INIKA Face in a Box Starter Kit: Nuture

INIKA Face in a Box Starter Kit: Nuture

Mineral Make Up is something I've never really ventured in to, it's definitely something I've been curious to try but i didn't really know which brand i should start off with and I'm generally a little sceptical about how a loose powder can compare to the coverage of my trusty liquid foundations. Finally able to ease my curiosity, I've spent the past few weeks testing out the INIKA Face In a Box: Nuture* - the perfect starter kit for novices like myself who don't really know where to start with mineral make up. You might want to get a drink as this is going to be a bit of a long one.

INIKA is a brand I've never tried before but it's a brand that prides itself on being 100% natural and ethical. All of their products are certified organic or vegan, certified Halal
and cruelty free - so if you are someone who is very conscious of the products they use, it may be worth looking into INIKA.

The Face in a Box: Nuture Kit retails for £49.95 which is definitely on the pricey side but you do get quite a selection of products, it contains: INIKA Certified Organic Mineral Foundation - Nurture (3g), INIKA Mineral Bronzer - Sunkissed (3.5g), INIKA Vegan Kabuki Brush, INIKA Vegan Contouring Brush, INIKA Makeup Bag and trial sizes of INIKA Certified Organic Liquid Mineral Foundation - Beige, INIKA Natural Perfection Certified Organic Concealer - Light (4ml) and INIKA Certified Organic Pure Primer (4ml) - so i think the price tag can be justified in that respect considering the Mineral Foundation alone retails for £27.50. The Nuture kit that i have is for light to medium skin tones but there are different kits available to suit a wide variety of skin tones.

This kit has definitely made me look at mineral make up in a completely different way - whilst it hasn't fully replaced my love for liquid foundations, i have really been enjoying this lighter alternative and have found that the mineral foundation has become a staple item in my day to day routine. I didn't think a mineral foundation would have much of an impact on the skin especially in terms of coverage but it really does. I like to buff the INIKA Certified Organic Mineral Foundation in Nurture* into my skin with the INIKA Vegan Kabuki Brush* and together they work really well - the kabuki brush has cruelty-free synthetic bristles and it is incredible soft. The brush is designed specifically to work with the mineral foundations and it's thick, dense brush head which helps to give a more flawless finish.

The foundation itself is a multi product and acts as a concealer, foundation and powder all in one - lazy girls dream product. A little bit definitely goes a long way as well, as it's powder i felt like I'd have to over compensate on the product to get the right amount of coverage and i soon learned that this definitely was not the case. You only need a small amount to get good coverage and a flawless finish and because it's such a lightweight product it feels like you are aren't really wearing anything and i can imagine it's going to be a perfect base product throughout the warmer months - it also has an SPF in it too!

You also get the INIKA Mineral Bronzer in Sunkissed* in the kit - perfect for adding a slight contour to the face or a lovely sunkissed glow. Like the foundation it's very lightweight and a little bit goes a long way, as it's an orange toned bronzer too much can leave you a little muddy looking so i like to apply a very small amount and build it up if needed. The INIKA Vegan Contouring Brush* is a really lovely brush, it's so soft and has cruelty free synthetic bristles. At first, i was a little baffled by the size of it as i tend to use larger brushes for contouring but the smaller head is perfect for a contouring the facial features more accurately.

I really like that you get three trail size products in the kit as well as it's a good way to try some extra products out from the brand. The INIKA Certified Organic Pure Primer* is really good at creating a nice even base ready for make up. The formula is quite similar to a moisturiser in that it's quite hydrating and soothing on the skin and because its mixed with shea butter, apricot and avocado it also protects and prepares the skin too.

The INIKA Certified Organic Natural Perfection Concealer in Light* I'm not too crazy about but saying that I'm not easy to please when it comes to concealer at all. It has a medium coverage which is great for under the eyes but i find that the formula isn't easy to blend in and it almost separates and moves around on the skin when you try to blend it out.

I can only really give a brief comment on the  INIKA Certified Organic Liquid Mineral Foundation in Beige* as the colour isn't right for my skin tone so even though i have tried it on my skin once or twice I've not worn it long enough to give an accurate review on it. However, the formula does seems really nice, it's easy to blend in and does leave the skin with a nice finish.

I'm really glad i got the opportunity to try out this kit by INIKA because it's definitely opened my eyes to how lovely mineral make up is and I've learned that you can actually get an amazing flawless finish with it. INIKA is a more expensive brand but it's a really good quality brand and it's ethos is inspiring!
