334. Monthly Favourites | November

 photo DSCF9182_zps1c5fc124.jpg

So it's that time of month again where i share with you some products that I've been loving for the month of November, I've actually got quite a few products this month as Ive been trying out more things as well as just rediscovering products that i already own.

Enrapture Encode Totem Styler
I'm going to be doing a full review on this soon as I'm so impressed with it. I love curling my hair and with this it literally takes me 15-20mins to do, its so versatile thanks to the changeable temperature, it determines how tight or loose your curls will be. Its so easy to use and i love it so much. These are normally around the £59.99 mark, i did get this for £17.99 thanks to Home Bargains but i would genuinely pay the £59.99 for it as it's an incredible hair product.

John Frieda Full Repair Sheer Ends Mist*
This is one of those products that isn't a necessity to have but it is a nice product all the same. The ends of my hair often look bitty and just not very nice (especially when i curl it) and a spritz of this helps disguise them a little bit and adds a hint of shine to the hair too.

L'Oreal Skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil
Im kind of a lazy girl when it comes to removing my make-up; its boring and it takes too long but with this cleansing oil it takes a matter of seconds to remove it, even the really stubborns bits like mascara its so easy. I honestly don't know what i did without this in my routine because its so quick and easy and it really does remove every last bit of make up.

Q Awe The Fine Fragrance Body Spray*
I love using body sprays as they are really quick and easy to take with you on the go, i use them mostly for work as i like to spray myself multiple times throughout the day and i don't want to waste my perfumes for it. This has a really nice mature scent, its not like the usual girly fruit scents i go for, this is more floral and musky but its a really nice scent. This is not a product i probably would have picked up myself but I'm so glad I've had the opportunity to try it as i really like it.

Benefit They're Real Mascara
This is no stranger to my favourites and I've fallen back in love with this mascara - i had a little dabble with some others but i couldn't stay away from this one. It just lengthens my lashes so much and the little ball on the end is great for separating them so there are no clumps, i just love how this mascara makes my eyelashes look and even though its a little pricey at £18 its worth every penny.

Rose & Co Apothecary Rose Salve
This is one of those all round products that you can use on your lips, dry patches, brows, lashes etc... i use it mostly on my lips and I've really been enjoying using it, it's got quite a strong rose scent which isn't normally a scent id opt for but its actually growing on me. It's really nice to wear and it leaves my lips smooth and soft.

Shaka Blush in Scarlett
This is the perfect autumnal blush; it's a lovely dark pink and it gives a really nice flush of colour in the cheeks. I like to build this colour up to avoid looking like a ragdoll but for quite a cheap blush it does have good colour pay off and it lasts on me most of the day.

MUA 'Ever After' Matte Eyeshadow Palette
This is a bit of a funny one because in my review of this i said that i thought this is one of MUA weaker palettes and i still agree with that but i do actually like this palette all the same. Even though pigmentation is quite weak the colours are quite buildable and I've been able to create a number of make up looks with this palette and I've really been enjoying using it, its practical for work because the colours are very neutral but the you can build up the colours and use the darker ones to create more intense eye looks too.

and those are my monthly favourites, I've been loving trying some new products this month as well as rediscovering old ones!
What are some of your favourite products?

333. How I'd Spend My Weekend in London Feat. The O2, London Dungeons, Oxford Street & More...

 photo large_zps7bbd8497.jpg

I don't know about you but i absolutely love London and it's been quite a while since i was last there and I'm pining for a visit and for all the wonderful places i want to go see. Whenever i go to London i tend to go into tourist mode; yeah, I'm THAT weirdo with the camera hanging from her neck snapping away pictures of anything and everything. I can't help it, i just get really over excited and i need to remember everything, even that weird little cat that's hanging on the street corner (yeah, I'm that tourist) When i do go London i tend to only go overnight, or two nights at the most because its not the cheapest place to stay so i like to cram in as much as possible and take advantage of my time there! So i thought I'd share some of the places and things id love/want to do!

London Dungeons
I'm really fascinated by history; in particular English History (especially, the Tudors) and I'm actually really surprised at myself that I've not been here yet but this would definitely be on my list of places to go because although it's supposed to be kind of creepy, i just think it would be so fascinating. There are little theatrical shows you can see there as well as absorbing lots of history i just think it's a must see!

Madame Tussauds
This is somewhere I've been before and it was amazing but its been a couple of years since i last went so i would love to go again and see some of the newer waxworks (*coughs* 1D), I really enjoyed it last time and its seriously amazing how life like the wax works are and its a great way to get up and close with the celebs that were probably never gonna meet!

London Eye
This is one of the attractions ill probably never get to go on; as every person i know just aren't all that interested in going on it because it's quite expensive but it also takes something ridiculous like 1-2 hours to go all the way around but i just think it's be such an amazing way to take in the views of London and imagine those photos, i also think it'd be a great way to just sit back and watch the city go by.

The O2
I've never been to The O2 before as its not local to me but i would love to go and see a show there as i imagine the atmosphere would be incredible, it's one of those places that playing there is such a big deal so i definitely get tickets to see one of my favourite bands/artists or comedians - Id definitely try and get my hands on some Miranda Hart Tickets or Russell Howard Tickets as i just think they are hilarious and never fails to have me in tears laughing so i know id be guaranteed a good night!

You can't go to London and not go shopping; its the law! Where ever you choose to go; strolling down Oxford Street which is the longest street ever, Regent Street which is now home to a two floor Kiko Store (droolz), Camden Market, Harrods, Hamleys the best toy store ever or all the amazing side streets, high streets and designer streets filled with endless amounts of shops theres something for everyone!

West End Show
I really enjoy going to the Theatre anywhere and any kind of show; i just love the whole experience and atmosphere, in the west end that experience and that atmosphere is amplified to insane levels. I leave with the biggest grin on my face and burning desire to get on the stage - it's magic, so a west end show would definitely feature somewhere on my itinerary - Les Mis, Wicked, The Lion King there are so many options of shows to see.

Harry Potter Tour
The fact I've not been to seen this yet, makes me want to cry so much. It's the ideal place to keep Harry Potter alive for a little bit longer, i don't know about you but I'm still having withdrawals so this would ease that a little bit and it'd make the tourist in me scream with excitement. Id want a wand, a time turner necklace, some of their sweets and i wouldn't be leaving without trying a butterbeer either!

Other Tourist things; Buckingham Palace, Downing Street, West Minister Abbey, Abbey Road etc...
There's so many things to do in London that you will never be bored, so anytime that I'd have left after all my many plans - id squeeze in some of the typical touristy places, even after seeing them multiple times before they never get boring to see. Especially, if you are snap happy like me!

How would you spend your weekend in London?
Who you go and see at the O2?

330. Haul | YSL, Rimmel, Lush & More

 photo DSCF9162_zpsdc92e6bc.jpg

I've done a little bit of shopping lately; some of which i did in Liverpool which i did mention in yesterdays post but i also picked up a couple of things too so i thought a haul post was definitely in order and besides i love seeing haul posts and videos and seeing what everyones been buying lately! Firstly, just a quick disclaimer - I'm not bragging by showing these and secondly; I'm sorry the photo quality isn't that great, I'm having a serious nightmare with lighting so i just had to pick the best of a bad bunch!

 photo DSCF9105_zpscc390dde.jpg

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush | £5.57, Myprettyfaceplace.com
I've been reading reviews and hearing so much about this brush that my curiosity finally got the better of me. I love my buffing brush by Real Techniques but I'm very excited to see how this compares and whether i prefer this over it or not.

Real Techniques Shading Brush | £3.70, Myprettyfaceplace.com
I'm still contemplating whether to get the starter kit by Real Techniques so i figured what better way to see what they're like than by getting this singular brush - i love shading brushes and plus having extra ones means that I'll always have a spare clean one when i can't be bothered cleaning them right away.

 photo DSCF9122_zps43d8b817.jpg

Garnier Fructis Style Big Volume Heat Protectant | £1.49, Home Bargains
I ran out of my Tresemme one and decided to pick this one up to give it a try, it's nice and cheap and smells lovely so hopefully it'll be just as good.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner | £4.98, Savers
I'm just not getting a long well with my Essence eyeliner, i find myself not wanting to use it so i decided to try this Rimmel one to see what it's like - I've used it a few times now and so far so good!

Mitchum Advanced Control Deodorant Spray & Roll On | 2 for £4, Boots
I'm getting really sick of my other deodorant, i just feel like it isn't keeping me as fresh as id like to be so i decided to look at some other options and pay a little bit extra. Normally i only use sprays but I've decided I'm going to try the roll on as well as the spray to see if that's actually any better - I'm going to do a more in depth post with a spray vs roll on kind of thing.

YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation in B30 | £37, Debenhams
By far my favourite and most exciting purchase; very expensive, yes but just look at that bottle it's just beautiful. I really wanted to get a new foundation for autumn/winter and after doing a bit of research this was the one that i really liked the sound of and seemed to get really good reviews. I've only used this once and so far I'm pretty impressed by it and i can't wait to use it some more and i will be doing a full review on this product after I've spent a bit of time testing it out.

 photo DSCF9086_zps4f42790d.jpg

It's been so long since I've been to Lush that I'm pretty proud of myself at how restrained i was because when i used to go ages ago i used to spend about £40 each time so i was pretty proud of myself.

Dragon's Egg Bath Ballistic | £3.25
This is my favourite bath bomb from Lush and its the one that i always repurchase whenever i go into Lush and I'm super excited to use it because it's been absolutely ages since i last had one. It smells incredible and its just an awesome bath bomb.

Melting Snowman Bath Melt | £2.25
I've never tried this before but he was so cute and it sounds really nice too. Ive never tried one of their bath melts so I'm looking forward to seeing what it's like. Ive seen this featured quite a few times on blogs and vlogs so i really hope it doesn't disappoint.

Cinders Bath Ballistic | £2.45
I think Ive used this one before too but i can't remember but it smells really nice and again it's another bath bomb that gets a lot of rave reviews so i couldn't pass it up.

Tea Tree Toner Water | £3.95
I bought this after reading Beth's post on it; I'm constantly suffering from spots on my chin and I'm getting a bit sick of it and after reading Beth's post this sounded like just the thing i need. So I'm looking forward to trying it out and hopefully it will help me out!

 photo DSCF9124_zpsc902325e.jpg

Maybelline Brow Drama in Dark Brown | £4.99, Superdrug
I bought this mostly out of curiosity, I've really gotten into doing my eyebrows lately and this really intrigued me so i decided to pick it up. I'm really looking forward to try this out and seeing how it differs to using powder or to using a brow gel.

Bourjois Colourburst Lip Crayon in Red Sunrise | £7.99, Superdrug
I really loved the orange one that Bourjois released; i can't remember the name but i really love that product so i decided to check out some of the other shade and of course i ended up with one of the red shades. This is quite a light red but it's really pretty and i wore it when i went watching Bruno Mars on Sunday and it lasted all night so I'm pretty impressed so far.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in Taupe | £2.99, Superdrug
This was an impulse buy; i picked this up quickly on my way to the till - i have one of these eyeliners in nude and i really like the colour taupe so i picked it up. This will be a great colour to wear when i want a really natural look on the eyes.

Barry M Lipgloss in Toffee | £4.49, Superdrug
This is a repurchase. I adore this lipgloss and would go as far as saying it is my all time favourite lipgloss and I'm so happy to finally have it back in my life and using up my last one. Its an amazing lipgloss, its not sticky and it smells incredible!

Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturiser | £2.38, Superdrug
I needed a new moisturiser so i just picked up this cheap one which is meant to help combat spot prone skin which mine seems to be at the moment. I'm going to invest in some proper skincare but I'm still looking into which to get so i picked this up to get me through for the time being.

and that is all the beauty-related things I've picked up recently. I will do reviews on most things so keep your eyes peeled for those!

Have you bought any make-up items recently?

329. Bruno Mars | Liverpool Echo Arena

 photo Untitled-1_zps55acb87e.jpg

So last night i went to see Bruno Mars with my sister; we decided to get a hotel and stay over in Liverpool and make a nice day/night out of it. I had a lovely day shopping (haul will be coming your way tomorrow) I picked up a lovely new (expensive) foundation, a few other make-up bits and some Lush items. I also had a very long overdue Starbucks; the closest one to me isn't exactly walking distance so i made sure i went whilst in Liverpool and i got a Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate which was delicious, definitely made the right choice - unfortunately I'm now craving another one!

We stayed in the same Hotel that we stayed back in March when we went watching Olly Murs (post, here) Hotel Campanile; it was nothing fancy just a basic hotel but it was nice and cheap and super close to the arena so it was ideal for us.

 photo DSCF9077_zps4364c94d.jpg

 photo fotd_zpsadb44536.jpg

I really liked how my make-up turned out for the night - i used some of my new products that i bought earlier in the day and so far I'm pretty happy with my choices, the lighting in the room obviously wasn't the greatest but i hope you like them anyways.

The Make-Up I Wore:
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory | YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation in B30 | HD Brows 'Foxy' Kit | Maybelline Brow Drama in Dark Brown | Mac Paint Pot in Painterly | Rimmel Glam Eyes Mono Eyeshadow in Punchy Taupe | Mac Eyeshadow in Satin Taupe | Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner | Benefit They're Real | Benefit Hello Flawless Custom Cover Up Powder in Gee, I'm Swell Ivory* | Topshop Blush in Head Over Heels | YSL Touche Eclat | Bourjois Colourburst Lip Crayon in Red Sunrise

The night itself was pretty eventful; we had really good seats and a good view of the stage and the floor was all standing and there was a couple standing in front of us who got pretty wasted so all the security staff were keeping an eye on them and i think they delayed the show a little whilst they decided what to do about them because as soon as they moved them (I'm not sure if they kicked them out but they took them out of the crowd) the show started. I took my bridge camera with me because i wanted better quality photos and ended up having it taken off me, i did get it back but they locked it up in a cage and in my haste to follow the 'response' man outside all my rechargeable batteries fell out so I've had to buy some new ones - i have had them for a good 10 years so it was time. I was a little scared he was going to yell at me but he was actually really pleasant and just said i couldn't use it, the girl sat next to me also had her DSLR taken off her - so i think it's just little digital cameras and phones that you can use. I did however manage to get a couple of photos of him...

I'll be completely honest and admit that whilst i do like Bruno Mars and i enjoy his music i mostly went because my sister loves him and really wanted to go - otherwise id probably wouldn't have been bothered about going but after seeing him live last night i would genuinely go again. He was incredible and he really put on a show; despite his constant moving and dancing around the stage his voice didn't falter and some of the notes coming out of him were very pleasant on the ears. It was a fantastic show; and whilst I'm a little disappointed he didn't sing my favourite song off his album 'Gorilla' (i think it was due to the delay) i would definitely recommend going to see him live because it did not disappoint!

Do you like Bruno Mars? Have you been to any shows/tours lately?

327. Cosy Night In | The Essentials

 photo tumblr_mwe3jrKEiQ1sabygso1_400_zpsd60f09e7.jpg
Sometimes when you've had a long and tiring week or you're just having one of those days the best thing to do is to have a chilled evening and a cosy night in. So before we start; take off your make-up and get in your favourite PJS, along with some super snuggly bed socks or slippers and I'm going to share with you some of the essentials for a cosy night in.

Set the mood
light some candles, put on a few lamps (avoid big ceiling lights), put on the fire and turn on your fairly lights - if you have them of course, do anything that makes the place you are going to be taking resident for the evening as cosy and relaxing as possible whether its your bedroom, living room or somewhere else.

A Lovely Hot Drink
Nothing relaxes me more than a nice hot drink whether it be a cup of tea or a hot chocolate laced with whipped cream and marshmellows, it makes me all warm and lovely inside and for me is an essential to a cosy night in - now if your day as been particularly stressful and you are of age you could swap the hot drink for an alcoholic beverage!

Food and Some Naughty Tasty Treats
No night is completely without some food; so make your favourite meal or order your favourite takeout (definitely the latter, treat yourself) and don't forget some naughty treats for afters - chocolate, cake, crisps, popcorn, ice cream, sweets - whichever you prefer and lets face it, everyone loves a good sugary treat!

This isn't an essential i guess but if you're gonna be cosy you may as well go all out, right? So blanket is it, get all snug and cosy and lazy! In winter especially, extra layers are a necessity.

Movies, Tv Shows or Books
Whether you prefer to read a book, catch up on TV shows or just have a good ole movie night, a cosy night in just isn't complete without - however, make sure you plan ahead because sometimes deciding on a movie can take just as long as watching one!

What are your essentials for a cosy night in?

326. Top 5 | Lip Balms

 photo DSCF9010_zpsb57d538d.jpg

I don't know about you but as the weather is getting colder by the day, my lips are starting to get more and more dry so i find myself slathering on the lip balm to keep them hydrated and prevent my lips from becoming chapped, now I'm a self confessed lip balm addict and i have more lip balms than one person needs (see my post, here) so i thought id share with you 5 of my favourites - although this is a 'top 5' post there are some other lips balms that i really love as well but these are the 5 that I'm loving currently.

EOS Lipbalm in Strawberry Sorbet
I really like my EOS Lipbalms; i have three in total but this one is the one i like the most (it smells the nicest) I love the shape of these, their is something really satisfying about the spherical shape you'd think the novelty would have worn off by now but its really not, i also find the spherical shape makes it even easier to apply to the lips. I find this very moisturising on the lips, however they don't stay on the lips all that long which really lets them down so i mostly use these when I'm in my room as i keep them on display on a cake stand so they are easy to grab and reapply. They have such an incredible scent, especially this one - it's so fruity and really just lovely.

Vaseline Rosy Lips
I fall in and out of love with Vaseline, the formula isn't my favourite and i hate how slippery it feels on the lips (i hope that makes sense) but i do find it really hydrating on my lips so it's one of my ole' faithfuls and turn back to it everytime. I love the Rosy Lips version because it has a added tint of pink into it, it's not really pigmented just a nice little hint of the colour.

Carmex Original
I could do with a new one of these as mine is kind of yucky now but this is probably my lip saviour in winter. As soon as i feel like my lips are getting too dry, i get this out because it really hydrates them and whenever I've used this during winter it's prevented chapped lips so its a winner in my books because i can suffer from chapped lips pretty badly sometimes, so i love this lip balm for that. It has a menthol hint to it which isn't really for everyone, it's not my favourite scent or feeling on my lips but i find it really works for me so i can overlook the menthol scent/effect.

Maybelline Lip Smooth in Strawberry
This is the lip balm i keep in my bag; it smells lovely and it applies a really nice pinky colour. Id never actually heard of the Maybelline Lip Smooths until i came across it in a 99p store but its a really great lip balm, i wear it most days for work as it keeps my lips soft and moisturised as well as giving a lovely natural hint of colour to the lips too.

Elemis Freshskin Loving Lips Quenching Lip Balm
I got this free in a magazine back in April and I've almost used it all up, i wear this mostly before I'm going to bed and i just slather it on my lips - doesn't look so great but it hydrates my lips and i wake up with them feeling nice and smooth. I really hate the tube packaging for lip balms, this is so messy to apply and most of the time i end up putting it onto my finger and applying it my lips that way as these are just useless. I find it has a really minty scent, it reminds me of After Eights (mint chocolates if you don't know what they are) I'm not normally a big of minty scents but i do actually like this. Minus the packaging i think this is a brilliant lip balm.

Lip balms are an absolutely essential for me, especially in the winter as i really hate having dry lips so i like to keep them as hydrated as i possibly can and these lip balms are some of my current go to choices to do that!

What's your favourite lip balm?

325. Review | Q Awe The Fine Fragrance Body Spray

 photo DSCF9053_zpsf7a55010.jpg

 photo DSCF9051_zps992461cc.jpg

Just a quick a review for you today as I've had a long day in work and I'm super tired but I got sent this Q Awe Fine Fragrance Body Spray* a few weeks ago and I'm actually really enjoying using it. I love using body sprays for everyday use as i like to spray myself frequently throughout the day especially if I'm in work and i really hate the idea of wasting my "proper" perfumes so i find body sprays are really handy and affordable so they're easy to replace too!

I'm usually one of those people that opts for really girly fruity scents but this has a more mature scent but mature in a nice way. It has a very floral musky scent - it describes the scent as a refreshing fusion of jasmine and rose. Light, Luminous and uplifting. I honestly never would have picked this out myself but I'm really enjoying using it, the scent it so nice and fresh and unlike any body spray i own and I've honestly i may just repurchase it (after Ive used up the million and one other body sprays i have, i think i have a problem)

What's your favourite body sprays?

324. Review | Vivo Matte Foundation & Compact Powder

 photo DSCF9114_zpsd6c9fe43.jpg

 photo DSCF9118_zps694f906b.jpg

 photo DSCF9121_zps99610b86.jpg

I bought these two products quite some time ago from Tescos as they were super cheap and i was very intrigued as to what they were like as i was constantly hearing things about the brand Vivo and figured id give them a try. I go back to testing these out every so often and each time i hope for better results - don't get me wrong this isn't a really negative product more of a 'just okay' one.

I picked up the Vivo Matte Foundation as i seem to have fallen in love with the idea of a matte finish, even though I've already come to the conclusion that no matter how many Matte Foundations i try, we're just not meant to be together. This is not the easiest foundation to blend in at all, i found that when i was trying to blend the foundation it doesn't really blend much, it almost flakes on the skin and leaves it feeling quite horrible almost rough feeling, the flakes aren't very visible on the skin but i could feel them there and when i was blending it in (especially when i used my fingers) and it's just not pleasant. I will give it kudos on the finish though because this really does give you a matte finish it's just a shame that it applies quite flaky. I picked up shade 5 in Biscotti which on reflection was a very stupid choice as its quite dark on me. When i swatched it in the store it did match me quite well but it was quite some time ago so it could also be down to the fact my skin goes much paler in winter but even so it's not a great colour match - i personally just didn't enjoy wearing or applying this foundation, thankfully it was very cheap so i didn't too much money.

The compact powder on the other hand is actually a pretty decent powder; i picked up 'shade 1 in soft vanilla' i always get a really light shade in powder if there isn't a translucent one available because i don't like to build up the colour and end up looking cakey. Powder is an item i always use in my routine to set my foundation particularly in my t-zone, although i don't have oily skin i hate the idea of shine on my face so i like to powder it to get the matte effect that way. This probably isn't the best face powders out there but its definitely a cheap alternative for people on a budget.

The foundation is a bit of a wasted product but the powder is definitely a product i will get a lot of use out of - I've mentioned before that I'm very loyal with powders i use one from start to finish. Vivo is a great brand for people on a budget but due to that i find the products are hit and miss!

Have you tried any Vivo Products?

322. Review | L'Oreal Skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil

 photo DSCF9116_zpsb2322989.jpg

 photo DSCF9121_zps8e394127.jpg

I don't know about you but i find taking my make-up off quite a chore and whilst make-up wipes are okay for the odd quick fix they just don't quite cut it as a permanent solution. So when my sister bought the L'Oreal Skin Perfection 15 Second Miracle Cleansing Oil and let me have a try i was quite impressed and after a couple of goes, i went out and bought my own.

Firstly, this retails for £7.99 which i think is a bit steep but i probably would pay that amount for it - i managed to get mine on offer for about £5.32 from Superdrug, i don't know if that offer is still on but its worth checking out if you're interested anyway. This cleansing oil has made my life so much easier because it literally just melts away your make-up, it's so quick and easy and there is no scrubbing or wiping involved. I pump a small amount of the oil into my hand and massage it into my face focusing mostly on the eye area as that's usually where most of my make-up lies and then i splash a bit of water to remove it from my face and all my make up is gone, it takes a matter of seconds and removes really stubborn make up easily - i wear a lot of mascara, liquid liner and pencil eyeliner all the make-up that takes a bit of elbow grease to remove and this removes it so easily, it even removes Benefit's They're Real Mascara quite easily too!

It's really gentle on the face and eyes and it doesn't leave your skin oily, it really is a brilliant product and it's made taking my make-up off so easy and less of a chore because its removes all really quickly. If like me you find removing your make-up a chore i would definitely recommend checking out this product.

Have you tried this L'oreal Cleansing Oil?

321. What's In My Bag | Nightout Edition

 photo DSCF9044_zpsae7dcaa4.jpg

 photo DSCF9045_zps91aeb9a6.jpg

 photo DSCF9046_zps05aecd43.jpg

I love reading What's In My Bag posts, I've only ever done one and i actually ended up deleting it because it was so photo heavy that it just really annoyed me and do plan on doing a what's in my bag with my usual everyday bag but i thought it would be quite interesting to show you the bag i took out with me on Friday and what essentials i carry around with me on a night out.

The bag in question is actually my sisters; i believe it was from Primark and borrow it everytime i go out as its a really great size - its nice and small but its got enough space to carry all the things i need and because its black it pretty much goes with whatever I'm wearing. I take the usual suspects my house keys, my phone and some money - i did have more, but i spent it on the night, as a rule i never ever take my bank card out with me because that way i can't withdraw anymore money and spend a stupid amount. I took my little Audrey Hepburn mirror, my I.D which is just a provisional license because I'm really crap and still haven't started driving lessons and i always take a pack of tissues out with me because if you are going into a nightclub or bar, the majority of the times there is never any toilet roll left so i always carry these with me just in case.

I also carry some Kleenex Shine control papers because it can get a bit warm and sweaty so sometimes these are handy to have to pat down your face and remove any shine as its not such a great look. The perfume i took with me was Vivienne Westwood's Cheeky Alice, this is one of my favourites and i always save it for special occasions or nights out - i love the scent of this as its quite a mature scent but its really nice and the bottle is a great size to carry around with you. Make-up wise, the products i take depends on what make-up I'm wearing but i usually just take my powder which at the moment is Benefit Hello Flawless Custom Cover Up Powder*, if I'm wearing eyeliner I'll take that with me and the lip product I'm wearing which in this instance was Mac Lipstick in Creme Cup (If you'd like to see the make-up i wore, see here) and last but by no means least, i took a mini Insette Hairspray with me - this isn't the greatest hairspray but its a really handy size to carry around and i thought this would be handy to keep in my bag so i can't keep my fringe in check because it has a little life of its own.

and that's everything i usually take with me on a night out - the only thing missing is my camera because i forgot to charge the batteries but i usually carry that with me too. This probably seems like a lot to take out for some people but i like to be prepared.

What essentials do you like to take with you for special occasions or nights out?

I mentioned in yesterdays post and this post here that i was attending a charity night in memory of my friend and to support and raise money for C-R-Y (Cardiac Risk in the Young) Charity - i didn't actually get any photos of the night, i did intend too for this post but i spent a lot of the night catching up with friends and having a drink or four that i just didn't end up taking any, i did win a prize on the raffle they were hosting which was i was super chuffed about as i won a £20 voucher to a local beauty salon so I'm very excited to treat myself to a little pampering. I did however take a couple before i went out so i figured id show you the make-up i was wearing - the camera hasn't picked up the make-up all that well as it was evening so the flash has washed it out a bit, but hopefully these give you an idea of the make-up i worn.

For my base, i primed with 17 Photo Flawless Skin Primer and added Benefit High Beam to the cheeks to highlight and give a glow underneath my Foundation. I concealer under my eyes with Benefit Fake Up Concealer in 01* and applied Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation in Shade 1.0. I did my usual routine for eyebrows; filling them in with HD Brows Foxy Kit and setting them with MUA Clear Mascara.

For the eye look, i primed the lids with Urban Decay Primer Potion and used two palettes; first MUA Ever After Matte Eyeshadow Palette using the shades Bare (all over the lid) and Chino (along the crease) and then i took my Urban Decay Naked Palette and used the shades Darkhorse (outer corner) and Virgin (inner corner). I tightlined the eyes with Avon Supershock Gel Eyeliner in Black and lined my lash line with Rimmel Scandaleyes Precise Micro Eyeliner in Black and applied Benefit They're Real Mascara.

I finished the base with Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory applying that under the eyes and to cover any blemishes, i set it all in place with Benefit Hello Flawless Custom Cover Up Powder in Gee, I'm Swell Ivory*. I added a bit of colour into the face by applying George Bronzing Duo and applied my favourite blusher Benefit Bella Bamba. As i went for a more fuller eye look i kept the lips very natural with Mac Lipstick in Creme Cup and set all my make-up in place with Collection Fix Me Up Spray.

The dress i wore is actually one from Primark costing a mere £8 - quite a bargain if you ask me as it's a lovely fit and its one of those dresses that you can dress up or down, i paired this with some simple black heels from Peacocks. For my hair i curled the ends with my Enrapture Encode Totem Styler (on the heat settings 2-2-3) i absolutely love using this to curl my hair, its so quick and easy and i always love the results. Unfortunately, last night was the first time i managed to burn myself with it, nothing appeared on my face at first so i thought id had a lucky escape but i woke up this morning with a mark on the side of my face - so definitely be careful with it!

Overall i had a lovely night and it was such a great way for everyone to come together and honour James and it raised a fantastic amount of money for the charity too!

317. My Haircare Routine | Products I Use

 photo DSCF9093_zpsbadc7c2b.jpg

I don't think I've ever done a post on the products i use in my haircare routine and lately I've developed quite a collection of them (my basket is literally bulging, oops) so i thought id share with you the products i use consistently; firstly the products i use when I'm washing and drying my hair and also some of the products i used when I'm styling it too!

John Frieda Frizz Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo* and John Frieda Frizz Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Conditioner*
I really love using this shampoo and conditioner (see my review, here) they've improved my hair so much since using them, my hair feels so soft and so much healthier. They really lather up and they really make my hair and scalp feel so hydrated and clean and i just can't say enough good things about them. I've definitely noticed improvements in the condition of my hair since I started using these; even just how more manageable it is, usually after washing my hair its a knotty mess and brushing through it is a nightmare but after i use these that doesn't happen my brush literally just glides through my hair so easily - I'd never tried John Frieda before these and I'm honestly kicking myself because they are brilliant products.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Miraculous Recovery Intense Hair Masque*
I only use this hair masque once a week or when my hair needs an extra boost and like the John Frieda Shampoo and Conditioner, this leaves my hair feeling incredibly soft and in such good condition - i really enjoy using hair masques and even when you're washing this one off the hair you can already feeling the silkiness in your hair. One of my favourite things about this hair masque is that you only need to leave this on for 3-5mins instead of the usual 20 and even in that short time it still does a amazing job on my hair, that even some I've tried that take 20mins haven't achieved.

Tressemme Heat Defence
I use a lot of heat on my hair so a heat protectant is a must in my routine; i use this everyday before i do my hair as well as after I've washed my hair because i want to prevent my hair from getting too damaged from using heat on it - I'm particular strict with this product because my lack of faith in hairdressers means my hair is a little more damage particular at the ends so i don't want to make it any worse. I really like this Tressemme one, it does a great job at protecting my hair and it smells really nice too!

Lee Stafford's Blow Dry You Hair Faster Spray
When i first bought this product i honestly thought it was going to be a gimmicky kind of product but i have noticed that the time it takes to dry my hair reduce since i started using this, i hate drying my hair so a product that reduces the process is a winner in my books. This also detangles hair and has added heat protectant inside so you can't really go wrong with it.

John Frieda Original Formula Hair Serum*
I've mentioned on my blog before that i didn't really notice any particular difference to my hair when i use this product mostly because i don't know what its supposed to do so i don't really know what to look out for, technically this is still the case (and i call myself a beauty blogger) but i keep using it anyway because serum keeps the frizz away, so it keeps my hair nice and smooth. This also as heat protectant properties in it which is another plus!

Dove Hair Therapy Leave In Conditioner and Care SprayI'm sure this is a product that many people will recognise because it is mentioned on blogs a lot. It's a great leave in conditioner and i like to use it both on my hair when its wet to lock in the moisture and if i feel my hair needs a little bit of a pick me up when its dry ill spray this. It always gives my hair the extra boost it needs and it smells really great too!

 photo DSCF9106_zpscec78add.jpg

Although, i don't use these particular products on a daily basis; i do style my hair a lot so i thought it would be interesting to share with you a couple of other hair products i do use when im styling it.

Cien Volume Hairspray
I don't like to pay to expensive for hairsprays as i need something ill be able to replace quick and easily and this is one of the best ones I've tried so far. It holds my hair in place really well and it lasts all day too, best part of it is its not sticky and it doesn't leave your hair feeling all hard and crusty like some hair sprays do. I wouldn't particular say its gives volume but i don't use it for that, i mostly use hairspray to hold my fringe in place otherwise it ends up swinging in twelve different directions.

Inecto Pure Coconut Dry Shampoo
I do prefer Batiste but the prices of them nowadays is ridiculous and this is only 99p and does the exact same job. Dry shampoo is a must for me because i like to delay washing my hair as much as possible so i love being able to freshen up my hair and putting it off for another day. I also find that dry shampoo is a great way to add a bit of texture in your hair - the only thing this lacks in comparison to batiste is their lovely scents, but this one isn't too bad either.

John Frieda Full Repair Perfect Ends Sheer Mist*
Sometimes when Ive styled my hair, i find the ends of my hair can look a little dull or just bitty and i really like using this spray to give the ends and the rest of my hair a bit of shine. Too much makes the hair feel sticky but a light spritz of this gives a really healthy looking shine to the hair so i really like that. It also has a really lovely scent to it.

Superdrug Salt Spray
This probably isn't the greatest salt spray in the world but it does the job enough for me. I don't use it all the time but if i curl my hair and i want a more textured look to it this is a great product to use to create just that, too much can make your hair feel sticky and unpleasant but as long as you don't go too overboard its great to give your hair more texture and it can also holds the style quite well so you dont always need to use hairspray when you use this.

So those are the main products i use in my haircare routine, there are others that i do use now and again but at the moment these are the products I'm reaching for on a more regular basis.

What hair products are in your haircare routine?

316. Review | Kiko Skintone Correcting Primer

 photo DSCF5344_zpscfe25b3b.jpg

 photo DSCF5345_zps2c2d384f.jpg

I bought this Skintone Correcting primer from Kiko when i was in Rome back in April (insane that its been 7 months) and the concept of it really intrigued me. They came in different selection of 'correction' colours and i went for Violet as that offers to brighten up the complexion, cancel out any dullness and even out the skintone, i love products that are going to brighten up the skin and make it appear more pert and more awake so this primer really caught my eye and made its way back with me.

Weirdly enough, i didn't actually use it for the longest time when i got back i just put it in my collection and left it to gather dust and it was only when i decided to switch up my make-up bag ready for the Autumn season (see a post about that, here) that i decided to get it out and give it ago. Sadly, this isn't as great as i as hoping it would be which is a bit of a pain as it retails for just under £10 but I'm making the effort to use it because i feel guilty wasting products.

This literally comes out a purple colour, which at first worried me a little bit but it doesn't apply onto the skin that colour - i apply this to my face after moisturising focusing more on the parts i want to appear more brighter and more alert and then whatever product is left over on my hand i prime the rest of the face with. The primer is a bit sticky to apply, its not completely unbearable but it doesn't have that velvety soft and smooth feel that a lot of primers do have which i really like in primers as it makes the skin feel even smoother and the lack of that lets this down and although it does make my skin look a little more awake than it normally is this doesn't do anything groundbreaking - it doesn't make a difference to my foundation and how it applies nor does it make any difference to the foundations staying power.

It's not a terrible product and i will get what use out of it i can to prevent wastage but this isn't a product I'll be rushing out to repurchase anytime soon.

What's your favourite face primer? Have you tried Kiko's Skintone Correcting Primer?

Dress | Asos (via Charity Shop)
It feels like its been ages since i last did a face of the day post and i have actually missed doing them! I went into town on Saturday to do a little bit of christmas shopping so i thought id share with you the make up i wore!

After moisturising my face i applied Kiko Skintone Correcting Primer in Violet to the face, focusing more on my cheek bone area to brighten up my face a little. I blended Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory under my eyes and around my nose using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush and using the same concealer i covered any blemishes on my chin but this time blending it out with my fingers. Using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, i applied Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation in Ivory - i love using this foundation in the colder months because it really brightens up my face. I groomed my eyebrows and filled them in using the HD Foxy Brows Kit - i mixed the shade 'Ash Brown' with a touch of 'Carbon' and set those in place with MUA Clear Mascara.

I primed my eyelids Urban Decay Primer Potion and applied NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk into the inner corner to add a little highlight and to brighten up the eye area. The eyelook i went for was a very simple, subtle neutral eye and i achieved that with MUA 'Ever After' Matte Eyeshadow Palette, I applied the shade 'Bare' all over the lid as a base and took a small amount of 'Chino' and blended that into the crease to add some depth to the eye, i then took the shade 'Truffle' and applied that into the outer corner and then applied 'Smoke' along the lash line to add the definition of an eyeliner but it's much softer looking on the eye. I used Avon Supershock Gel Eyeliner in Black to tightline my eyes and to give the impression of much fuller lashes, i also think tightlining gives an eye look a much edgier feel to it. I then finished off the eyes by applying Benefit They're Real Mascara to give me lovely long lashes.

I set my base in place with Benefit Hello Flawless Custom Cover Up Powder in Gee, I'm Swell Ivory* and using ELF Studio Stippling brush i applied a small amount of Shaka Blush in Scarlett to the cheeks to give a nice flush of colour to the cheeks. To finish off the look i wore Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Celestial.

Hope you like it!
