My Current Base Make Up Routine

My Current Base Make Up Routine

For today's post i thought I'd share with you my base make up routine - i do switch this up quite frequently depending on my mood and also if I'm wanting to test any new products out but I'm quite happy with this routine and the product i using at the moment.

My Current Base Make Up Routine

After I've done my morning skincare routine; i like to take my Monu Calming Cream and apply this to any redness, i mostly get redness on my chin and nose area but i find this calming cream really helps to tone it down.

After the calming cream has sunk into the skin i like to apply a face primer; I'm currently using the MUA Matte Perfect Primer, I'm mostly just using this primer at the moment to use it up. It helps to create a lovely smooth base ready for the foundation however, i wouldn't say this is a 'matte' primer.

I'm currently switching between two foundations depending on what I'm after; for general day to say use I've been wearing Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 52 Vanilla but for nights out or special occasions I've been opting for YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation in B30 as it as a heavier coverage and the lack of SPF in it makes it perfect for photos. Sometimes on nights out i add a bit of the Bourjois Healthy Mix into the YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation as together they create a lovely flawless finish.

I then use my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in Ivory to brighten up my under eye area and cover any blemishes or imperfections that need a bit of extra coverage. I really enjoy using this concealer as it has illuminating properties that help to brighten up the skin and help make you look more awake.

This isn't a step i do every time i apply my base make up but if I'm wanting to add a little bronzer into the face or to contour I've been reaching for Benefit Hoola - I've had this for a little while but its only lately I've grown to love it, it blends out really well and gives a really nice sun kissed look to the skin without being muddy.

The next product i apply is blush and I've rediscovered Benefit Bella Bamba and I've fallen back in love with it, i was obsessed with this blush for months when i first bought it and I'm loving using it again. It's such a beautiful blush and it has a added highlight into it which really helps to give definition to the cheeks and it looks so pretty on and it's become a staple in my routine again.

To finish off my base i apply Benefit Get Even Face Powder, i like to use this to set my base in place. I also apply my powder last as i find it really helps to blend out my blush or bronzer and tone it down if I've applied it a little too heavy.

So that is my base make up routine - I'm really happy with my base make up routine at the moment, it gives me plenty of coverage, a really nice finish and a healthy glow to. I may do a Face of the Day in the next couple of weeks so you can see how it looks when worn!

What products do you use in your base make up routine?
