I'm really excited to write this post because as you reading this i will be sunning myself in Spain! I fly out at 6:45am in the morning, early flights are my favourite because there's something quite magical about getting up in the middle of the night to go to their airport whilst everyone is sleeping. It's only a short flight but i thought I'd share with you my hand luggage essentials.
Firstly, the bag I'm using for my hand luggage is this pink polka dot backpack - the photo on Ebay actually showed it as more of a burgundy colour but i ordered it from Ebay for about £8 so i can't really complain because I'll only really be using it for travelling.
Papertowns by John Green
I always take a book with me in my hand luggage just in case i get bored waiting in the airport or whilst on the flight itself. The book I'm taking is Papertowns by John Green; this has been on my to read list for ages and i really want to get it read before the movie comes out. I've heard a lot of good things about it so I'm excited to sink my teeth into it.
Dr Paw Paw Original Multi Purpose Balm*
I put the make up I'm taking with me into my main luggage because it's such a short flight i don't feel like i need to wipe it all or to top it up - i do however, get quite dry lips when I'm up in the air so i like to take a lip balm with me. I love the Dr Paw Paw Multi Purpose Balm* as it's so moisturising and because it's multi purpose i can use it for other things too.
This may seem really random but i always like to carry a pen on me as you never know when you may need one. Also, I'm a big lover of puzzles so if i get a puzzle book or a magazine with puzzle i won't have to worry about not having a pen.
I don't know how I'll be wearing my hair for travelling but i always keep this in my bag in case i want to put my hair up out of the way so I'm bringing it in my hand luggage for that reason. Also, if it's really warm when i first get there and i wanted get my hair out of the way then i can.
Obviously, being the blogger i am i need my camera to capture everything and take lots of pictures from my holiday but i prefer to keep it in my hand luggage so i know it's safe. At the moment, i haven't quite decided whether to take my new Canon EOS M or my old Fujifilm bridge camera - I'm paranoid about losing my new camera or something happening to it but i know it'll take better quality photos so im not sure which to take!
This time round i don't have an ipod to listen to music but my sister does so we've made a play list and we've bought some of those splitters that allows two sets of headphones so we can both listen to it. They're also just really handy to have.
I can't cope with how funny my ears go up in the air especially during take off and landing and last time. Last time i went on holiday i found earplugs really helped, my ears didn't pop and they were sore after either. They're also useful if you're sat next to anyone noisy or small crying children.
Polka Roller Ball Perfume
This is generally a handbag essential for me anyways because it's always handy to have should you ever forget to apply perfume - having this means i can top up my scent without lugging around an actual perfume bottle. It's small, compact and smells lovely!
At the airport, i always buy a magazine and some sweets or mints of some kind to take on the flight with me and then of course, there is the obvious essentials like my passport and tickets. I don't like to take too much in my bag because I'm going to be carrying it around so i try to keep it to a minimum.
