Life Lately #7 | Business Cards, Birthdays and a New Camera

It's been an eventful few days this past week or so and i just really felt like sitting down and sharing a few things with you. It's been ages since i last did an update lifestyle post as i was struggling with which format i preferred and i don't know if you've noticed but I've not been posting as frequently on 'youralmostalice' as i used to and that's just because I've taken a more laid back approach to blogging, I've been blogging as and when rather than restricting myself to a schedule and I've found myself taking more time and effort with each post. I've stopped putting posts up for the sake of it and removing the pressure off my shoulders as made me love blogging even more.

Life Lately #7 | Business Cards, Birthdays and a New Camera

So what's been going on? This past week i reached the grand old age of 24 - each birthday scares me because I'm getting further and further into adulthood and i just don't feel like an adult. This year has definitely been the best birthday I've ever had - I'm someone who never really puts much thought into celebrating their birthday because whenever i have in the past I've been let down by someone and it's disheartening so i reached a point when i just stopped bothering. This year however, i decided to arrange a meal for a small selection of people and i had the most wonderful evening. I truly have the most amazing group of friends and it made me so happy knowing they wanted to be their to celebrate with me and it was such an hilarious evening too.

I'm hoping you can notice a difference in the photo quality of today's post - my wonderful grandparents bought me the camera that i have been pining over for quite a while for my birthday and i am so happy. I'm still learning how to use it and all the different settings but i already notice a massive difference in the quality so i hope you can too. The camera i got was the Canon EOS M Compact System Camera - if you'd like me to do an individual post on it and talk a bit more about it then do let me know!

Continuing with my blog; I've been wanting business cards for my blog for ages but I've always been wary of how they might turn out or where would be best to get them printed so when i saw another blogger (Gold Dust) mention that she had found an offer to get 50 business cards free from Moo.com, i decided to have a look for the offer myself. Now i didn't find the same offer as she did but i did find 10 free business cards (also, from Moo.com) and you didn't have to pay postage either so i didn't pay a single thing. I know 10 isn't many but it's plenty for me to see if i like them and if i actually use them. I'm absolutely thrilled with them and i think the design is really simple and coherent with my blog's theme too - i also love carrying them around with me, i feel so professional!

I really hope you are enjoying my blog as I'm really proud of it at the moment and I'm enjoying posting more than ever before.

What have you been up to lately?

  1. I think your business cards are awesome. I won 1000 in a giveaway which was actually a bit of a pain because it was way too many but I did like using them. I recycled them when I moved house because I just wasn't able to justify the space that they took up!
