It probably seems a little early to be doing this months 'Products I've Used Up' post but i still had almost half a bag full of empty products that I've used up over the past few months so I've decided to do it early this month because my empties bag never seems to go down because i wait a few weeks in between before posting and it ends up building back up again so here goes.

Also, before i delve into the post can someone give me some good tips on take photos for these posts? As i find them to be an absolute nightmare and the photos never look that great.

Balance Me Shine On Tinted Lip Salve
This was a freebie in a magazine a while ago and I'm a bit of a sucker for tinted lip products. Unfortunately, i wasn't so impressed by this! Don't get me wrong it's a lovely lip product in that it's moisturising and hydrating for the lips but it was not 'tinted' at all, there wasn't even a tiny hint of colour which was really disappointing.

Raspberry Balmi Lip Balm
I used this up ages ago and absolutely loved it. I used it up within a few months and for me that's quite rare as i can be using lip balms for ages because i constantly switch between them. This is a very similar concept to the EOS lip balms; they have the same round shape (i think they were rebranded and are now cubed) and i love it, it makes it so much easier to use and its such a novelty compared to using other lip balms. It was a lovely lip balm and really moisturising on the lips.

Sally Hansen Insta Dri Top Coat
This was a massive let down for me; it did help decrease the drying time a little not much but the thing that let it down the most was that it claimed to be 'Anti-Chip' which this most definitely isn't. This made absolutely no difference in prevent my nails from chipping and they chipped just as easily and as quickly as they would if i hadn't bothered with a top coat at all.

Pearl Drops Beauty Sleep
I used this a while ago and it's just been sat at the bottom of my empties bag waiting to be featured in a post. This is an overnight treatment that helps whiten your teeth whilst you sleep. It doesn't work miracles, i didn't wake up to find a big set of pearly whites but it did make a difference and it made them look more white than they are. This is one of those products that i think if i had a special event coming up and wanted my teeth to look more white id get this as a temporary option.

Bristows Hair Refresh Dry Shampoo
This is a typical bog standard dry shampoo - it refreshes the hair and adds texture. It is one of those that leaves lovely white marks in the hair too but it's nothing a bit of 'jujjing' can't fix, it has a lovely scent and it's a cheap option when you are in need of a dry shampoo.

Elemis Freshskin Skin Glow Exfoliating Face Wash*
I love this and I've used up a few of these both sample and full sized. It's a really great skin care product and it's definitely no stranger to my blog. I used this as a face scrub every few days as opposed to a daily face wash - it's a really gentle exfoliator and every time i use it, my skin feels amazing. It's really clarifying and refreshing and i honestly can't say enough good things about it.

Mitchum Advanced 48 Hour Protection Deodorant in Powder Fresh
Mitchum is the only deodorant i use nowadays - i feel like it keeps me protected and it doesn't leave any white marks either like some deodorants can do. I honestly can't comment on whether it actually lasts for 48hours as i do wash in between that time but i do find it lasts me really well throughout the day.

Shu Uemure Skin Purifier Cleansing Oil
This is actually a really good at removing make up even really stubborn products like eyeliner and mascara, it breaks down the product making it much easier to remove. I probably wouldn't buy this again just because it's quite expensive and I've used much cheaper alternatives that are just as good - i also really disliked the scent of this one.

Garnier Intensive 7 Days Nourishing Lotion
This is a really lovely body lotion that i decided to pick up after trialling the sachets for 7 days and being able to do a skin test to see whether it actually improved the hydration in the skin which it did. So it's definitely worth looking into if you are someone who has quite dry skin - it's really moisturising and hydrating and it leaves the skin feeling nice and soft too. It's really affordable and it really works too.

Batiste Cherry Dry Shampoo
I tend to steer away from Batiste most of the time because i think it's a bit of a rip off - it's so overpriced for what it is and i think for the price it isn't all that great. I do pick it up sometimes when it's on offer and I'm in need of a new dry shampoo but i only every get the cherry one as i like the scent of it. Like most dry shampoos it's give texture and refreshes the hair in between washes.

and that is all the products I've used up that were left over in my empties bag. I'm sure it'll be filled up again in no time as i want to try and use up a lot of the products i own as i have ridiculous amount for just one person so i want to try and use more of the up before buying anymore as i hate that some of them are just sitting there not being used.

What products are you used up recently?

  1. Nice products! I too was disappointed with the Insta-Dri topcoat, not only did it chip, the whole thing turned into thick plastic before I could even finish the bottle! Haha x
