The Rimmel Stay Matte Powder is mentioned and loved by so many bloggers/vloggers - powders to me aren't a product i really invest in, they're just a part of my routine and i tend to use the one powder from start to finish.

After managing to smash up two powders in my bag on nights out (both Benefit ones, might i add) i needed a new one so i decided to see what all the fuss is about and try the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I picked up the shade translucent as i wanted to see how it differs from using a powder that has a shade and i definitely prefer it as it doesn't add any extra colour onto my base, which I've noticed happens sometimes.

The powder applies nicely over the top of my foundation and it doesn't leave that powdery look either and it mattifies the skin, removes any shine and it helps to set my foundation and concealer in place. I do take this on the go with me so that i can top it up and reapply as needed. I like to use this powder with me Essence Mini Kabuki Brush as it applies it evenly and the brush is super soft.

The packaging for this is a bit naff and I'd much prefer the lid to be more secure especially since i always take my powder out with me. This powder is super cheap though - i think it's something like £3.99 so you get what you pay for in terms of packaging.

I've been enjoying having this powder in my collection, it finishes off my make up really nicely and i can understand why so many love it.

Have you tried the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder?

  1. It's too light for me. It looks powdery like using a baby powder.

  2. This is my favourite powder, although it won't be enough to set my foundation and help it last. But it's incredible when it comes to mattifying the skin, like you said, no shine and no cakiness either. Great product!

    1. I really like it, i think its a great product too!
