I didn't really have the intention of picking up one of these L'Oreal L'Extraordinaire Colour Riche Liquid Lipsticks - I'd read about them and they seemed nice enough but it was only Boots being on 3 for 2 and needing a 3rd product (they didn't have the product i actually wanted) that made me pick one up and I'm so glad i did.

I really like the packaging of these; they have a doe foot applicator which i really like - i find it make its really easy to apply the product. The golden packaging is really sleek and it's a nice compact size too so it's easy to throw into your make up bag and it won't take up much space.

The shade i opted for was Rose Melody which is a lovely light pink - it looks slightly muted in the photos but it's a really pretty almost baby pink shade, it has a slight shimmer to it which isn't something i normally like but it's so subtle in this that i actually don't mind it. It does apply a little sheer but it still has a good colour pay off and It has a nice creamy formula which feels really pleasant on the lips. These product are described as a liquid lipstick but if I'm being honest I'd say they are more like a lip gloss.

It doesn't last as long as you would expect a liquid lipstick to last but i find it lasts a good few hours on me - however, like with all lip products i do reapply them a frequently so if you are after a product that you only need apply once this may not be for you. I however, really like this lip product a lot more than i even anticipated that i would - I've been really enjoying pairing it with Kiko Ultra Glossy Stylo Lipstick in 803, i did a post on the lip look which you can read here.

These do retail for £8.99 which is a little pricey for something that i would say is more of a lip gloss but it really is a lovely lip product and i personally think its worth the price and I definitely want to check out the other shades they have!

Monthly Favourites | May

 photo DSCF9096_zps90f12d20.jpg

It's freaking me out a great deal at how quick this year is going - how the heck is it June on Sunday?! I just don't understand! I've got quite a few favourites this months; i actually had a hard time trying to narrow it down as there were other items i wanted to include too. I feel like this month has been quite a good month for me - I've done so many great things and i've had a lot of fun (literally, my non favourites would be way too long if i included everything)

Beauty Favourites:

UBU Wonder Wheel Foundation Sponge Circle
I used to use sponges all the time when i was younger but i abandoned them for brushes but lately I've just been quite unsatisfied with using brushes so when i saw this little pack of sponges for 49p i decided to give them another go and I've really been loving using them. I use them for both my foundation and my concealer and it blends both of them out really nicely and I've really been liking the finish it gives my base.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in Nude Delight
I've been using this a lot lately on my waterline as the nude shade is a great way to really open up and brighten up the eyes - I'm a bit of a night out so when I'm up early for work this has been a great way to at least make myself look more awake. They are brilliant quality, really pigmented and creamy - they literally just glide along the eye and they are so affordable. Read my review here.

L'Oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick in Rose Melody
I featured this in my recent lip look post here - as it's been one of my go to lip products of late. It's described as a liquid lipstick but I'd say it's more like a lipgloss. It has great colour pay off - this particular shade is a gorgeous light pink, it has a it of shimmer in there but its actually nice and subtle. It's quite long lasting and has a really creamy formula and I've just been loving wearing it.

Britney Spears Fantasy Perfume
I used to use this perfume ages ago in high school and it was one of my favourites as it has the most lovely sweet and floral scent. My mum got it for me again at Christmas and I've been loving wearing it again, i almost forgot just how much of a lovely scent this is - i receive a lot of compliments off people telling me how nice i smell when i wear this.

Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint & Pencil
I can't express how much i adore this product - it has made doing my brows so much easier and i just love the results it gives. I really like using both ends of the product; i use the pencil on a more day to day basis and the tint i use more for evenings/nights out - both sides give really full and natural looking brows. Read my review here.

Gosh Forever Eyeshadow Metallic Eye Shadow Stick in Silver Rose & Brown
I'm a big fan of eyeshadow pencils; they are so quick and easy and Gosh have really impressed me with their offerings. I love wearing the two shades together to create a smokey eye look - it's so easy to do and it looks like you've spent more time on it than you actually have. They blend together really easy and they are so long lasting - they literally stay in place from morning til late at night! Read my review here.

Blackhead Killer Peel Off Masks*
I'm quite lucky to not really suffer with blackheads i do have a few on my nose but these also help to remove impurities, pimples and excess oils. I really enjoy using this face mask, i find face masks a great way to pamper myself and this is a peel off mask too which gives me a great deal of satisfaction, i love peeling it off - is that weird? However, i will say one thing peeling this off is rather painful. This mask always leaves my skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth and i really like using these masks. Read my review here.

Blogger/Youtube Favourite:
This months Blogger favourite is Vicky from Lets Talk Beauty - I've actually been following her blog for ages now and it never fails to disappoint. Her blog focuses mostly around make up and skincare but her posts are brilliant, she has a really nice writing style and her posts are always really informative. I've been lucky to meet Vicky in person and she is every bit as lovely as she comes across on her blog and twitter - if you are not already following her blog - id definitely recommend doing it!

Non-Beauty Favourites:

Blackpool
Myself and my friends had been on about going to Blackpool Pleasure Beach for the day as it had been ages since we'd all been and we finally did at the beginning of the month. It was such a great day despite the drizzly rain and we went on loads of ride - i finally went on the Big One which I'm so proud of myself for as i always chicken out last minute. Overall it was a really great day and i hope we go back soon!

Dawson's Creek
I decided to watch Dawson's Creek from the beginning as it's a show I've only seen odd episodes of but never actually watched all the way through. I actually really enjoyed it, it's a typical American teen drama with all the usual love triangles and scenarios but i really enjoyed watching and i grew very fond of Pacey Whitter.

 photo DSCF9100_zpse49c39d6.jpg

Think, Write, Create Notebook
This notebook was a present from my lovely friend Gemma (@Zilmeg) for my birthday and i just love it. I didn't use it for a little while because whenever i get new notebooks i don't like messing them up so it takes me a bit of time to actually write in them (I'm weird, i know) but I've been using this for my blog and its really helped keep me organised - it has a different sections like overviews of the month, weekly planner, contacts, notes, checklists and others too and its just so helpful and its a really gorgeous design too so I'm loving this a lot!

Mcbusted
I went to see Mcbusted the other week (see my post here) and i bloody loved it, i felt like i did my inner 13 year old self proud as i never got to see Busted when they we're together. It was a really brilliant night and they put on such an amazing show!

Music Favourite:

Sixpence None the Richer - Kiss Me
I feel like this is such a random music favouite as this is such an old song but I've been loving it listening to it lately. Its one of those songs that i think everyone knows and it's such a 90s classic, i just love singing along to it!

What are your favouites for the month of May?

Filling in my brows is something that although I've been doing it for a while i still feel like I'm learning about whats the best way to do my brows and what products are the best for filling them in. I did originally have my eye on the Anastacia Brow Wiz as it is constantly being praised in the beauty world but then i started seeing more and more people rave about Soap & Glory's offering so i decided to give it a go myself.

The Soap & Glory Archery Brow Tint and Pencil is quite possibly the best £10 i have ever spent -  I wasn't sure if I'd be any good at using this as whenever i fill in my brows i never get the results that other people seem to do when using these type of products but the very first time i used this i was so impressed and i really loved how it made my eyebrows look - like i literally could not stop staring at them.

It's a dual ended product; one side is a pencil and the other is like a felt tip pen - i actually really like both sides and use both of them. I tend to use the pencil side to fill in my brows for work and on a more everyday basis as it grooms and fills my brows and it looks really natural too - also because the pencil is slightly waxy it holds the brow in place. I use the felt tip side mostly on evenings and nights out as it's a little more bolder - it is still very natural looking and you could easily wear this day to day i just like using this more on evenings.

The shade i have is 'Brownie Points' which even though on the swatches it does look like its more of a light brown it actually matches my brows pretty well (mine are quite dark) It applies enough colour to fill in your brows and make them look fuller but its not so much that it looks like you've used a sharpie on them (if that makes sense) Its just gives the perfect amount of colour to give you really natural and full looking brows.

This is so easy to use; I'm a complete noob when it comes to my brows but this products makes it so much easier for me to fill in my brows and get really good results. With this my brows look fuller and much more neater and groomed but they still look really natural. If you are looking for a new eyebrow product i would honestly recommend checking this out - £10 may seem a lot but it is worth every single penny!

I recently downsized my handbag (you can see the bag I'm using here) as i was constantly switching over my bag to a smaller one when i was heading out for an evening and i was also just getting a little tired of carrying around a large bag. Whilst i do love having a big bag i always find that i ended up carrying more around things with me than i need to because i have the extra space.

I didn't really have any intention of downsizing my purse but when i came across this blog post, i loved the purse so much that i had a browse on ebay and bought myself one. I did have a look to see what other designs i could find and i picked up this grey purse for £3.49.

It's such handy purse because if you are one of those people who likes to just take their purse with them when they are nipping out there is a section to slot your Iphone into and it has spaces in the side so you can use your headphones or charge up your phone - the purse comes with a removable strap and has a space for your cards, a pocket for coins and a little section where i like to put my receipts in.

I'm really made up with this purchase; it's such a handy purse and it's much better quality than the price tag would suggest. I bought mine from this seller here.

Lip Look | Glossy Pink Lips

I'm very fickle when it comes to changing my lip colour; it varies depending on my mood so one day i may go for natural and the next i could be daring and going for a bold red lip - i can never predict what colour i may feel like wearing so when i find myself repeatedly wearing the same lip combination on a near enough daily basis - it is a big deal!

Lately, i've found myself reaching for the same two lip products and together they create a really lovely glossy pink lip! For this lip look i apply Kiko Ultra Glossy Stylo Lipstick in 803 first; which is one of my favourite everyday pink nudes - it has a very similar formula to a lip butter so it's really moisturising on the lips yet has the pigmentation of a lipstick so you get the best of both worlds. This lipstick is really lovely worn alone but i love adding L'Oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick in Rose Melody over the top as it has a slight shimmer and it gives the lips a really lovely glossy finish.

This is one of those lip combinations that works for everything; it's natural enough for day to day wear including work but its also a great colour to dress up your make up too, this is the perfect shade to go with a smokey eye!

What has been your go to lip look?

Beauty Mistakes I Used To Make

 photo DSCF9078_zps7dc38a0c.jpg

I'm sure I'm not the only one that committed a number of beauty sins when they were younger; i often wonder what the heck i was thinking when i think of all the many beauty mistakes i made, i thought it might be an interesting and funny post to share with you some of the sins i committed.

1. Panda Eyes
I used to wear black eyeshadow all over my lid - thankfully I'm pretty sure it had terrible colour pay off so it was more like a dark grey but still, it wasn't a good look and i don't know what i was thinking or why my mum ever let me go out wearing it. It didn't suit me and i can only imagine it didn't look so great underneath my glasses either!

2. Scrunchies
Scrunchies were massive when i was younger; i think they are slowly making a comeback but when i was in primary school i used to love wearing them and i don't mean just one, i used to layer those bad boys up especially if i had my hair in a bun. I seriously thought i was the bees knees.

3. Foundation Shades
Before you start to panic i was never in the 'oompa lumpa' category - their used to be a lot of girls in my high school who came in with full on orange faces but i don't think i have ever been guilty of that. I was however, not very careful with matching my shade - i would literally just pick any up and hope for the best and most of the time it was an alright match but its only has I've gotten older that I've understood the importance of getting the right shade.

4. Necklines
Another foundation problem - i never used to blend my foundation past my face. Now i don't recall having any bad necklines which either means i was lucky and it blended in or my random shade choices were bloody good but i know i never used to take my foundation further down so it was blended out properly into the neck.

5. Not taking my make up off
I used to be seriously lazy with this - I'll hold my hand up and say i still have some lazy evenings when i can't be bothered doing it properly so i either use a wipe or just my micellar water but when i was younger some nights I'd just leave it on and wash it off in the morning then reapply it, how my skin coped with it I'll never know but i was terribly lazy with removing my make up - i can definitely say I've gotten much better and always make sure I've removed my make up whether i do it a lazy way or properly.

6. Green Eyes
When i wasn't sporting a black eyeshadow i seemed to be quite fond of green - why, I'm not quite sure because now i would never dream of using a green eyeshadow on me. It's just not really a colour i suit and why i thought it was trendy to wear I'll never know.

7. Eyebrows
I never used to do anything with my brows at all - I've always had quite full brows and whilst i love them i didn't really help them out either. I hated tweezing them as i found it painful so i just left them to their own devices and thankfully they didn't grow wild.

8. Temporary Tattoos
Using these wasn't the mistake it was more my choices of which ones and the placement of them that I'd consider the mistake. I'd always pick the worst ones like tweety bird or tacky tribal patterns (sorry, if you have either of these - they are just not to my taste) and id always put them in the worst places like right in the middle of my stomach or slap bang in the middle of my arm. I also used to be that really annoying kid that would walk around and pretend it was real!

There are so many other sins that I'm sure i committed but I'll save that for another post! For the record, i just want to point out and say that I'm not trying to be insulting - just because i may have considered something as a beauty mistake doesn't mean it's a mistake for you!

What beauty mistakes did you used to make?

Review | Style Lux Blackhead Killer Peel Off Mask

 photo DSCF9006_zps1ea9b0ed.jpg

I was very kindly sent this 5 Pack Blackhead Killer Peel Off Mask* (I used one before i took any photos which is why there are only four in the image) from Stylelux - now I'm pretty lucky when it comes to blackhead as i don't have too many only a couple that linger around my nose area, however i was eager to try these because after reading up on them on their website - this mask is also supposed to remove pimples, blackheads, impurities and excess oils so i was very interested in giving it a try in the hope that i can maybe remove the blemishes that have taken resident on my chin - they are seriously starting to push their luck now!

I love using a good face mask, it's the perfect pick me up when you've had a bit of a crap day and when they promise amazing results it's even better. This mask is a thick black consistency that spreads around the face quite easily and like with most face mask it leaves you looking ridiculous but that's part of the fun right?! It recommends leaving this for 10 minutes but i actually leave it a bit longer as i find with the consistency being quite thick 10 minutes isn't enough for it to dry. This mask is a peel off; which i really like - i find it rather satisfying, it's kind of like when you got PVA glue on your hands in an art lesson and then you got to peel it off or maybe that was just me? but yeah, this is very satisfying to peel off the face however i am not going to lie, it bloody hurts!!

After I've peeled it all off, i tend to wipe over my face with some micellar water to remove any excess bits that i may have missed to peel off and then i moisturise. It may hurt to peel off but my skin felt incredible afterwards, like I'm talking babysoft smooth. I haven't noticed it removing things like it says but maybe it's too early to say or ill see more results when I've used the rest of them? Either way, i do actually quite like these masks and i love how soft they leave my skin!

Review | Gosh Forever Eyeshadow Metallic Eye Shadow Sticks

I seem to have a grown a little bit of an obsession with eyeshadow sticks and i recently saw these Gosh Forever Eyeshadow Metallic Eyeshadow Sticks mentioned in someones haul post (sorry, i don't remember which blog i read it on) and before i knew it i was at the Gosh stand in Superdrug with my hand covered in swatches.

Before anything i was quite surprised at the price of these; whilst Gosh may not be High End its prices tend to be a little higher up on the scale (think L'Oreal, Revlon, Maybelline kind of prices)so i was rather impressed to see that these eyeshadow sticks retail for £3.99 - I'd have expected to see them to be a little higher but who am i to complain, thanks to the lovely low prices two of these made their way home with me. Now I'm not sure if £3.99 is the permanent price because according to the Superdrug website they are £5.99 but I'm so impressed with these that they are still worth that price anyway. The packaging of these are also really nice; it has a kind of mirror effect to it and they look like they cost much more than they actually did.

The range of shades available are fairly neutral but there is a green, blue and plummy shade thrown into the mix too, the two shades i opted for won't really be much of surprise as i went for really neutral shades - i got 'Silver Rose' which is a really beautiful silvery taupe that has a subtle purple undertone and 'Brown' which is a cool toned chocolate brown that has a slight gold shimmer to it. These have a really creamy formula and they glide over the eyes really gently, they are really pigmented and take very minimal effort to apply - these really are the perfect lazy way to achieve an eye look that looks like its taken a lot more time.

You can use these as eyeliners too but i prefer to use them as eyeshadow sticks; I've really been loving wearing 'Silver Rose' all over the lid and then blending 'Brown' into the outer corner and a little into the crease, it creates a really nice subtle smokey eye and it takes barely any effort! They do have a metallic finish which is usually something i avoid as it's just not for me but i actually like the finish these have and the staying power of these is pretty amazing - the other day i applied these at around 11am in the morning and they were still going strong past midnight, there was no creasing at all and the colour was still visible too. I was so impressed with the staying power as most cream eyeshadow sticks like this tend to crease after a while but these didn't do that at all.

I'm so tempted to go back to Superdrug and pick up some more shades because i have fallen head over heels for these eyeshadow sticks; they are such good quality and give amazing results and i would genuinely recommend them to anyone who likes to create quick and effortless eye looks!

McBusted | Fotd & Night

So, last night i went to see McBusted in Liverpool Echo Arena - when i was younger i was a massive fan of both bands; I've been lucky enough to see Mcfly about 5 times but Busted split before i had the chance to see them so when i heard they were forming McBusted for a one off tour, i just knew i had to get tickets and go see them and make 13 year old me very happy.

Lips: Kiko Ultra Glossy Stylo Lipsticks in 803 | L'Oreal LExtraordinaire Liquid Lipstick in Rose Melody

I thought I'd share with you the make up i wore and also a few photos of the evening - I kept my make up quite simple and natural, mostly because id been in work in the daytime and ended up staying in work longer than i was supposed too so i was quite tired and didn't really want a make up look that was going to require a lot of touch ups and my attention.

It was such an amazing evening and I'm so glad i was able to get tickets; i didn't even realise just how good our seats were until we got there, we was pretty close to the front! I'm sorry my photos aren't amazing quality, i took them on my phone but i hope they give you a good glimpse into the evening. If you're due to go see them soon you are in for a treat; they put on such a good show - they have everything from confetti, a mini UFO stage and three inflatable breasts.

I loved hearing all the classic Busted and Mcfly songs - it's just impossible not to dance and sing along to them. I had such a brilliant night and i feel i did my inner 13 year old proud and fulfilled the goal of finally getting to see Busted (kind of) and Mcfly are awesome so I'm always happy to see them live!

Review | Born Pretty Store

 photo ba663cb891a611e2ac9b22000a1fb864_7_zpsd4697e41.jpg

I was recently contacted by a very lovely lady from Born Pretty Store who very kindly offered to send me some products being a big make up enthuasiast this was not an offer i could refuse. This was my first experience with Born Pretty Store and i can honestly say it provided an excellent service; the site sells extremely affordable cosmetics so if you are someone who is on a budget this website is definitely worth checking out because it was definitely not hurt your bank balance too much! The products arrived really quickly; i was told to wait between 2-4 weeks as the product were being shipped from overseas but mine came after about a week - so it was very efficient! I was lucky enough to be able to choose two products so i opted for the Bright Colored Natural Cream Moisture Gloss* and Musthave Highlighting Stick*

 photo DSCF7447_zps6bf9b3ac.jpg

 photo DSCF7455_zps022aa35c.jpg

Musthave Highlighting Stick*
I'm a bit obsessed with creating a nice glow to the skin so i knew i had to try this highlighter out - i opted for shade #2 which is more of a pink based highlighter as i feel the pink tones compliment my skin tone much better. I really like that this highlighter is in the same format as a lipstick it makes application really easy and theres no chance of over doing it. The highlighter itself is a lovely shade, it's blends out quite easy and it's not heavily pigmented so you can build it up to a glow thats more to your preferance, i also like a subtle glow so i like that i can work this to how i want it. The only negative thing i have to say about this is that it does have small specks of glitter in it - i know highlighte is meant to be shimmery but if you over apply this the glitter can give you a bit of a disco ball effect.

 photo DSCF7431_zps543f1f83.jpg

 photo DSCF7437_zps6d7aefdf.jpg

Bright Colored Natural Cream Moisture Gloss*
The second product i chose was this lipstick; at the moment im really drawn to orange/coral shades so i opted for shade #8 which is a really beautiful light peachy orange. I'll be honest and say i didnt have very high expectations of this lipstick but im actually quite impressed; it has a really creamy formula, i didn't quite expect it to be so moisturising on the lips. It literally glides onto the lips so effortlessly and it has an unusual finish to it - i'd say it has a bit of a satin finish as it leans more towards being matte but it still has a bit of a sheen to it. I do reapply my lip products frequently throughout the day but this did last about 3/4 hours before i felt it needing touching up, that was without having food or drink so it may differ with those. I'm really impressed with the quality of this lipstick and i think the packaging of it is really cute too!

The lovely people of Born Pretty Store have also provided a 10% off coupon code for any of you lovely readers that are interested in making an order - using the coupon code JSH10 so definitely make sure you take advantage of that!
