If you've followed my blog for a while you'll know that i love a good red lip. The latest addition to my collection is the Make Up Revolution Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquer in Keep Trying For You* I've mentioned Make Up Revolution on my blog a few times lately and I'm sure you've heard alot about them as they have literally exploded in the blogging world - if not, they are a relatively new brand that sell really good quality and affordable products.

I have the shade 'Keep Trying For You' which is a very bold true red shade so it's definitely not for people who like a subtle sheer lip as this is very very pigmented, you literally only need one sweep to achieve a full opaque lip. It has a doufat applicator which does help make it easy to apply but I'd recommend taking your time applying it as it's a very stubborn product to remove.

It's a very creamy product to apply so it glides nicely across the lips but i find it a little drying on my lips i dont know if thats because it's a matte formula or if its because my lips are a little dry at the moment but it's feel quite dry so your lips definitely require some some preparation beforehand because it will cling to any dry patches or cracks in the lip. I tend to use a lip scrub to create a smooth lip and then apply lip balm over to moisturise. I'd also recommend using a lip liner underneath as well to get a more defined lip.

The lasting power for this is very impressive once it's full dry, it lasts for about 6-8 hours before it starts to fade in colour and it also lasts pretty well through eating and drinking. I usually reapply my lip products throughout the day/evening but i wouldn't really recommend it too much with this as i find it doesn't layer up very well. I find it goes a bit gloopy and thick so I'd personally avoid reapplying it. I don't think the packaging is anything fancy; it's very simple with gold detailing but it works for the product and what it is.

This isn't my favourite red lip product - i think i may do a post on my most used red lip products - this is a nice product though and for £3 it's a great option for anyone of a budget or for someone who wants to try bolder lip shades without spending a fortune on them.

Have you tried the Make Up Revolution Salvation Velvet Lip Lacquers? What do you think?

  3. I just can't help feeling these are IDENTICAL to MUA's Luxe Lacquers, in fact, I'm entirely convince Make Up Revolution and MUA are the same brand. There's too much similarities in too many products!
