Happy New Year | Goals for 2014

Happy New Year | Goals for 2014

As we prepare to leave the year behind; it usually around this time that everyone starts those 'new year, new start' epiphanies and whilst I'm looking forward to a turning over a new leaf I'm not under any illusion that the change in year means everything else changes too. I'm also not going to set any new years resolutions instead I'm going to set some goals that i hope to achieve.

Memory Jar 2013

Memory Jar 2013

Can you believe that this is the penultimate post of 365 challenge because i seriously can't? One of my resolutions this year was to keep a memory jar; filling up a jar with notes of all good things that happened no matter how big or small so that when the year ended I'd be able to remember all those little things that made me smile.

YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation

YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation

I've been wanting to invest in a new expensive foundation for the winter time and after spending a little while reading many reviews and debating which one to buy i settled on the YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation and i picked it up when i went to Liverpool at the end of last month - just a little disclaimer; I'm aware that these photos aren't the greatest but i found this really hard to photograph so they'll have to make do.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette

Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette

Normally when i buy a product i like to give it a good two to three weeks worth of testing but after getting this productlast week i couldn't wait any longer to share it with you. As soon as i heard that they were releasing a Naked 3 palette i knew that i had to get my hands on it.

Maybelline Brow Drama

Maybelline Brow Drama

I'll be the first one to admit that when it comes to eyebrows I'm still a bit of a novice; i probably don't help myself because although i may tweeze the few stray hairs that appear i tend to leave them to do as they please (I'm sorry, but it hurts) so although i do fill them in and neaten them up, they never look as amazing as I've seen other people get theirs. My usually brow routine would be to fill them in with HD 'Foxy' Brows Kit and set them with a clear mascara which ill be honest is a routine that works absolutely fine with me.

Love Me Beauty (Edition Two) | December

Love Me Beauty (Edition Two) | December

I love the concept of beauty boxes; a box of goodies sent on a monthly basis what's not to love? Ive tried two different ones and each time it didn't end well; firstly Glossybox, i was subscribed to this for about 5 months and i decided to cancel it because i was tired of being constantly sent the same thing, especially rank perfume samples. The i decided to try Carmine because i kept hearing good things about it and i was very impressed but then it announced it was going to be joining forces with Glossybox so i never re-subscribed and after than i decided i just wasn't going to bother anymore.

Rediscovered | Barry M Lipgloss in Toffee

Rediscovered | Barry M Lipgloss in Toffee

Don't you just love it when you use a product you haven't used in a while either because its been put back into the drawer or you used it all up and took a while to repurchase it and you rekindle that love for it - well this is one of those; its probably my all time favourite lip gloss and the only one i have ever fully used up. I repurchased the Barry M Lip Gloss in Toffee (£4.49) when i went to Liverpool quite recently and i forgot just how much i loved it

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Red Sunrise

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Red Sunrise

You may remember a little while ago i raved about the Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Orange Punchand i said i really wanted to try some others, and on my recent visit to Liverpool i picked another one up, this time i opted for the shade Red Sunrise.

Enrapture Encode Totem Styler

Enrapture Encode Totem Styler

I love curly hair and I'm forever buying new hair tools that can give me amazing curly hair quickly and easily. Ive been eyeing up most of Enrapture's hair tools and when saw a fellow #bblogger tweet that they'd bought their Encode Totem Styler for £17.99 from Home Bargains, i knew i just had to get my hands on one. When i first went online they were sold out and i almost cried but i was determined and kept checking back and a few days later they were back and one was on its was to me!

5 Handbag Essentials

5 Handbag Essentials

I promise one day i will do a What's in my Bag post but i really want to get a new bag first and I'm really fussy with bags so it's gonna take me some time, okay? In the meantime though, i thought I'd share with you my 5 handbag essentials - these aren't necessarily beauty related items but these are the things i consider essential and the items that are always likely to be in my handbag.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush & Shading Brush

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush & Shading Brush

Ive been eyeing up buying more Real Techniques Brushes for ages but always put it off; i recently discovered a US website called My Pretty Face Place which sells them along with NYX, EOS and ELF at a discounted price so i decided to order two brushes and see what they were like, as i was a little sceptical about them considering how cheap they were, as it was shipped from the US delivery did take a little longer but i received them about 2 weeks after id made the order which is pretty good as i think it's estimated at 3 weeks. So far I'm pretty impressed with this website and I'm happy with the two brushes i ordered - i think they've gone even cheaper since i ordered them.

I was really curious to try this after everyone suddenly started to prefer this over the Buffing Brush, and as a big fan of the buffing brush i was intrigued to see if it really was better and as good as people say. I'm really sad to say that I'm completely agree and as much as i love my buffing brush this has took its place in applying my foundation.

This brush is specifically design for the application for cream or liquid foundations and their short and dense bristles make it perfect for that as it helps to pick up more foundation and leave you with more coverage. This brush is super soft and feel amazing to use against the skin, the broad shape of the brush also really helps to blend in the product really well and allow for a smooth application. Ive really been enjoying using this brush, every time I've used this brush to apply my foundation I've been really happy with the results its given, I'm so impressed with it.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush & Shading Brush

Real Techniques Shading Brush (£3.70)
I really enjoying applying eyeshadow and I'm always on the lookout for brushes that will improve the make up even more, I've had my eye on the RT Starter Kit but haven't quite taken the plunge so i thought id try this brush first before i do and see how i get on with it first.

This brush is incredibly soft and feel so nice when using it on the eye; it picks up product really well and applies it nicely too. This brush is not only great for packing on the colour (its designated use) but I've found it works for blending too - it's quite a versatile brush in the respect, I've also read reviews that people use this for concealer too, I've not tried that but i may give it a go and get back to you on that! The size of this brush also makes it quite a handy tool to have in your collection as you can use it for reaching into the inner and outer corners as well as under the eye as its quite a small compact brush.

Real Techniques brushes wash really well and these are not exception, they clean easy and don't shed or lose their shape. I'm absolutely chuffed to bits with my purchases especially considering their prices, i will definitely be ordering some more and i think its about time i got my hands on their starter set!

What's your favourite Real Techniques Brushes?

You Asked, I Answered #1

In the recent giveaway i hosted to celebrate reaching 500GFC followers (thanks for that btw) as one of the entries i asked that people left a question in the comment; i really liked the idea of starting a q&a kind of series but if i posted a tweet or a post asking for questions i wasn't sure how much of a response id get where with a giveaway i figured it'd be a it more successful/ So today's post is me answering those questions you left!

Car Boot Sale #5

Car Boot Sale #5

I went to a Car Boot Sale yesterday for the first time in ages and i picked up a few make up items - now before anyone sits there thinking "how gross" etc... I'm very wary of which products i pick up and i make sure they are in decent condition before taking them home with me - i just find this is a great way to test out some products before committing to buy it or if its brand new then its a great way to save money. As i said, I'm very wary of the products i buy and i don't buy anything like Mascaras, lip products or eyeliners (unless its visible that they are brand new) Anyways, i thought you might like to see what i picked up.
