Make Up | Initial Impressions #1

The other day i was feeling a little down in the dumps so to cheer myself up i went for a wonder round Superdrug and Boots and the next thing i knew, some products had jumped into my hand, my card fell into the machine and i had a bag of new products. I decided that rather than do loads of individual reviews on them right away, I'd throw them all into one post and share my initial impressions of them.

Make Up Revolution Focus & Fix Concealer
So far I'm not too sure about this - i had a bit of a bad skin moment for a few days and this clung to all the dry patches really badly so I've not really found myself reaching for it since. My skin has cleared up a lot now so I'll have to give it another try but so far I'm not loving it.

Seventeen Stay Time Concealer
First time i tried it, i wasn't sure but I've persisted with this one because it's a full coverage concealer and I've had a few blemishes and darker under eyes and so far I'm enjoying this. It is very light but i purposely chose that so that it would brighten up my under eyes and so far I'm really liking the results it gives.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
I can't decide what i think of this; i really like the shape of the brush and the length it gives my lashes but i can't help but feel like something is missing. I think i might have just had high expectations due to the amount of hype around this mascara recently but i do like it.

Freedom Pro Contour Stick
I've only use this once and i already love it. Ive not used it that much as I've been using my Clinique Chubby Stick but i tried it for the first time the other day and it's so good. It's a lot lighter than the Clinique one but i think this will be perfect for day to day wear and i love that this has a highlighter with it too.

Freedom Eyebrow Pomade
I'm really enjoying this so far - it's definitely the most pigmented brow product I've ever used and I've never used a pomade style product before either but i really like it. I was worried that it was going to be too much but i use quite a light hand and build it up and i love how full it makes my brows look but its still so natural looking. Very impressed with this so far.

Essence Sheer Shine Lipsticks in Cute Nude & Candy Love
I really like the formula of these as they're really creamy and moisturising. The pigmentation is a little bit pointless as they only give a light hint of colour but they were only £1.99 and they'll be okay for just general day to day wear when i want a natural lip.

Bourjois Velvet Rouge in Nude-ist
I really like the Velvet Rouge lip products as it they are a lovely creamy yet matte formula, they're really pleasant to wear on the lips and they have excellent pigmentation and this is no different. I really like this lip product the only issue i have with it is that it's definitely more of a pink shade than a nude as the name would suggest but i still like it all the same!

Have picked up any new products recently?

  1. So many great products! I can't wait to try the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara - it seems like just what I like from a mascara from the reviews I've read so far, so I'll be interested to read how you've found it once you've had a bit more time to play with it! I really want to try the Freedom Contour Stick & the Brow Pomade, I've not tried any products like these before & love that I'll be able to start with an inexpensive option incase I don't get on with them. Xx
