Brand Focus | MUA

MUA is a brand that seems to have gone under the radar of late - as it's marketed as a 'cheaper' brand their products can often be quite hit and miss however, i thought I'd share a few of my favourite products from them.

Review | Essence Multi Action Mascara

Review | Essence Multi Action Mascara

I seem to have developed quite a collection of mascaras over the past few months, i try not to open too many at once so i can use them properly and avoid them drying out. I've had the Essence Multi-Action Mascara* lying in my 'to-review/to-try' drawer for a good while so i decided to get it out and put it to the test.

Car Boot Sale Haul #9

Car Boot Sale Haul #9

I'm really sorry about the lack of posts on my blog this past month, I've been going through a rather difficult time and i will explain it in a post sometime soon but right now I'm just not ready to write that particular post. I went to the car boot sale this morning and picked up a few items.

I've not been reading half as much as I'd have like to these past few months as I've had a lot going on my personal life and I've just not really made time for it. Like most, i have a ever growing to-read pile that i seem to be unable to make a dent into - probably doesn't help that i keep adding more to it. I did however, get through these few books.

My weekly visits to the Car Boot Sale are something that i really look forward too. I love not knowing what i may find and getting them for a really cheap price makes it even better.

Liverpool Empire | Calamity Jane

Liverpool Empire | Calamity Jane

So last Wednesday (6th May) i went to go see Calamity Jane at the Liverpool Empire Theatre, it may seem like an unusual choice for someone my age to want to go and see - it's a film i grew up loving and i really wanted to see how it translated on stage.

Review | Maybelline The Eraser Eye Perfect and Cover Concealer

Maybelline The Eraser Eye Perfect and Cover Concealer

I'm not sure how constant my posts are going to be over the next few weeks as my laptop decided to stop charging, I have ordered a brand new battery and charger that should hopefully be here within the next week of so I'm hoping that will fix it and things will resume as normal - so fingers crossed. In the meantime should hopefully be able to get a few posts up here and there depending on if I can get access to the computer as my mum uses it a lot.

However, onto today's post I feel like I've been trying the Maybelline The Eraser Eye Perfect and Cover Concealer (£7.99 available here) long enough to share my thoughts on it. So if you'd like to know what I think, keep reading.

I was most intrigued by the Essence The Lash Curler Volume and Curl Mascara* because it claims to curl your lashes without needing any help from an eyelash curler! The idea behind it is that as you apply the mascara you twist the lid (it rotates) and that curls the lashes as you apply it - too good to be true, right?

I'm rather disappointed in this mascara - i don't know if I'm using it wrong but definitely does not curl the lashes enough to completely abandon the eyelash curler. For me when i apply it, it doesn't twist the way it's supposed to so it's just like using any other mascara. In terms of what it's like as a mascara - I'm not that crazy about it, the brush has a slight squared edge to it which to me its rather strange, it also adds very little length to the lashes. I'll give it credit where it's due it does add volume to the lashes and separates them quite well too - i did half expect it to be clumpy and give me spidery lashes.

I really would like to know if I'm using it wrong and what other people think of this mascara because I'm convinced i must be using it wrong. At least i hope i am because i had rather high hopes for this mascara and well, it's left me feeling disappointed.

Have you tried it?
