it was really strange seeing him getting married (it's all so grown up) but it was so lovely to see how happy he was, he literally did not stop smiling and the smile on his face as the bride was walking towards him down the aisle was incredible he was literally beaming. I'm so grateful to have been able to share their special day and it was so clear to see just how much they love each other.

Dress: Primark
Blazer: H&M
Shoes: Primark

Seeing as i shared my outfit i wore for the wedding i thought id also show you the outfit i wore the next day. I really liked wearing this outfit it's quite dressed up and put together but it was really comfortable to wearing and I'm really loving wearing my blue blazer from H&M at the moment, it can finish an outfit really nicely.

I really hope you liked this post, i know the photos aren't brilliant but i really wanted to share some of it with you!
Hope you had a lovely weekend!

271. Monthly Favourites | September

 photo DSCF8608_zpsfca684d3.jpg

I'm doing my September favourite a couple of days earlier than i normally would but were still nearing the end of the month so it's still technically okay! I don't actually have that many favourites as I've literally been sticking to most of the same products but there are a couple of items that I've enjoyed using.

Dove Hair Therapy Leave-In Conditioning & Care Spray
This has been featured in so many people's blogs and vlogs so i was instantly intrigued to try it, i really like this, it makes my hair feel so soft. I mostly use this on my hair when its wet as it really helps to lock in the moisture but if my hair is feeling really dry and like it needs some extra moisture i will use it in between washes too. I really like how this makes my hair feel, its really affordable and it smells nice too!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory
I went on the hunt for a different concealer to try than Collection Lasting Perfection because to be quite blunt i just don't like it, i put a tweet out for some recommendations and a few people mentioned the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer so i decided to pick it up and so far i really like it. It covers my under eyes really well, blends easy and stays in place all day too. I was a bit worried using it on my blemishes what with it being 'wake me up' i thought it might highlight the area more but it actually doesn't, it covers it really well and i much prefer this to the collection one.

MUA Undressed Palette
I've had this for a quite a while now and it's become my everyday palette for work. I didn't want to use one of my more expensive high end ones just for work and i already had this in my collection so I've been using this a lot. This is a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked Palette; it's excellent quality, great pigmentation and really long lasting too and the best part is that it's super affordable.

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick in 107
So i jumped on the bandwagon and I'm so glad i did. I love it, it's quite a bold colour but it's a really gorgeous berry red shade and it's just perfect for the autumn/winter season and it's definitely going to be one I'll be reaching for. It has a kind of matte finish but it's really moisturising and is really long lasting too. I'm so happy i decided to pick this up, its just lovely.

Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch & Cherry Me
I wear these mostly for work; now if your looking for a lip balm that will really hydrate your lips id recommend looking elsewhere but these are really nice to add a pop of colour to the lips without being to over the top. Don't get me wrong these are really nice to wear and do feel nice on the lips but id say these are better for the colour payoff than for being a lip balm. They don't last very long on my lips but i reapply them frequently so i can live with that.

& a couple of non-beauty favourites:

 photo DSCF8614_zpsb53127fa.jpg

 photo DSCF8615_zpse909b3cd.jpg

Iphone & Panda Phone Case
A non beauty favourite here; i recently upgraded my phone, i got rid of my shoddy blackberry and upgraded to an Iphone. I only got an Iphone 4 because to be quite honest, i don't use my phone all that much and i couldn't justify increasing my bill by an absolute fortune just to get one of the newer models. I'm happy really with this and it works just fine me, i also finally have instagram - youralmostalice if you're interested in following - which makes me super happy because I've wanted it for ages but it was never available for blackberry. Also, just look at my phone case - it's so cute and it was a bargain at £1.99, its not the most practical cover especially for taking photos but i love it and for the time being it's fine for me!

Eyebrow Sugaring
This sounds really strange, but i went to have my eyebrows waxed because they really needed shaping and the place i went actually use a method called sugaring, it's one of the oldest methods and it's basically where they use like a paste and shape it using that (explained that one really well, didnt i?) but anyways, it was quite painful but i apparently have stubborn brows because mine started bleeding and the lady said she had never ever witnessed someones eyebrow bleed from it but i love the results and it's made filling in my eyebrows so much easier and they look so much better - i would definitely recommend trying it as i will definitely be going back to get it done again as i love my brows.

WeddingI went to my cousin's wedding yesterday and it was so beautiful it only felt right to include it in my monthly favourites, ive never been to a big wedding before and this was just lovely. Im so grateful to have been able to share their special day with them and to see two people so in love was just so nice - also, the hotel it was in and where we were staying was pretty darn nice!

What are some of your favourites for this month?

270. FOTD | 'Our House' at the Theatre

 photo DSCF8064_zps7962d039.jpg

 photo DSCF8070_zps04d7bb86.jpg

 photo DSCF8020_zpsb7f84bd5.jpg

Before i start; im actually scheduling this and tomorrows post as my cousin is getting married today or by the time this goes live he will be married - im very excited as ive never been to a proper big wedding before and were staying in a fancy hotel so it should be a lovely weekend. I also had my hair cut yesterday and had my fringe put back in, my hair feels in much better condition but i feel like shes cut my fringe a bit too short but it'll grow fairly quick anyways. (Also apologies for the lighting in the photos, these were taken around 6pm-ish)

Anyways, i went to my local theatre last night and watched 'Our House' as one of my very close friends was in it - it was a great show and im so proud of her! If you've never heard of Our House it's a musical that is based on the music off Madness, its an usual story that goes along with it but it was very enjoyable none the less! I thought i'd share with you the make-up that i wore:

To start i primed my face with 17 Photo Flawless Skin Primer and blended Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation in Shade 1.0 using a beauty blender as i find that achieves the best finish with this foundation, once that was finished i moved onto my brows and filled them in using 'ash brown' from the HD Brows 'Foxy' Kit and i set those in place using MUA Clear Mascara as brow gel.

I applied Mac Paint Pot in Painterly as my base and acheived my eye look using shades from Urban Decay Naked Basics; I started with 'Walk of Shame' and applied that all over the lid to give it a wash of colour, i then took 'Naked 2' and blended that into the crease, i also add a small amount of 'Faint' into the outer corner and took it under the eye a little to give some extra definition to the eye. I lined my eyes using Essence I Love Punk Jumbo Eyeliner Pen and applied Kiko 30 Days Daily Mascara to the lashes. To add some extra length i also applied a coat of Benefit They're Real Mascara on top of that.

Back to the base, i concealer my blemishes and under the eyes using Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory and set everything in place with Benefit Hello Flawless Custom Cover Up Face Powder in Gee, Im Swell Ivory* I wanted a little more definition in the face so i lightly contoured using Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer and highlighted the top of my cheekbones, down the middle of my nose and my cupids bow with YSL Touche Eclat. I added a hint of colour to the cheeks with Topshop Blush in Head Over Heels and set everything in place with Collection Fix Me Up spray.

I'd have loved to pair this with a really bold lip colour but due to the colour of my dress i felt like it would clash too much so i played it safe and wore Mac Lipstick in Creme Cup!

It was a really easy look to do and i really enjoyed wearing it!

L'Oreal Caresse Lipstick in Rebel Red | Mac Lipstick in Ruby Woo | Essence Stay Matte Lip Cream in Silky Red | Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick in 107 | Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Candy Apple | Misguided Lipsplash in Chilli Red
If your a regular on my blog you'll know I'm a big fan of a red lip, it may not be something i wear often but i wish i had the courage to wear it on an everyday basis as it's just the ultimate classic look - in my opinion of course. As autumn is approaching, red lips will start to appear a little more and i thought id share with you some of my favourite red lip products.

L'Oreal Caresse Lipsticks in Rebel Red
This isn't as bold as some of the others and it has a very sheer application which makes it a very wearable red for during the day which is perfect for people like me who get a little intimidated by a bright and bold red lip. This still offers a red lip but its not as bold, it tones it down. I love the packaging of these, they look quite luxurious and like they should cost more than they actually do.

Mac Lipstick in Ruby Woo
My only high end red lip product - this is proper ruby red and is super pigmented. This is a matte lipstick so it lasts on the lips for hours, however it is one of the products id recommend using with a lip liner and taking a lot of care to apply because one slip and you'll be left with a lovely stubborn red mark on your face. This is the red lipstick i normally turn to for a night out because i know it will still be in place hours later and it won't look stupid if i forget to reapply.

Essence Stay Matte Lip Cream in Silky Red
I reviewed this quite recently on my blog and admitted that I've never gotten much wear out of it but not because its not a good product because its such a bright shade (one day ill wear it out) this is a proper true red shade and even though it's a matte lip cream, it is really creamy and moisturising on the lips - you wouldn't actually think its a matte product because of how creamy it is. It's insanely pigmented and has excellent staying power.

Rimmel London Kate Moss Lipstick in 107
This is the newest addition to my red lip family and I'm in love. Its a lot darker then the usual shade of red i go for this is a more dark berry tone but its so pretty and I've even worn this out during the day - this is going to be my go to lip colour this season i can feel it. It's so nice to wear and despite being having a quite a matte finish it's really moisturising to wear. I love it!

Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in Candy Apple
This is quite similar to L'Oreal's Rebel Red - it has the same sheer application and it's super moisturising on the lips thanks to its lip butter formula. Like Rebel Red this is a wearable red, this is one of my favourite lip products to use during the day because it allows me to wear a red lip without feeling to on show. I've almost used all of this up and this is one of those products that has a 'holy grail' status and is a staple item in my make up collection.

Misguided Lipsplash in Chilli Red
I don't own many red lip glosses, in fact i think this might be one of the only ones i have. I'm very fussy about lipgloss which I've mentioned many times on my blog but this has a lovely consistency; it's not sticky and it's really nice to wear, it's not the most pigmented red lip product but it does add a lovely hint of red to the lips so its a great product to wear if you want a really subtle hint of red.

What are you favourite red lip products?

268. Guest Post | Get Healthy, Youthful-looking Skin by Consuming Vegetables

 photo colorful-vegetables-755879_zpseb38114d.jpg

Are you struggling to get a healthy, youthful-looking complexion? Before loading up on beauty and other skincare products that promise to give you “glowing and radiant-looking skin,” here’s what you should remember: healthy skin starts on the inside. So if you want to take care of your skin, make sure to load up on foods that are designed to cleanse your system and effectively improve your complexion.

Vegetables Are Your Skin’s Best Friend

Fresh, raw organic vegetables are among the best foods you can eat to keep your skin healthy. They are naturally high in both water and nutrients, including essential minerals, which not only promote your skin health, but also help improve other body functions.

An article published in Discovery Health lists red and green vegetables as some of the best foods that can help promote your skin health. Orange-red vegetables are full of beta-carotene, which converts to vitamin A in your body. Vitamin A can prevent cell damage and premature aging. Spinach and other green, leafy foods also contain a good amount of vitamin A.

However, keep in mind that cooking vegetables may destroy their valuable micro-nutrients. To maximize their nutritional content, you should juice or ferment your vegetables instead of cooking them.

The Benefits of Vegetable Juicing

Nearly every health authority recommends consuming more than five servings of vegetables and fruit per day, but very few people meet these requirements. Juicing is a simple and easy way to ensure that you get enough vegetables in your everyday diet. What’s more, it also:

  •  Helps you absorb most of the nutrients found in the vegetables. This is useful for people who have impaired digestion. Juicing helps “pre-digest” nutrients in vegetables, helping you to receive most of their benefits.
  • Allows you to consume vegetables in an efficient and time-saving manner. Not everyone has the luxury of preparing and eating fresh vegetable salads every day. By juicing your vegetables, you will be getting the same amount of nutrients as you would if you were to eat three platefuls of salad.
  • Helps you add a wider variety of vegetables in your diet. Eating the same salad every day means you’re consuming the same types of vegetables and getting the same nutrients. Not only does this violate the principle of regular food rotation, but it also increases your chance of developing a food allergy. When juicing your veggies, make sure that you use different varieties of fresh greens. Feel free to experiment and try out different combinations.
If you’re a beginner to juicing, you can start with fennel, celery, cucumbers, as these are the easiest to digest and tolerate. Eventually, you can move on to lettuce, endive, escarole, spinach, cabbage, bok choy, carrots, tomatoes, beets, and fennel. You can also add other ingredients to your vegetable juice, like spirulina, chlorella, coconut water, citrus fruits, and even cayenne pepper.

It’s also a good idea to eat the pulp, as it contains most of the fibre in vegetables. Try dressing it up with some Himalayan salt, melted raw organic butter, and other condiments that you may enjoy, like balsamic vinegar and crushed red peppers, to turn it into a delicious meal.

Fermenting Your Vegetables Increases Their Nutritional Value

Fermenting foods was originally done to prolong the shelf life of food, so that they would still be edible through cold, harsh winters. Today, fermented foods are known to help promote the growth of friendly intestinal bacteria, so you can maintain optimal digestion and other body processes.
Fermented foods, particularly vegetables, are very good chelators – they are capable of drawing out toxins and heavy metals from your body. This has a profound impact on your skin and your overall health.

In an ABC News article, Dr. Frank Lipman, an integrative physician and director of Eleven Eleven Wellness Center in New York City, explains the link between your gut and skin health: "If your gut's bacteria balance is unfavorable, the toxic bacteria can leak through microscopic holes in the wall of your gastrointestinal tract and travel throughout your body, including to your skin, causing inflammation that prevents the skin from functioning properly."

Aside from fermented vegetables, some of the best fermented foods are raw yogurt, kefir, kombucha, natto, and tempeh. Variety is key – the greater the variety of fermented you eat, the more types of beneficial microorganisms you will get.

Proper nutrition is one of the most important factors of being beautiful and healthy inside and out. Make sure you get enough vegetables every day to achieve radiantly beautiful skin.

266. Review | Creightons Argan Smooth Deep Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner

 photo DSCF8432_zps9343b29d.jpg

 photo DSCF8434_zps31ec63c0.jpg

A bit of a different review for you today, i don't often do hair care reviews not quite sure why though i think its because sometimes i don't always know what to say but today i wanted to share with you my latest discovery. I recently ran out of shampoo and conditioner and i wasn't sure which ones i wanted to try next, so whilst i made a choice i decided to pick up some cheap shampoo and conditioner to use in the meantime. Enter Creightons Argan Smooth Deep Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner at 99p each, its hardly breaking my bank balance and it isn't much to lose should i not like them.

These are infused with argan oil which we all know is really good for your hair, it's very moisturising and nourishing to hair so having a shampoo and a conditioner that has it built in - you can only be guaranteed its going to be doing something good for your hair. I've only used these a handful of times and I'm quite impressed, they lather up really nicely and they make my hair feel really clean. I feel like they make a difference to my hair, don't get me wrong they haven't fixed all my damaged ends - it'd take a bloody miracle or a haircut to sort those out, but they has made some difference and they leave my hair feeling so silky and soft! They also have a really pleasant scent to them as well, I'm not quite sure what it is but i like it - its not overpowering or anything its just pleasant.

For 99p each you really can't go wrong. They are bank balance friendly, they leave your hair really clean and silky smooth and they have argan oil in them - what more could you need? These are such a great and cheap option to go for whether your on a budget or like me you are just undecided and need something to use in the meantime.

Whats Shampoo & Conditioner would you recommend?

265. FOTD | Autumnal Make Up (High Street Products)

 photo DSCF8370_zps31ddd9bf.jpg

 photo DSCF8392_zps2b3c0073.jpg

I mentioned a little while ago that i was considering doing some autumn face of the days but do some that are highstreet products only, so i had a couple of errands to run yesterday and decided to give it a go. Ill be honest and say i wish the eye make up was a little more autumn looking but i didn't want to go to overboard whilst i went for a bold red lip.

To get this look i started by priming my face with Seventeen Photo Flawless Skin Primer and then i buffed my Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 115 Ivory into my skin using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush. I groomed my eyebrows and filled them in using Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pen in Brown/Black and set them in place with MUA Clear Mascara using it as a brow gel.

I primed my eyes with Essence I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base, to get the eye look I'm wearing i actually used three different palettes (you wouldn't think so, would you looking at the photos?) First, i took MUA 'Undressed' Palette and took 'Shade 1' applying in the inner corner and 3/4 across the eyelid, i patted a little of 'Shade 3' into the centre of the eye and moved onto my Sleek 'Oh So Special' Palette taking the shade 'Gateau' and applied that into the outer corner after blending it together lightly, i took 'Shade 9' from MUA 'Glamour Nights' Palette and blending that onto of 'Gateau', i only applied a very small amount of 'Shade 9' just to give a hint of red to the eye as it's quite a bright colour. From the same palette i took 'Shade 7' and used it to line my eyes, i also took it underneath the eye a little and blended it out to give it a very natural look. For mascara, i used Kiko 30 Days Daily Lash Treatment Mascara and to finish the eyes i lined my waterline with Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kajal Kohl in Nude to open the eyes up a little.

Going back to the base, i applied Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory under the eyes and took a little bit to cover the blemish on my chin and powdered my face using Vivo Compact Powder in Soft Vanilla. For the cheeks, i applied Sleek Blush in Flamingo - it's quite a vibrant look blush but it applies so lovely to the cheeks and gives you a natural rosy cheek.

To finish the look; i applied the infamous Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 107, I bought this especially for the Autumn season as it's a gorgeous berry red shade and i think this will be the perfect shade for Autumn.

I like this make-up look and the bold lip makes such a change to the usual fotds i do, i do wish it was more 'Autumn' looking but i like it anyways. I'm definitely going to do more of these and who knows maybe ill improve as the season progresses.

What products do you like to wear in Autumn?

262. Review | Essence Stay Matte Lip Creams

 photo DSCF6647_zps071af114.jpg

 photo DSCF6652_zpse10581ce.jpg

 photo DSCF3597_zps1b7d380d.jpg

It's becoming quite apparent to me that i am somewhat of a lip product junkie but not only that i have a habit of buying them in bright and bold colours which get worn less frequently than if i went for a more sensible everyday colour. I picked up these Essence Stay Matte Lip Creams whilst i was in Rome; similarly to the other bright and bold colours that i picked up these haven't been worn all that much, mostly just me trying them on around the house and debating whether i should wear them or not.

I'm actually quite surprised at the quality of these; even though they have a matte finish they have a creamy formula, its not drying but instead are quite moisturising on the lips and it's so pleasant to wear. They also have a really good colour pay off which is really impressive as these were really affordable - i can't remember the exact price of these but i know i paid less that 5euros for one.

 photo DSCF6655_zps72782244.jpg

 photo DSCF8312_zps1ecbd50a.jpg

Smooth Berry
This is a gorgeous colour; Its a very bold shade but it's a muted shade of pink so its not a 'bright' colour - i hope that description makes sense. It's a beautiful colour and although i own a lot of pinks in my collection i don't have any that are like this, most of them are either very natural or bright, none of them are muted like this one is and none of them are matte either.

 photo DSCF6660_zps9833f5f8.jpg

 photo DSCF8318_zps1909c2c1.jpg

Silky Red
This is true ruby red shade and it's so pretty, i seem to be drawn to red shades, one person does not need the amount of red lip products like i have - oh the woes of being a beauty addict. The only other matte red lip product i have is Mac Ruby Woo but i think i might actually prefer this one to that as this is much more moisturising to wear, although i do still love my Mac Lipstick.

I do really like these lip products, normally I'm not a big an of matte lipsticks as i can sometimes find them quite drying and just generally unflattering but these are a really nice formula even if they don't get worn half as much as they deserve i do really like them!

What's lipsticks have you been wearing lately?

What is going on with this hand? Really
 photo DSCF8346_zps40d3c073.jpg

This is the make up i wore yesterday, i had a couple of errands to run and then a shift at work so i kept my make-up very natural and simple.

I started by applying Osiris BB Cream in light all over the face, this is a new addition to my make-up collection and so far I'm really liking using it. I then groomed my eyebrows and filled in the brows using the shade 'Ash Brown' from the HD Brows Kit in Foxy and set them in place with MUA Clear Mascara, using it as a brow gel.

I primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion and created a very neutral eye look using MUA Undressed Eyeshadow Palette - i took 'Shade 1' and applied it all over the lid, and lightly patted 'Shade 2' on top to add a little bit of shimmer, i then used 'Shade 10' and pressed it into my lash line to create a very natural eyeliner - I've been loving wearing this kind of look lately as its so easy and natural to wear. After I'd finished with the eyeshadow i curled my lashes and applied Kiko 30 Days Daily Lash Treatment Mascara.

I concealed under my eyes using Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory and set it in place with Benefit Hello Flawless Custom Cover Up Face Powder in Gee, I'm Swell Ivory* and add a sweep of Nyx Blush in Summer Peach to the cheeks. To finish i applied Shaka Full Colour Lipgloss in Angel Rose to the lips and that's the look done!

I wanted the make-up look to be very simple and natural and i really like the outcome, i hope you do too!

259. Top Ten Summer Favourites | Beauty

 photo DSCF8332_zpsf1af03ab.jpg

Hello my dears,
Seeing as the Autumn weather has now approached and summer is leaving us behind i thought I'd share with my top ten favourite beauty products that I've loved using throughout the summer. I was originally just going to do a general summer favourites but i choose that many products that you would sat for hours reading it so I've narrowed it down to just ten, it wasn't easy but these have been my stand out products to use. These are in no particular order!

Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in Ivory*
I'm sure this is no surprise, I've used it in every single face of the day post I've done these past few months and its been my choice of foundation pretty much everyday since i got it, i just adore this foundation. It has a light coverage which is enough for me, but it is buildable, it feels really light on the skin and it really does give a really nice natural finish to the skin. The only negative thing about this foundation is that it doesn't have pump but other than that i could rave about this all day.

Collection Fix Me Up Setting Spray
I don't really like to use a setting spray but when we had the warmer weather and i was in work, i needed something that would keep my make up in place and this genuinely does work. I didn't think it would but on the days i used it, i noticed that my make up did not budge, even after 8 hour shifts. I don't enjoy the scent of this but it doesn't linger after you've sprayed so i can live with that.

Bourjois Colourburst Lip Crayon in Orange Punch
Orange is a shade that i normally steer clear of and i took a risk with this product but it definitely paid off. This was a great way to add a pop of colour to a make up look and it was so moisturising on the lips and the lasting power was really good too. This is quite a bold lip colour buts its not insanely bright, its very wearable. I really like these lip crayon and i am definitely going to invest in the other shades as i think they are brilliant.

Benefit Hello Flawless Custom Cover Up Powder in Gee, I'm Swell Ivory*
This is a great powder to set foundation with as its not to heavy or cakey but it gets rid of any shine that you may have. I also really like using this on really good skin days when i don't wear foundation (kinda rare lately) but it gives a little coverage so i felt on some days i could get away with wearing this.

Physicians Formula Happy Booster in Natural
Unfortunately this isn't available in the UK - usually when i post about it, i always get left comments off people asking where they can buy it - i don't know, i received it in a beauty swap i didn't with a blogger from the US. This was one of the only product i asked for and I'm so glad i did i love it, its a blush and bronzer combined - the bronzer adds warmth to the face whilst the blush enhances a radiant glow - This gives my skin such a gorgeous natural glow and it was just the perfect product for summer. The blush claims to make you happy, its infused with some natural ingredients that mimic the effect of endorphins that makes you happy - i don't know if this is true but the way it looks on my skin makes me happy!

Revlon Colour Burst Lip Butter in Candy Apple
I mention this so many times on my blog you must be bored of hearing about it, this is one of those products that i wear all year round. It's a gorgeous sheer red shade and because it's a lip butter and its a sheer application it makes it such a wearable red. It's an easier shade to wear daily because although its still a red lip its not as bold as a typical red lipstick. The lip butters have a really nice formula so their pleasant to wear and really moisturising on the lips too!

Mac Paint Pot in Painterly
I love to use this as an eyeshadow base as it works just like a primer, prolonging my eyeshadows and also making them a lot more vibrant but throughout the summer when i didn't fancy wearing any eyeshadow I'd sweep this all over the lid and wear it alone with liquid liner. It doesn't really add any colour to the lids but it evens out the skintone. Its really easy to blend and it stays in place too, i really like these Mac paint pots and i really want to try out more shades as I'm super impressed by this one.

Bourjois Delice De Poudre Bronzing Powder
This bronzer just makes me so happy. I love the idea of contouring my face and although i always give it a try I've never reached the results I've been happy with until i tried this. This is so natural on the skin, it doesn't look muddy or really obvious but i can still visibly see were I've contoured. I can understand why this bronzer is well loved amongst bloggers and vloggers as it is now a staple item in my collection. I love the smell of it too, i wouldn't say its chocolate it smells more like holiday/coconut kind of smell and its lovely.

Shaka Lipgloss in Angel Rose
Lipgloss isn't an item i reach for often as I'm quite fussy with lipgloss but this one just ticks all the right boxes  - it's creamy, its not sticky, its comfortable to wear on the lips and its a gorgeous colour too. This colour in particular is a gorgeous pink shade and it was a lovely shade to wear in the summer because its not too in your face but adds a nice hint of colour to the lips.

Essie Nail Polish in Bikini So Teeny
My favourite couldn't be complete without adding a nail polish into the mix; this one completely surprised me because the first Essie nail polish i used i really disliked the formulation, it was streaky and i just wasn't impressed but this was completely different. Its a pale blue shade that leans into the lavendar style, blue is normally a shade i steer clear off on my nails because i feel it looks kind of alien on me but this one doesn't and I've really enjoying wearing it over the summer. You know its a good un' because its one that i returned to multiple times in a short period of time and usually that doesn't happen, this becomes opaque after two coats and it does last for a few days before chipping, more depending on your choice of top coat.

What products did you reach for the most this summer?

258. Review | NSPA Fresh Sweet Raspberry Shower Gel & Body Butter

 photo DSCF8244_zps554b28c8.jpg

I'm not a very happy bunny today if I'm being honest. Firstly, Sunday is the one day a week i have a definite day off so its the day i like to dedicate to taking blog photos and today i planned to get all this weeks sorted so i can just focus on writing the posts. Now i love Autumn and I'm so happy its here but it was so dull at 2pm that it made getting decent photos really difficult i mean just look at this one - i had to light candles so i could pretend i was going for some kind of cosy ambiance, i can't be dealing with it being so dull on the only day i can really get my blog photos done, not impressed - sort it out Zeus (he's in charge of weather, right?) Also, today's post was going to be a post about the products I've loved wearing over the summer and i had it all written up and just needed to edit the photo and whack it in the post but dimwit here managed to delete it so I'm going to have to try and retake it in the morning before work and get it up tomorrow instead so yeah, I'm not impressed but tantrum over, lets get on with the post!

I've heard alot about Nspa Lately and whilst i was in Asda a few weeks ago i saw that some of their bath products were on offer 2 for £4 so i decided to pick some up. It was perfect timing really because id ran out of shower gel and the body lotion i was using just wasn't quite doing it for me - there was a bunch of different scents/flavours in the range and they all smelled divine but the one i was most drawn to was the Fresh Sweet Raspberry. Oh my, these are the nicest smelling bath products i think I've ever had, its so amazing and fruity and its like my perfect scent. Literally, i could just sit there and smell these they are so good and it lasts too, i used them in my shower earlier and i can still smell it on me.

The Nspa Fresh Raspberry Shower & Bath Gel is a quite a big bottle (about 500ml) and this lathers up quite nicely so you don't need to use a lot of to feel like it makes a difference which i really like because i feel with other more cheaper shower gels i go through them so quickly. I really enjoy using this in the shower, its pleasant to use and as I've already mentioned it smells incredible. I wouldn't say it softens the skin but it does make you feel really clean and its also a versatile product because as well as using it as a shower gel you can use it as a bubble bath - I've not done this yet but i definitely will be, can you imagine how heavenly it'll be just soaking in this scent whilst relaxing, have i mentioned how nice it smells?

I also got the Nspa Fresh Raspberry Body Butter because the body lotion i was using just wasn't cutting it and because we are now heading into the more colder months i wanted something that was much more thick and more hydrating on my skin because i find the cold weather can make my skin quite dry. I love the consistency because its really thick and creamy and it's really pleasant to use, it soaks into the skin really nicely and leaves it feeling really soft and moisturised - so far i don't think its the most hydrating body butter but the true test will come when it starts to get colder and my skin starts to get dry but regardless i do really like this. Again, the smell is amazing and it's such a nice product to use.

I really like these and so far I'm pretty impressed by Nspa i definitely hope to try more of their products at some point.
Have you tried Nspa?

Hello dears,
I'm on a roll with these face of the day posts, don't you think? I really hope you're enjoying them as much as me! This is the make-up i wore yesterday whilst i went into town, i kept my eyes neutral and went for a more of a bright lip in the hope that it would distract people from noticing the collection of spots that have gathered on my chin - didn't not appreciate waking up to those.

To start i primed my face with Seventeen Photo Flawless Skin Primer and pre-concealed my horrendous chin with Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer - i took the more yellow concealer to try and counteract the redness of the spots, it worked pretty well! I then went in with my Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation in Ivory* - I'm really loving this foundation and I've used it non stop since i won it.

I groomed my brows and then filled them in taking the shade 'Ash Brown' from the HD Brows Foxy Kit and setting them in place using the MUA Clear Mascara as a brow gel. Moving onto the eyes i primed my lids with Urban Decay Primer Potion and applied Collection Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencil in Vintage Rose all over the lids, blending out to create all over lid colour. To add a little definition to my eyes, I took 'Night Plum' which is the darkest berry brown shade from the Clinique Colour Surge Trio and pressed it into my lash line and i pressed MUA Eyeshadow in Shade 11 - Pearl into the lash line to add a very subtle shimmer. To give the impression of fuller lashes i tightlined my eyes using Sephora 12 Hour Contour Eye Pencil in Tiramisu, I then curled my lashes and applied Kiko 30 Days Daily Treatment Mascara and moved back to work on my base.

I concealed under the eyes using Benefit Erase Paste and set the concealer and foundation in place using Benefit Hello Flawless Custom Cover Up Powder in Gee, I'm Swell Ivory* and to finish i added a sweep of Benefit Dandelion Blush to the cheeks to add some subtle colour to the face. For lips i wore Kiko Smart Lipstick in 904 (Strawberry Pink), quite a bright colour compared to normal but i wanted something that would offer a distraction to mountain range on my chin and i think it worked a little.

I'm also thinking about maybe doing some Autumnal face of the days and doing ones that use just high street products and one that's maybe just high end or something just to add a little variation to these posts.

What do you think?

254. Review | Kiko Smart Lipsticks

Hello there,
I got these lipsticks from Rome when i went way back in April and I've been meaning to review them for ages but its better late than never eh? I loved both of these shades when i picked them up in the Kiko store and it was only when i got back to my hotel that i realised just how similar they are, i even had to double check that i hadn't picked up the same shade but there is differences in them and ill wear them anyways so its not like they'll go to waste.

These lipsticks have quite a creamy texture; they almost feel kind of buttery and lip balm like, as you can see in the photos they are pretty pigmented and they wear really nicely on the lips and they're really long lasting too. I'm quite surprised by the quality of these lipsticks as they're quite cheap too - i paid in euros so i don't know exactly how much they were but on the UK website that Kiko have they are £3.90 so they're quite a bargain.

The packaging is the simple black casing which i really like, i just think it looks really sleek and give it a more luxurious and sophisticated feel to the product, and i definitely think it makes it look a lot more expensive than it actually is.

The one issue i have with Kiko is that they name their shades with numbers on the product, but on the website they do give an actual shade name too - i just wish they'd put it the product because i get mixed up with numbers.

904 - Strawberry Pink
This is the lighter shade out of the two - it's quite a bright pink and this is my favourite lipstick out of the two because its quite a different pink shade to any i own. Most of the bright pink shades i own usually lean more towards a fuchsia kind of shade but this doesn't and i think this it so pretty and such a nice addition to my collection.

912 - Crimson Red
This is quite similar to the shade above but it has more of a red tone to it - i don't think the name really suits it because despite the red tone, it is quite clearly more pink than a 'Crimson Red' but regardless of that this is also a really pretty colour - i think this is a colour i would be able to wear throughout autumn and winter as well as summer because its more of a bold colour than a really bright one - if that makes any sense.

Although these are quite similar colours, i know ill get a lot of use out of them both because they do have differences that make the unique to each other. I'm quite impressed with the quality of the Smart Lipsticks, for such a cheap price i wouldn't have expected them to be as good as they are. Kiko isn't available in stores in the UK as far as I'm aware but they do have a website if you'd like to check out their Smart Lipsticks. Kiko is a fantastic, good quality and affordable brand and it is yet to disappoint!

Have you tried anything from Kiko?

Hey there!
Did everyone have a nice weekend? Mine wasn't too exciting, i was working Saturday and spent Sunday chilling out and watching Once Upon a Time, I've become a little hooked on it lately and I'm so close to finishing Season two!

Onto today's post, i have a review of the Collection Work the Colour Eyeshadow Pencils - i don't know what it is about eyeshadow pencils but I'm just lured in by the easiness of sweeping a pencil eyeshadow over the eyes and it being done. I love doing my make-up, its one of my favourite parts of the day but i also love products that are really easy to use and yet really make a difference.

I picked up the shade Vintage Blush, it's a really pretty champagne pink colour and it kind of reminds me of Urban Decay 'Sin' eyeshadow, except id say its a little more peach toned. Collection have a lovely selection of shades in their eyeshadow pencils, i think there is 6 in total and id love to try more. I chose Vintage Blush because i wanted a colour that would be neutral and something that i could wear alone.

I hope these photos give you a good idea of how it looks on, i did have a couple of photos of a close up of my eye but i didn't like them enough to include them so hopefully these will be enough, i added a shimmery brown eyeshadow from MUA and lined my eyes with it to give a more edgy kind of look - i quite like how it turned out, what do you think?

These eyeshadow pencils have quite decent colour payoff and they are really easy to apply too. You have to be quick to blend it out because it dries really quickly and if you don't blend it, it can be a little patchy but once blended it looks really nice. Once they have dried in place they do not budge at all, i like to wear this to work as its really natural and it stays in place all day - i wore it recently for an 8 hour shift and it looked exactly as it did when id applied it that morning.

It's really affordable at £3.19 and although it does have a few flaws i.e. it dries way too quickly, i think it's a fantastic product and I'm definitely interested in trying out other shades as i love how quick and easy it is to wear this product. These are perfect to wear for quick make up looks or for long days where you won't have enough time to do touch ups.

I really like these and i will definitely be looking at getting some more shades!
Do you like eyeshadow pencils?
