Hello,
I'm so glad it's the weekend, as this week as proper worn me out! This is the make-up i wore for work yesterday so again its pretty natural but i hope you like it anyways! I didn't actually wear my hair like this for work i put it up in a bun but i thought id wear it down for the photos for a change!

To start i applied a little Benefit High Beam onto my cheeks and forehead, i don't put to much on as it is a highlighter just enough to give a bit of a glow to my skin, i concealed under my eyes and all my blemishes using Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair 01, my chin is having a field day at the moment, thankfully the camera hasn't picked it up but it literally looks like a mountain range has taken residence. The foundation i used will be of no surprise to you as it was my Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation Ivory*.

Taking the shade 'Ash Brown' from HD Brows Kit in Foxy i filled in my brows and set them in place with MUA Clear Mascara as a brow gel. I then primed my eyes with Urban Decay Primer Potion, i decided to use my MUA 'Undressed' Palette for a change, i think I'm going to use this one specifically for work as they are nice natural shades! From the palette i applied Shade 2 all over the lid and blended Shade 5 into my crease to add definition to the eye, i also took a very small amount of Shade 10 and lightly pressed it into the outer corner - it's a very simple eye look but it looks nice and its nothing too over the top whilst I'm at work too. I lined my eyes with Kiko Ultimate Pen Liner and coated my lashes with Kiko 30 Days Daily Lash Treatment Mascara (Full review coming at the end of Sept)

I applied a little bit of YSL Touche Eclat under my eyes to brighten up the under eye area a little bit, and then i went in with Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer and contoured my cheeks, and then set my foundation with Benefit Hello Flawless Custom Cover Up Powder in Gee, I'm Swell Ivory* - i used this after my bronzer rather than before so that i could make sure it was blended in and there was no harsh lines/shadows. I added a sweep of Benefit Dandelion Blush to the cheeks and then set my make-up with Collection Fix Me Up Setting Spray. To finish the look off i applied my Mac Lipstick in Creme Cup!

Hope you like it!

242. Monthly Favourites | August

 photo DSCF7619_zps68558dd4.jpg

 photo DSCF7623_zps8cd56b44.jpg

Hey there,
These posts seem to be coming around faster each month! I don't have a lot of favourites this month as I've been really sticking to the same kind of natural make up look for work, so I've been sticking with the same handful of products.

Bourjois Bronzing PrimerI love this, i wear this as a cream bronzer rather than a primer, its so easy to blend out too! I love that i can actually see the contour on my cheeks when i wear this and it's quite a good shade for me too, it looks natural! This also smells really nice too, I'm loving this product so much.

Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara
I've been wearing this mascara pretty much all month - i didn't really have high expectations for it when i first tried it but it's really impressed me, it adds really good length to my lashes and it doesn't clump together at all, the wand really helps to separate my lashes and make them look fuller and it holds the curl really well too. This mascara really surprised me and I'm gutted we don't have Tarte in the UK!

HD 'Foxy' Brow Kit
I've been using this product for the past few years but i recently took a break from it and tried out pencil products for my eyebrow but this month saw me return back to it and I've really been enjoying using it. Eyebrows are not my strong point, it probably doesn't help because i have little caterpillars for brows but i really like using it, the shade i use is 'Ash Brown' which looking at the pan form i wouldn't think would suit my brows but it really does and this helps to make them look more groomed and put together.

Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer
On the days I'm not wearing the Bourjois Bronzing Primer, I've been reaching for this. I'm on a bit of a bronzer kick if you hadn't already noticed, I'm loving wearing it which is quite unusual for me. This bronzer is often featured by bloggers and vloggers and it never really stood out to me, until recently and I'm so glad i decided to get it as it is such a great bronzer, it's looks really natural and subtle on the skin but it's still visible too - it blends into the skin so easily and i think it looks really nice on too. I wouldn't say it smells like chocolate like some people say i think it smells very similar to their bronzing primer but i don't mind because it smells really nice!

Elf Mineral Lipstick in Runway Pink
This was a rediscovery for me, i was obsessed with this lipstick for the longest time and then i got more and more interested in make up and as my collection grew it kind of got pushed aside but i recently dug it out of my collection and its become my go to lipstick for work. Its so natural looking but the pink tones give it a nice hint of colour, it's just my ideal 'pink nude' shade and its really moisturising on the lips.

Bourjois Colourburst Lip Crayon in Orange Punch
When I'm not wearing Runway Pink, I've been wearing this. Orange is not a colour id normally go for but i am in love with this, it has more of a hint of coral than orange but i just love it, it's such a gorgeous colour I'm loving these lip crayons too and i really want to get more shades in them, they are so moisturising and they last for ages too. Bourjois are really impressing me at the moment!

and those are all my favourites for the month of August! I'm really impressed by all these product and I've been loving using them!
What products have you been loving this month?

241. Review | Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

I was extremely late to the bandwagon with this product - it's been a must have product amongst bloggers and vloggers for quite some time now and initially i wasn't going to do a post on because lets face it their are a million and one already out there but i felt i needed to share my opinion on it so here goes.

Firstly, yes this is a great concealer that is something i can't deny. It does give a good amount of coverage for my dark circles, moreso than a lot of concealers that I've tried and it does last for a while too i wouldn't go as far as saying it lasts up to 16 hours though. It covers blemishes too, I've been getting them a lot on my chin lately so its been really useful to cover them up.

One thing i really think is ridiculous about this is the packaging, mine has now rubbed off (Ive had it less than a month) fair enough, its cheap but considering its a comment that everyone brings up when mentioning this product you'd think Collection might have taken note.

I don't want to cover too much about the general concealer itself because you've probably already read dozens of reviews if you've not already got the concealer yourself but the thing i want to i guess share with you is the lack of excitement it gives me. When i first gave into the hype and bought this i expected to be really excited by it and want to rave about it from the rooftops but i don't, i really want to be in love with it but I'm just not.

It's a great product, that is something i just can not deny but I'm disappointed by the fact it doesn't make me want to scream from the rooftops about - is that just me, that this happens to?. I'm aware that this is probably a really strange review, in fact i probably sound quite delirious but despite my weird feelings - If you are looking for a good cheap concealer that actually covers under eyes and blemishes then id definitely recommend this one!

239. Review | Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss in Punch Bowl

 photo DSCF7414_zps59ed27a8.jpg

 photo DSCF7420_zps5f1c9a48.jpg

 photo DSCF7421_zps180f050b.jpg

Hello there,
A not so glowing review for you today, I've wanted to try more products from Soap & Glory's Cosmetic range but this 'Sexy Mother Pucker' definitely isn't so sexy. I was actually really disappointed in this product because it epitomises everything that i personally dislike about a lipgloss - emphasis on the 'personally', just because i dislike aspects of the product doesn't mean you will.

Firstly, the consistency of this lipgloss is very thick, which isn't always a negative thing about lipgloss but this one i just find unpleasant to wear, also because it's so thick i find that it doesn't sit on the lips right, its too thick to spread evenly. On top of that, it's really sticky on the lips and that is just something i can not deal with in a lip gloss.

This is a lip plumping lip gloss as well so it does tingle on the lips which I'm not the biggest fan of anyway, but with this lipgloss i felt like my lips were on fire and it just wasn't pleasant nor was it worth waiting to find out if it does plump my lips so i ended up removing it pretty instantly and its felt the same everytime I've tried it out.

Now this next gripe i have with it, definitely is just an opinion thing but i really hated the scent of this - it had a really strong sickly chocolately kind of smell, i just found it really overpowering and unpleasant but I'm just not a big fan of chocolatey smells, as much as i love chocolately i just find the scent really sickly.

One positive comment i do have about this lipgloss is that it does have pretty good pigmentation - ideally, I'd have photos to accompany this review but i had to stay in work a few hours extra than planned so i didn't have chance by the time i got home but the colour pay off is pretty good for a lipgloss. I also love this colour 'Punch Bowl' i just think its a really gorgeous pink and its definitely a colour i would go for.

I'm so gutted that this lipgloss just isn't as good as id initially hoped, despite my negative review do bear in mind that this is just my opinion and this product just isn't right for me.

Have you tried Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss?

238. Pamper Session #1

 photo DSCF7566_zpse5066560.jpg

Hello dears,
I've had a lovely lazy 4 day weekend and decided to give myself a little pamper session before I'm back to work tomorrow, its nothing to crazy or exciting but i thought I'd share with you some of the products ill be using.

 photo DSCF7576_zps4cc05844.jpg

 photo DSCF7561_zps3b05f7fb.jpg

 photo DSCF7537_zpse7173a95.jpg

To start my pamper session i ran a lovely hot bath, and filled it with some Radox Unwind Bubble Bath that i stole from my mum (ssh!) because no relaxing bath is complete without some bubbles and a few candles, right? I absolutely love the Radox Bubble Baths, they are so nice and relaxing and i just don't think you can beat a nice radox bath. I also used my Fearne Cotton Body Scrub to exfoliate the skin with, it has a gorgeous vanilla scent and isn't harsh on the skin, even though its gentle it works really well and leaves the skin feeling wonderfully smooth. I also like to use my Superdrug Strawberry & Raspberry Shower Gel this is stupidly cheap but smells incredible and i love using it.

 photo DSCF7544_zps6ed10e41.jpg

 photo DSCF7579_zps0d56e349.jpg

Whilst having a soak in the bath, i put on a face mask, no pamper session would be right without a face mask now would it? The face mask I'm currently using is Good Things Five Minute Facial Mask, It's made with all good things (hence the name) that all do different jobs for the skin; Green Clay and Kaolin draw out impurities, Avocado oil moisturises the skin, Goji Berry Extract to soothe the skin and Willow Bark Extract to extract radiance. I really enjoy using this on my face and i definitely notice a difference before and after using it and if it's goodness of it hasn't quite won you over, then you should just smell it because it smells so good and fruity.

After I'm done soaking and out of the bath (trust me, i can take a while) i used the Neutrogena Deep Clean Wave to give my skin more of a deep clean, i wouldn't scream about this from the rooftops and tell everyone to buy it because it's not the most amazing this but i enjoy using it on my skin and i do feel like it gives me a bit of a extra cleanse.

 photo DSCF7548_zpsc79507e5.jpg

When I've got out of the bath i tend to potter around in my towel for ages, i don't know why but i just takes ages, so in between pottering around i moisturised my skin - i decided to try the sample of (Malin & Goetz) Vitamin B5 Body Moisturiser that's been sitting in my drawer for a little while and i actually really liked it, it was really smooth to apply and it literally just melting into my skin. After I'd finished moisturising and pottering around in my towel, i dug out some lovely fresh pjs and moisturised my face using Nivea Daily Essentials Night Cream this is a really thick moisturiser which normally i wouldn't like but because it's nighttime and I'm not going anywhere its okay, as this is so thick its really hydrates the skin. I also like to reapply my lip balm as my lips have been quite dry lately, at the moment I've been reaching for my Maybelline Baby Lips in Yummy Plummy

 photo DSCF7553_zps41ac9336.jpg

To finish my mini pamper session, I'm gonna give my nails a lick of polish - I've went for Ciate Nail Polish in Beach Melba, a nice pink nude colour that give my nails a really clean look, i don't want to paint my nails a visible colour because it'll only chip when I'm in work and it'll really bug me, so I'm keeping it clean looking.

and that is my little pamper session - nothing too crazy or overly exciting but it's a nice little pick me up, to get me ready for the week ahead!
How do you like to pamper yourself?

237. Review | Shaka Blushes in Scarlett & Mocha

 photo DSCF6597_zps9cea7def.jpg

 photo DSCF6623_zpsaaa4630c.jpg

Hello there,
I bought these two blushes way back in April when i went to Rome and I'm only getting round to reviewing them now, naughty blogger! In my defence though, I've been testing quite a few blushes out so its taken me a while to get round to it! Shaka is an Italian brand so as far I'm aware its unavailable in the UK.

These were super cheap blushes, if i remember rightly the brand had a 40% off on offer and i paid about 4Euros for each one so they were really affordable. They have really good colour payoff, they blend easily into the skin and they are fairly long lasting too - which is pretty good for a cheaper blush!

Shaka Blush in 'Scarlett'
I picked this one up because quite a lot of the blushes i have are soft pinks or peachy pinks and i fancied trying something a bit different and a bit darker - the camera hasn't picked up as well as id hoped. This blush reminds me a lot of Sleek's Flamingo blush especially when applied, its quite bright but it looks really pretty on the cheek - it's almost the ideal 'ragdoll' blush kind of colour if that makes any sense? I imagine this blush will be one I'll reach a lot for in winter as its much darker than my others but adds a lovely flush of colour to the cheeks.

 photo DSCF7516_zps0d72acd2.jpg

 photo DSCF7518_zpscbc10938.jpg

Shaka Blush in 'Mocha'
This is a bit of an usual blush shade, i purpose choose a more orangey brown blush because at the time i had the idea in my head of trying it like a bronzer. It's a little too on the orange side to pull off as a proper bronzed look and i don't know about you but an orange blush just isn't something i feel i can pull off very well? At first, i wasn't keen on this at all but the more and more that I'm trying it, the more I'm starting to find a way to make it work for me - i purposely dust this onto my cheeks very lightly to avoid it looking too 'orange' on my face and so that the lightness of the application allows it to look a little more like a bronze effect than a blush.

These are great little blushes, really good quality and despite what the photos may say they do have good colour pay off - given the choice again, i probably would get Mocha as although I'm finding a way to make it work it's just not something ill probably find myself reaching for often, Scarlett on the other hand i feel will be reached for a lot when it starts to get more into autumn and winter!

What are some of your favourite blushes?

236. Rediscovered | ELF Mineral Lipstick in Runway Pink

Hello my dears,
I don't know about you but when you have a make-up addiction like myself, your collection can get quite large and often old favourites can be put aside and sometimes forgotten. Recently, i was having a little nosey through my collection for a different post and i came across a old favourite of mine - ELF Mineral Lipstick in Runway Pink.

As you can see from the photos this lipstick was once very well loved, the packaging is a little worn and the writing on it has now faded completely. I used to wear this lipstick everyday without fail, its the ideal nude pink shade and its one of those lipsticks that goes with everything and you don't have to worry or faff around with the application of it and recently this lipstick has made its way back into my everyday make-up back.

I've been wearing this pretty much everyday for work - you can see me wearing it here, in a recent fotd - it such a gorgeous natural shade; on me nudes can be a bit too much and make me look a little on the dead side but with pink tones in the mix like this one, it adds a little bit of life and a subtle hint of colour. I actually own about four of the Mineral Lipsticks from ELF; they are fantastic quality, have great colour payoff and are so moisturising and creamy to wear too. They aren't the most long lasting lip products, id say they last around 2-3 hours (that may be pushing it) but if you're willing to reapply then its something you can live with!

I forgot just how much i used to love this lipstick, its just the perfect colour. The Mineral lipsticks are super cheap and fantastic quality and they have quite a wide range of shades too - if you're look for a nude pink shade then I'd definitely recommend Runway Pink, its perfect and I'm so happy I've rediscovered it!

Whats your favourite nude pink shade?

Hello there,
I hope you're enjoying these face of the day posts as I'm definitely enjoying writing them and i hope to do many more. I know i look a little washed out on the first photo - damn lighting, but i really like how it shows my liner so i thought id include it anyways. Also, have you noticed that my hair almost has an ombre effect again? Well, it seems that hair dye no longer wants to stay in my hair and has faded out as a few weeks ago my hair was a kind of purple colour - if anyone has any idea why or what could stop this from happening, id love to know! Anyways onto the make up look!

To start i primed my face with Tarte Clean Slate Poreless 12-hr Perfecting Primer and concealed under my eyes and any blemishes i have (some appear to have taken resident on my chin, thankfully the photos haven't picked them up) with Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair. For my base i used Revlon's Nearly Naked Foundation in Ivory, which I'm still loving using - it's so light on the skin, has a natural finish and still offers a good amount of coverage.

I groomed and set my eyebrows using MUA Clear Mascara as a brow gel and moved onto my eyes whilst it set in place. I used Mac Paint Pot in Painterly as my base and decided to give my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette some love as i find myself using the first one more. I took the shade Bootycall and applied it all over the lid as my base colour, i then applied Tease into my crease and Busted into the outer corner to give a little extra definition to the eye. To brighten up the eye a little bit i put Foxy into the inner corner as a highlight. I lined my eyes with Kiko Ultimate Pen Liner and lengthened my lashes with Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara.

Going to back the brows, i filled them in and gave them a bit more shape using the shade Ash Brown from the HD Brows Foxy Palette. I set my foundation in place using Benefit Hello Flawless Custom Cover Up Powder in Gee, I'm Swell Ivory* and contoured with the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer. To add a flush of colour to my cheeks i used Shaka Blush in Scarlett, i applied this quite lightly as its quite a dark blush shade and i didn't want to have too much going on, on my face!

To finish i added a bit of Nars Orgasm Illuminator to the highlight the tops of my cheeks and applied L'Oreal Rouge Caresse Lipstick in Rebel Red to the lips.

So yeah, it's still fairly natural but as i wasn't in work today i wore more eyeshadow and added a more bold lip colour. I'm still working on trying to get decent photographs of my eye make-up so you can have a more closer look at that!

What make-up looks have you been wearing lately?
