Top 5 | Eyeshadow Palettes

 photo DSCF2151_zps2089c38e.jpg

Looking over all my collection to find the products to feature in this top 5 series has scared me a little bit because it has made me realise just how much make up i own. Over the years, I've accumulated quite a few eyeshadow palettes so i found narrowing it down to my top 5 quite difficult. After much deliberation i think I've finally decided on which are my top 5 palettes.

Urban Decay Naked Basics
This is such a handy and versatile palette; it may only be small and have 6 shades but you can achieve so much with it that you definitely get your monies worth. They're all matte shades and all are natural too so you can easily work with them to create both daytime and evening looks too. There's a shade suitable for highlighting, one that's great for filling in the brows and you could even use the black shade as a liner. They're really good quality eyeshadows and it's such a handy sized palette that makes it ideal for travelling or taking on the go.

Make Up Revolution Iconic 2 Palette*
This is actually a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette (which i also love) but i didn't want this top 5 to just consist of all the Urban Decay palettes. So if you are a looking for a cheaper alternative this is definitely one to check out - they're really good quality too - they're is 12 eyeshadow shades with a mixture of matte and shimmery - my personal favourite is shade number 10 (silly palette doesn't have individual names) I don't quite know how to describe the shade but paired with a crease colour and some liner it's a really lovely eye look.

Urban Decay Naked Palette
As i mentioned above, i love all my Naked palettes but the original one wins me over every time. It's filled with warm toned nudes and it has my personal favourite eyeshadow 'sin' - it's mixed with 12 shades both matte and shimmery shades and this has every colour in it you could possibly need to cover both day and night. The only thing i don't enjoy about this palette is the packaging because it's velvet which i can't cope with.

Benefit World Famous Neutrals in Sexiest Nudes Ever Eyeshadow Kit*
I'll be honest, i don't use this half as much as i should but it's such a gorgeous palette. The nudes are purple toned which isn't a colour i tend to lean towards but these are just beautiful and it's the palette i always go to when i want something different but don't want to stray too far away from a neutral look. I love this palette because its quite minimal but it also gives you cream bases and a little booklet with tips in it.

Too Faced Naked Eye Palette
I think this was the first palette i ever bought and it still remains a firm favourite. The shades in this are so beautiful and you can create some really lovely eye looks with it. It also comes with little cards showing you how to create different looks to which is great for beginners or people who might want a little extra help. They're really good quality eyeshadows and as you can tell from the photos my favourite shade out of the palette is pillow talk.

As you've probably noticed their is a running theme of neutral shades with all my palettes - i rarely step out of my comfort zone when it comes to eyeshadow, i love neutrals and i love how versatile they are and how you can adjust them to the intensity that you want.

What's your favourite eyeshadow palette?

  4. Lovely selection, I am a palette junkie & seem to have an addiction to buying neutral palettes. The Makeup Revolution one is so nice & I like the look of the Too Faced one. I have been reaching for my MUA Undress Me Too Palette a lot this month
