If you follow me on twitter (here) you will know that I've been doing a lot of extra hours in work resulting in me losing the days off that i had planned to get a lot of blog photos done, and the only day i can do them means i would've have to miss most of the posts this week so I've had to rearrange the posts i did have planned which has resulted in this slightly last minute addition of my must watch Christmas movies. (Inspired by Callie Rose's post here)

One of the things i do really like about Christmas is all the movies, so i thought I'd share with some of the ones i love to watch around Christmas time.

Love Actually | The Holiday | Home Alone
Love ActuallyI'm pretty sure this is on everyone's movie recommendation list, but it is just the ultimate feel good Christmas movie. I love that it follows a variety of different people all trying to deal with their love lives over Christmas.

The Holiday
I adore this film. I don't know what it is about it that i like to much but it just always leaves me with such a smile on my face. It's a rom-com about two women with guy troubles who swap homes to get over their heartache. It's such a lovely film; it's not really about Christmas, it's just set around that time but it still has a lovely festive feel not to mention, Jude Law is pretty hot in this film.

Home Alone
This is such a classic Christmas movie and I'd be pretty shocked if you hadn't seen it but the night before a big family holiday, Kevin acts up and is sent to sleep in the attic and makes a wish that is family would disappear. After missing the alarm and a mad dash to their airport, Kevin is accidentally left behind and wakes up to the assumption that his wish has come true. I feel like I've not seen this in a while and it's making me really want to watch it.

Jingle All The Way | A Christmas Kiss | A Very Merry Mix-Up
Jingle All The Way
I've watched this every Christmas for as long as i can remember so it doesn't feel like Christmas without it. I'm assuming this is one most people will have watched because it's been out for years and is always on the TV but if not, it's about a workaholic who promises to get his son a Turbo Man - the hottest toy of the season, even though Christmas Eve and sold out everywhere.

These next few movies are what I've watched on the Christmas 24 channel, i don't know if they're on anything else but these are the ones I'd recommend if you get the chance to see.

A Christmas Kiss
I really enjoy this movie and normally it's always really over played on Christmas 24 but it's not been on so far this year which is so disappointing as i really enjoy it, it's such a lovely film. After a spontaneous kiss, a struggling designer ends up falling in love with her demanding boss's boyfriend as she decorates his home for a Christmas party.

A Very Merry Mix Up
I randomly watched this for the first time last year and i really enjoyed it, it has a very cheesy kind of romance to it but that is pretty much what every film on Christmas 24 is like but i thought it was a lovely film. It's about Alice, who is really nervous about to meeting her future in-laws for the first time, especially because she's getting their ahead of her fiance. After losing her luggage and her phone getting damaged and is unable to contact her fiance, she runs into who she believes to be her fiance's brother and starts the holiday celebrations with the wrong family.

Snow Bride | Naughty & Nice
Snow Bride
I've actually only seen this once but i really enjoyed it. It's about a tabloid reporter who races to find juicy gossip on a prominent political family but she ends up spending the week before Christmas with them and falls for one of their sons. Again, it's a bit cheesy but it's just really heartwarming and such a feel good film.

Naughty & Nice
This is another one I've only watched quite recently, a radio host is banished to a sister station in Colorado to allow the dust to settle on his latest antics - where he meets Sandy; a hopeless romantic. Thrown together as co-hosts, they are soon at odds with each and their “war of words” catches the attention of the small town where their joint show becomes a hit. Again, it's a very cheesy, feel good film. I personally love films like this because they're so easy to watch and i love romance films.

Those are my current must watch Christmas Movies, what are yours?
Any recommendations?

  1. I love that there's some films in here that I've not actually seen! I love love actually and the holiday, but the 3 last films I've never seen. I'll have to have a watch!
