I've been switching up my foundations a lot lately; testing out new ones and relying on trusted favourites, one of the foundations that Ive been trying out is the Korres Wild Rose Foundation. I picked this up on Fragrance Direct for £3.50 (RRP £18.45) - I'm not sure if it's massive discount means it's being discontinued or not but there is still a Wild Rose Foundation on the Korres Website that has been repackaged so maybe it's just been updated. If not, it is still available over on Fragrance Direct.

With this foundation i find i achieve a better finish when i apply it with my fingers, i do normally prefer using brushes but using my fingers allows me to pick up less product and get a more natural finish as this does have a medium to heavy coverage and as the shade 'WRF 2' isn't a perfect match for my skin i like to apply it lightly so i can avoid it looking obvious that it's not a perfect match. If they had a lighter shade on fragrance direct i think that would have been ideal because this one is only a slightly bit darker. Continuing with the shade range; i don't know about the one on the Korres website but on fragrance direct there is only two shades available so it's not the greatest selection and there isn't a shade option for darker skin tones, but i imagine that's because they are just selling the last ones off that are in this particular packaging. Despite the shade being a little off; i do like this foundation as it does blends out nicely and leaves a nice finish to the skin - as i only apply a very small amount.

Korres always seem to be on top of their game when it comes to packaging; it's always very sleek and simple and i love this little glass bottle as it's black with white writing on top and it's quite unusual compared to the the usual transparent glass design that foundations often take so it's quite different to my other foundations. Unfortunately, this foundation has committed one sin that really grates on me when it comes to foundations and that is the lack of a pump! This foundation has quite a runny consistency so having to literally pour it out of the bottle means too much comes out and it often gets wasted and that really annoying. A pump is just the most practical option and i don't get why so many brands think its a good idea not to have one.

Out of the two Korres Foundations I've now tried (this one and Korres Ginger & Vitamins Foundation) i think i do prefer the Ginger & Vitamins one just because it's a much lighter foundation in comparison to the Wild Rose and i prefer a more lighter coverage but i do still like this foundation and if you are someone who does like a medium to heavy coverage this one may be worth checking out!

Have you tried any foundations by Korres?

  1. I didn't realise that Korres had foundations as well, this is so exciting. Not a huge range, but I'd love to try one of them to see how they measure with both budget and premium brands :o) Xx
