Happy New Year. It's officially 2016 and that is insane. Like most people i drunkenly welcomed in the New Year with my amazing friends and I'm definitely not feeling so fresh today. However, at the start of each of year i do to try and be productive and i like to set myself some goals.
New Year Goals:
1. Try More Food
Every year i always say i want to eat more healthy and it never happens, every year i fall back into the same old eating habits so instead, i want to try more foods. I'm a bit of an awkward eater and rely on the same kind of foods all the time so this year I'd like to branch out of my comfort zone and try more and who knows maybe I'll introduce healthier options that way.
2. Be More Creative
I've always been quite a creative person but the past few years I've just not made any time for it and it really annoys me, so this year i want to change that. I am obsessed with Pinterest and have come across so many amazing different DIY Projects, Sewing Projects and loads of amazing recipes that i really want to try out so I'm aiming to try at least one a month - all of which I'll hopefully blog about too.
3. Thrift More
I did a lot of thrifting last year and i loved it especially going to the car boot sale and you guys seemed to really enjoy my hauls too. So i want to continue thrifting, going to the car boot sale and other charity shops too. It's pretty thrilling not knowing what you might find.
4. Reading Challenge
I'm setting myself the Goodreads challenge of reading 26 books (hopefully a book per fortnight). Originally, I was going to try and read 1 book a week but realistically, that's not going to happen so I'm going to aim for 26 books and any more that i read is a bonus, I'm also hoping to finally make a dint in my TBR pile because it keeps growing.
5. Take more Photos
I want to take more photos in 2016, there's been so many times this year when I've really kicked myself for not having taken photos especially of some really amazing things/nights out that have happened - i love photos and want to take more so that i can look back on all the things i get up to.
6. Keep Scrapbooking
In keeping with the last goal - now that I'm all up to date with my scrapbook (see here) i want to continue scrap booking and keep it up to date so i have something to look back on later on in life.
7. Make More Time to Relax
I spend a lot of time on my phone and on my laptop and since I've started blogging, the amount of time has increased so i want to try and take some time out to relax. Whether it be one evening a week or even a month where i just switch off my phone and close my laptop, just to take a few hours to myself to relax and recharge.
8. Go Back to College
I somehow managed to miss this off and i'm now having to edit this post to include it (4 days later) but i'm really hoping to go back to college this year. Im not entirely sure what i plan to do but i know i want to go back and eventually get myself a better job. I like my job that i have now but it's not something i want to do forever.
1. Hit 1000 Blog Lovin' Followers
It's a small milestone for some but it's a big one for me and I'm so close to it. I'd love to hit 1000 followers on my Blog Lovin' at some point during 2016.
2. Change Layout
I set this goal every year because i think it's important to shake things up every so often and as much as i love my current layout, it definitely needs updating and i just feel like it's missing something, so I'm on the hunt for a lovely new layout for 2016.
3. Create a Blogging Schedule that Works for Me
Last year my blog posts were all over the place so i want to create some sort of schedule that will be consistent and keep me on track. I've already created a schedule that I'm hoping to keep too but only time will tell if it's the right one for me so it may be tweaked along the way. Along with the schedule i want to work on the type of posts I'm doing, i want to keep the mix and balance right so I'm trying to spread them out so each week has a good mix of topics and not all the same things at the same time.
What are your goals for 2016?
