Spring Update | Make Up

Spring is one of my favourite seasons as all pastels and florals start to appear and everyone just seems to be in a much brighter mood knowing that summer will soon be on it's way. As the seasons start to change so does my everyday make up and now that Spring time is slowly approaching (literally slowly, what is with this freezing cold wind?) it's time to switch it all up and bring out the more lighter and brighter products.

I'm a big fan of a lighter base anyways but as the sun starts to come out and the days get warmer a lightweight base is a must for me. My job can be quite physical at times and when its warm the last thing i want is to be wearing a heavy foundation that's just going to end up sliding off my face after I've been running up and down the stairs so a base like the Inika Mineral Foundation in Nuture* is ideal because it barely feels like you're wearing anything.

Another foundation i intend to get more use out of during Spring is the Korres Ginger & Vitamin Foundation in LF1 - It's a lightweight foundation, almost like a tinted moisturiser or a BB cream but it offers a bit more coverage than the mineral foundation for any days that my skin needs a little extra helps. Bronzer isn't something i tend to wear a lot of on a day to day basis but i the Topshop Bronzer in Mohawk is going to be a staple for me in the during Spring/Summer as it's nice and light. It doesn't have a very heavy pigmentation so it's great for give a subtle sun kissed look.

I switch up my blushes constantly and in spring time i love a rosy look to the cheeks so I've pulled out a few options; first up is of course my trusty Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Seductive Pink* This is my go to blush at the moment; it's such a lovely colour, the tones in it enhance and compliment the skin. For a more brighter blush the H&M Blusher in Spring Flower is perfect and the combination of colours in the pan create such a beautiful corally, peach and pink tone - i think i might possibly take this on holiday with me in July because against a tan i think this will be so nice. For a more natural blush that will go with pretty much anything the Bourjois Cream Blush in Nude Velvet is the one, it's a subtle peach shade that blends in flawlessly with a cream to powder finish.

During Spring the products i use for my eyes don't alter all that much from Winter - i still go for a heavy winged liner and long lashes. The main difference is probably the eyeshadows shades as I'll be more likely to opt for lighter shades like the OPRA Eyeshadow in Bliss which is peachy toned champagne pink. I'll also be getting a lot of use out of my Mac Eyeshadow Quad too as the four shades are really versatile so it'll be easy to experiment with to create lighter eye looks.

I've had the Essence Big Bright Eyes* for ages but never get round to using it so I'm hoping to get a lot of use out of it for Spring as i really like to highlight the inner corner of my eye as I've noticed it really does make a difference on me and opens up my eye so i think this will be perfect for that.

There are so many lip products that are perfect for Spring that it's quite hard to narrow it down but i prefer to wear light, tinted lip products or lip butters that gives a nice wash of colour to the lips, as they are much easier to maintain. The Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in Orange Punch was one of my staple lip products to wear last Spring and Summer and it'll definitely be making an appearance again this year. Orange is not a colour i can usually get away with but this makes it so easy to wear.

The Collection Lip Butter in Vintage Rose is a gorgeous rosy pink, it's quite an easy shade to wear and I'm a big wearer of pink shades anyway so i know I'll get a lot of wear out of this. Lip butter are my favourite formula because they're so creamy and moisturising. I've also picked out the Sonia Kashuk Tinted Lip Balm in Hint of Red; if I'm being honest this is a lip product i use throughout the entire year anyway as it's a really easy way to get a subtle red lip without having to commit to a bold lip.

Since taking these photos I've picked up the Maybelline Colour Sensation Elixirs in Blush Essence which is the perfect colour for Spring and will definitely be a staple for me this season as Ive worn it so much already.

I'm quite boring when it comes to my nails; i really like pastel shades and i literally stick to the same three nail products every Spring and Summer. My all time favourite is the Barry M Nail Paint in Mint Green, it's such a beautiful shade and the polish i tend to wear the most. If i do fancy a change then I'll opt for Topshop Nails in Flamingo Coral or Essie Nail Polish in Bikini So Teeny.

As time goes on more and more products will be adding into the mix as i do try to rotate my everyday make up once a month as i find that's a good way to make sure I'm using a lot of my collection. I really hope this post wasn't too long and I'd love to know what products you love using throughout spring time?
