Make Up I've Used Up #1

 photo DSCF2138_zps06df71ef.jpg

I've decided to make a change from my 'Products I've Used Up/Empties' posts as I'm tired of constantly having a bag of empty products lying around my room, i find them really difficult to photograph and not only that i find them a little boring to write up.

So instead I've decided that only empty products I'm going to share with you is make up products - i think it's a lot harder to use up make up products completely so it will be an interesting challenge. Slight warning, this post is quite mascara heavy - a lot of these I've had for a little while and are due to be thrown out but i haven't out of pure stubbornness.

Essence I Love Punk Jumbo Eyeliner Pen
I'm a big fan of felt tip liners so i love trying lots of different ones to see which i can use easiest and get the best results from. This is essentially like a giant marker pen designed to make it much easier to get a clean line however, i didn't enjoy using this liner. There is nothing wrong with it at all, it works fine but i just found that i preferred others to this one. It does the job though, so if you need something cheap this is worth looking into.

Essence Lashes Go Wild Volume Mascara*
I actually really liked this mascara - i initially picked it because i was intrigued by the tube packaging but i actually thought it was a decent mascara. It added a nice bit of length and volume to the lashes too.

Kiko 30 Days Extension: Day and Night Mascaras
I tried these out for a month before my cousins wedding because if they did work and give a lash extension it seemed like good timing. The daily mascara wasn't great - it was quite smudgy and always transferred onto the skin around the eyes which was annoying and although it did add a little length to the lashes it didn't do anything great. The night mascara was just a clear serum - it felt really strange applying a mascara a night but i definitely preferred this one out of the two. Overall, i definitely did notice my lashes seemed a little bit longer - it was nothing amazing and i don't think I'd run out and get it again but it did make a slight difference.

Clinique High Impact Mascara
This is such a good mascara - i got this free with a magazine and i didn't expect such good results but it seriously impressed me. It added loads of length to my lashes and it separated them really well too - i definitely want to try and get a full size of this.

Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara
This was one of those mascaras that i liked using and thought it gave good results but i also expected a little more from it. Don't get me wrong, it added a nice amount of length to the lashes but considering it's called 'The Falsies' i expected it to have a false lash effect. It's still a really good mascara though.

Witch Tea Tree Spot Concealer
I don't normally like concealers like this but for some reason i found myself really liking this and using it on a daily basis. It covered my blemishes really well and i don't know if it was because of this but i noticed that I've had fewer blemishes since.

Essence Lash Mania Waterproof Mascara*
I didn't get along with this mascara very well - i found it left my lashes quite clumpy and spidery and i really didn't like that.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
It's been ages since i finished this up but this was one of those concealers that i liked but it didn't blow me away. I found that the shade for this was slightly orange which put me off quite a lot so maybe a lighter shade would be better suited as it did have decent coverage.

Magnifibres Brush On Lashes
It took me a while to get the hang of this - at first i was applying too much and the fibres kept going into my eye but after a while i grew really fond of this product as it was a great way of getting longer lashes without having to mess around with false ones. I also noticed that the results differed depending on what mascara you used too.

So Susan Flutter Mascara
Considering this is a high end mascara it definitely didn't do as much as it should have and i can understand why a lot of people don't like this mascara. I, however, really liked that it gave such natural looking lashes and i enjoying using it on day to day basis. I wouldn't pay the asking price for it because i do have mascaras that i prefer more but i did like how it made my lashes look.

Sheer Cover Base Perfector
I liked using this primer as it was great to use before applying foundation because it gave the skin a really smooth and even base, which made applying make up on top much easier and nicer - it looked much better too. It had almost a silicone type texture to it, it reminded me a little bit of the Smash Box Photo Finish Primer in that respect.

Cosmetics A La Carte Divine Lash Mascara
This was such a disappointing mascara - i got it in a Love Me Beauty box and it was actually the sole reason i wanted it but it was such a let down. For £23, you'd think it would be a pretty damn good mascara but i found it was really average. It doesn't separate the lashes very well and a lot of the time it resulted in quite clumpy lashes. I didn't enjoy the brush on this either because the bristles are really short which i think is partly to blame because it wasn't very good at distributing the product evenly which resulted in the clumping.

Benefit They're Real Mascara
I'm not going to howl on about this one too much because you guys already know how much i love it. It's probably one of my all time favourite mascaras - it just makes my lashes so lovely and long. The brush is amazing, it works really well at separating each lash which in turn gives you really full looking lashes. It's just such a good mascara and I'm sad that I've used this one up.

Next time i do this post, there probably won't be as many products as this one because as you know it can take ages to use up a make up product. There will probably be less mascaras too, most of these are what I've been hoarding in my collection and too stubborn to throw away until i had a clear out last week.

What make up have you used up recently?
