I'm actually a little disappointed as i did plan for this post to be a new series I'm planning on introducing to my blog; i wanted to start doing some lifestyle type posts into my blog as they are some of my personal favourites to read and i thought it'd be an interesting way to show you a little bit more about me outside my blog and my usual beauty ramblings. I'd decided i was going to do like 'A Day in the Life' kind of post and just take frequent photos throughout the day and kind of take you along with me (without vlogging).

Now i did plan to do this on Thurs (20/2/14) as i had a lovely busy day planned - which is quite rare for me - and i was actually really excited but then i got that dreaded phone call from work - my manager had gone home ill and my assistant manager had to leave at half 12 and the next in line was me so i had to cancel all my plans (trust me, i wasn't impressed) and head into work so i couldn't really take pictures whilst i was in there and when i went out on the evening i got a little too drunk and completely forgot to take photos bar three so that didn't really go as plan and has been postponed until next time.

So today's post is a review of these two Seventeen product that i actually received in my Boots Advent Calendar and its taken me a little while to get round to testing them out.

Seventeen Tattoo Me 48 Hour Wear Semi-Permanent Liquid Eyeliner

I was a little bit iffy about trying this eyeliner for a couple of reasons; firstly, I'm not the biggest fan on liquid liners as i much prefer using felt tip liners and secondly, when i posted a photo on instagram of it, i received a comment off Hayley telling me how difficult she found this to remove so it took me a while to decide to try it out. I also don't really understand why anybody would want their eyeliner to last 48 hours - it's just plain stupid.

I did actually find using this easier than i expected; i managed to get a fairly neat line, it didn't smudge and it's quite pigmented so you do get a nice black line from it. However, when Hayley said it was difficult to remove she really was not joking. I remove my make up with L'oreal Cleansing Oil and normally it removes really stubborn products easily but i ended up having to use this twice over and really massaging it onto my eyelids with my fingers to remove it. This isn't an eyeliner I'd probably ever wear again; as day to day it would require way to much effort than its worth to remove, It probably would be a good one to wear if you have a really long day ahead of you or a night out as it really doesn't budge though.

Seventeen Blowout Volumise Sculpt Tease Mascara
The last time i tried a Seventeen Mascara; it quickly found it's way into the back of my drawer collecting dust as i didn't enjoy using it at all so i didn't really expect this to be any good either. This mascara claims to have a thickening and conditioning formula enriched with vitamin e and argon oil whilst the big barrel brush sculpt and teases every lash for bigger and bold lashes - the tubes says up to x12 volume.

I do like the big barrel brush on this mascara, i find it coats all the lashes quite easily and it distributes the product quite well across the lashes as i have never once been left with clumpy lashes or smudging and it seems to last pretty well on me as well so it's actually not a bad mascara and i have actually found myself wearing it on a day to day basis (mostly for work)
However; x12 volume, bigger bolder lashes? Very big claims and very little results. It most definitely did not give x12 volume nor did it leave me with bigger bolder lashes - whilst it did add some length it wasn't anything that made me go wow - i can achieve similar if not better results from the million and one other mascaras i own.

I'll continue to use that mascara for work to save it going to waste but to be honest, i wouldn't really recommend it as it does absolutely nothing that it claims, now the eyeliner does actually do what it claims but it's ridiculous how hard it is to remove so id rather stick to alternative products that are much better quality.

Have you tried the Seventeen Blowout Mascara or Tattoo Me Eyeliner?

  1. I have the Tattoo Me eyeliner as well, and I also found it so difficult to remove! I haven't use it in ages, I prefer my gel eyeliners now!

  5. I adore Seventeen products, but I've never tried these! It's a bit of a shame about the mascara though. I always find it hard to find a good value mascara.
