The MUA 'Ever After' Matte Eyeshadow Palette is probably one of the only releases from MUA that really caught my attention and i instantly knew that one way or another it would make its way into my collection. From the matte finish to the range of shades everything about this palette had me hooked. As a neutral lover, this palette has a gorgeous range of shades and i just think they are such a great combination for this autumn (although, they'd work all year round)

Sadly, i don't have any swatch photos - i did take them but my camera just didn't pick up the colour very well especially of the top row which is rather annoying but for reference thesundaygirl did a post and she has got some fantastic swatch photos so definitely check that post out if you'd like to see the swatches! Out of all their palettes; i definitely think the pigmentation in this palette struggles compared to others, mostly in the lighter shades they are still buildable so you can still get use out of them but you do have to pack the colour on a little bit which is shame but i use this palette mostly for work (in particular the shade 'Bare') and i find it's a great everyday palette, as i can create very subtle eye looks without looking too overdone for work.

As well as being a little weak in the pigmentation some of the lighter shades are also a little chalky, which isn't really ideal but for some reason with this palette that doesn't bother me all too much and i find myself overlooking the few flaws as I've still found myself able to wear them and create some great eye looks out of the palette. Other than that, i find that they are easy to blend out and are long lasting - i always wear a primer underneath so i can't comment how it works without one. I'm so happy that MUA have now taken to naming their eyeshadow shades as it makes it so much easier to talk about them and to identify them.

Realistically, this isn't one of their strongest palettes but i do actually really like it regardless of its flaws - normally, i wouldn't be impressed whatsoever but i do find myself reaching for this palette almost daily so it can't be all that bad now can it?

Apologies again for the lack of swatch photos - I'm currently working on sorting out lighting as it's been quite a struggle with working and the early nights so please forgive me!

Have you tried the MUA 'Ever After' Eyeshadow Palette?

  1. I'm not surprised a palette like this lacks pigmentation and applies a little chalky. This one actually reminds me of LA Colors, if you're familiar with that brand. It's a shame, though. The colors look really pretty, and could have been super useful as an everyday type of look.
