This review is definitely a big difference to my usual type of posts so i know it may not be to everyones taste, but thanks to my awesome geeky friends I've grown to quite like things like this - so when i was offered the chance to try October's My Geek Box*, i was very intrigued and having seen some of the post boxes on the website i was quite excited too.
The theme for this months box was 'Afterlife' which is quite fitting for Halloween this month - keep reading, if you'd like to see what is inside...
I rather like puzzles especially ones that i can physically do so i know that I'm gonna enjoy playing around with the Dracula: A Petrifying Puzzle - i can already tell this is going to be one of those things that I'm going to get addicted to doing or attempting to do.
The Metal Wall Sign and the Zombie Out Break Sticker are pretty cool but they aren't really things I'll probably use personally. Saying that though, i can imagine a lot of people putting these up in there rooms especially the metal wall sign and for me, they'll come in handy for any Halloween parties.
I'm not exactly sure what this is - i this it's a Tea Towel with Blood Stains, I'm going to assume that's what it is anyways. It's a pretty random thing to be in a subscription box and I'm not sure how it falls under 'geek' but either way it's pretty cool and again this will be a pretty cool prop for a Halloween party.
I was really impressed when i saw the comic book Twisted Dark by Neil Gibson in the box, it's a proper thick and full sized comic. I've never read a comic book before but I'm actually looking forward to giving this a go. I've already had a quick flip through and it tells you a little bit about the creator and he completely funded this comic himself, which i think is amazing - i really admire people that really go all in for things their passion and that's exactly what he's done.
My absolutely favourite thing in this box is the Limited Edition Boo T-shirt, it's so cute and simple and perfect for Halloween. I honestly had every intention of making the t-shirt i got my new pyjama top but i absolutely love this one that I'm definitely going to wear it with my skinny jeans. I love it.
Overall, i actually really like this box and i know for a fact this is something that my friends would love to. It's such a clever concept because with all the many subscription box that are out there this appeals to a whole other audience. It's £17.99 a month which is that bit more pricey than others but you can really good quality stuff in the box and everything is full size. You do also have the option to pay for 3 months, 6 months or 12 months in advance too.
Have you tried My Geek Box?
