I almost didn't buy this product; i got the Estee Lauder Deluxe All Over Face Compact from the car boot sale (see here) a few weeks ago for £4 and at first i walked away, the woman selling it was a bit rude and i didn't want to give her the satisfaction of buying something. However, i just couldn't stop thinking about it so i caved and picked it up - and I'm so glad i did.
The packaging for this is gorgeous and it looks so luxurious; it is quite bulky so it's not the ideal compact for taking with you on the go but it looks lovely on my dressing table and it has a lovely round mirror inside. I'd never heard of this product before so i don't know if it's been discontinued or if it's still sold, i did have a browse online but i can't find it so I'm assuming it's been discontinued which is such a shame as I'm really loving using this compact.
It's comes with 3 matte blushes and 1 translucent face powder; the range of blush shades in this palette are each suited to a season so this compact could probably get you through every season. Each powder is really soft and finely milled, they apply really smoothly and last really well on the face.
|Petal, Nectar, Transparent, Pink Kiss|
I've probably been using the shade Petal the most; it's a gorgeous soft almost baby pink shade and i love how it looks, it's a perfect spring/summer shade. It just gives a soft pop of colour to the cheeks, it's nothing too overwhelming but it really ties a make up look together.
Nectar is probably my least favourite; I've not really tried it out as much as the others because it's orange toned and whilst it's a lovely shade, I'm not sure how well it suits me. It's definitely something i need to play around with more but i think with the right skin tone this would look incredible.
I really like this Transparent powder in this palette; I've been using this daily along with the Petal blush as my last face powder smashed (this seems to happen far too much) and it's applies lovely. I like to use it to remove any shine from my T-zone and to set my foundation and concealer as it helps them stay in place, it's such a lovely powder and it gives a really lovely finish to the skin.
The shade Pink Kiss is a lovely autumnal shade; I'd describe it as a mauve-y pink and this is one of my favourite shades for a blush because it gives a gorgeous flush of colour to the cheeks and in the colder months i love that 'just been out in the cold' flush you get. The shade of this blush actually reminds me a lot of Benefit's Bella Bamba but without the shimmer.
I've been reaching for this palette everyday since i picked it up; it's just beautiful. I love the range of shades, the packaging is really lovely and the powders are such good quality.
