The 'Best of...' post and videos are my absolute favourites, i enjoy both writing them and reading/watching them. I find it's a real testament to the product to make it into your yearly favourites. Normally, i just include beauty products but this time around I've decided to include some other categories as well.
Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation | My Review
I featured this in my favourites last year too. I adore this foundation, it's easily one of the best ones I've ever tried. It's a water based foundation so it's very light but you can layer it up and build it up to the coverage you want and it leaves you with the most flawless finish on the skin.
YSL Youth Liberator Serum Foundation | My Review
This is another foundation that i featured in last years favourites. It's a much heavier coverage but it blends out beautifully and gives a lovely smooth and flawless finish. The packaging is also gorgeous.
Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer | My Review
I don't love the packaging of this because i find the sponge part a little gross as it's not something that could be cleaned easily however, the concealer itself is pretty good. It has a medium coverage and blends out nice and evenly to cover under the eyes and blemishes.
Seventeen Miracle Matte Powder* | My Review
I'm really loving using this powder; it works really well at setting your foundation and concealer in place and helping to prolong it's wear. I'm not normally a big fan of matte powders as i feel like i don't suit a completely matte finish but i feel like this isn't too matte - if that makes sense? It takes away the shine from the face but not completely. I'm really close to hitting pan on it too.
Collection Eyebrow Kit | My Review
This is such a handy compact and i love that it comes with a clear mascara to set the brows in places. The powders have a really smooth texture and they're apply so easily. The powders are quite pigmented but you can build them up to the intensity you prefer, i personally just like to lightly fill them in and its perfect for that.
Catrice Fixing Brow Wax | My Review
This is the perfect alternate to a brow gel. I don't really like brow waxes at least any that i previously tried in pan form but i really like this product because the wax is in a pen form its so much easier to apply. It works really well at setting the brows in place - i use this both alone to tidy up the brows or to just set my brows in place after I've filled them in and they literally don't budge. Catrice isn't easily available, at least not to me so I'm dreading the day i run out of this.
MeMeMe Eye Sweep Liner* | My Review
Eyeliner is one of those products that i rarely go without, i just adore that classic winged out liner look so i go through a lot of eyeliners. I've been using this for a few months now and it's still going strong. It's a liner pen and as the nib is nice and thin it easy to get a thin and precise application. It lasts ages, it doesn't smudge and i absolutely love it.
Mac Paint Pot In Painterly | My Review
I've been using this pretty much everyday since i got it and i still love it. It's the perfect eyeshadow base, as it's a nude colour it evens out the skintone on the eyelid too. I like to wear this both on it's own and also as a base for eyeshadows are it gives the lid a great blank canvas and really helps prolong the wear of the eyeshadow and really make it pop.
Mac Eyeshadow Quad | My Review
My eyeshadow quad consists of Naked Lunch, Patina, Satin Taupe and Mystery. I come back to this quad time and time again because it's so versatile. it's a really handy size and the perfect range of colours to take with you on the go, this has come on both holidays this year. I love that you can easily create both daytime and more bolder intense looks to. I'm so glad i finally finished this quad as i absolutely love it.
Bourjoir Smokey Story Eyeshadow Quad in Over Rose
I randomly picked this out of my collection whilst i was rotating the products and because it has a rose/mauve tones to it, i felt it would be quite fitting for the autumn time and I'm so glad i did. It's such a gorgeous eyeshadow quad and the range of colours in it are just stunning, they compliment each other so well and you can create some really gorgeous eye looks. The eyeshadows themselves are really great quality, they are so easy to blend, don't crease and are really pigmented.
Max-Factor False Lash Effect Mascara* | My Review
I randomly got sent this for free, thanks to some giveaway Tesco was doing on twitter. You could nominate someone to receive a free gift and Vicky from Let's Talk Beauty very kindly nominated me. I have tried a lot of mascaras this year but this one was by far the best - it just made my lashes look incredible and really did give them that false lash effect. It coats all the lashes evenly and really separates them to make them look really full and voluminous.
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara | My Review
This is one of those products you don't need but can't live without it once you've tried it. I absolutely love mine, it's only been in my collection for a month or two now and i just love it. It has such a tiny brush but its the perfect size to coat the bottom lashes and the inner corner without smudging everywhere or poking yourself in the eye. The length it adds to the bottom lashes is insane and i love how much it opens my eyes up.
Max-Factor Creme Puff Blush in Seductive Pink* | My Review
I absolutely adore this blush and it might be the biggest stand out product of the year for me. I'm very fickle with blush and i change it up constantly but i wore this every single day for about 4/5 months straight and i still reach for it often now. It's a baked formula that's designed to give you a very lightweight finish, it's very subtle but it gives the most beautiful hint of colour and radiance to the skin and you can easily build them up for a more intense colour.
Studio 10 Face Defining Kit* | My Review
This was also featured in my last years beauty favourites and i used it everyday up until about August when i ventured into trying some other contour alternatives but i still love this palette a lot. It just has the most perfect contour shade - it's a grey toned brown so it gives the appearance of a more natural shadow and definition. I've used this so much and it is still hands down one of the favourite contour products.
Smashbox Step by Step Contour Kit | My Review
This was another contour kit that i discovered in the second half of the year - it comes with a contour, a bronzer and a highlight. It comes with loads of instructions and a step by step guide for any contouring newbies and i really like that. I like all the products that come with the kit and together they give the complexion a lovely natural contour whilst also warming up the face.
The Balm Mary Lou Manizer AKA The Luminizer | My Review
I had a tricky start with this product but the more and more i use it, the more and more i love. It's such a gorgeous highlighter; it's amazing quality and the powder is very fine and buttery and applies to the skin so easily - it gives the most beautiful and subtle glow to the complexion and i love it.
Mac Lipstick in Plumful | My Review
This is another product i featured in last years favourite and i still love it. I've mentioned this so many times on this blog that I'm sure you already know how much i love it. It's really moisturising on the lips and it has a really lovely sheen to it. It's such a gorgeous colour but it's really low maintenance and so easy to wear. This lipstick has remained on the go in my handbag with since i got because it's such an easy way to dress up a make up look if needed.
Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoother in Coffee To Go | My Review
This has been my go to daily lip colour since i got it, it's the perfect pink nude and it's so easy to wear. I also really like the packaging of this, it reminds me a lot of the Clarins Lip Perfectors (i can't actually compare this though) it's so moisturising on the lips and it's easy to apply on the go too.
Maybelline Colour Elixir in Mandarine Rupture | My Review
Orange is a colour i would never have dreamed of wearing but this is such a wearable colour. I wore this so much over Spring/Summer and i took it on both my holidays and it was one of those lip products i constantly reached for, it's the perfect summery shade and because it applies sheer it's much more easy to wear.
Lip Hop Perfection Lipstick in Shade 15* | My Review
This is another shade that once upon a time i would never have worn but i actually love this. It's a really bold and dark wine berry shade, it's one of those colours that instantly makes you feel really empowered and confident when you wear it. It's definitely much more high maintenance than the other two I've featured but i really enjoy wearing this lipstick especially because it's something that pushes me out of my comfort zone. It's not the greatest in term of reapplying, it does start to get a bit dry but this is so bold and stays in place quite well that you don't really need to reapply it.
Origins Out Of Trouble 10 Minute Mask | My Review
I used this every time i feel like my skin needs a quick pick me up because it gives instant results. It's quite a thick mask but it leaves the skin feel incredible soft, it looks much hydrated, revitalised and just much healthier in general. I adore this mask.
Merumeya Mud Marvels Mask* | My Review
This is another mask that i noticed instant results with, it's powered by charcoal and volcanic ash to help detoxify the skin and draw out impurities. My favourite thing about this is that you can barely feel it on the skin, some masks go really tight but this doesn't. My skin feels instantly brighter and softer after using this, it feels so smooth its incredible. Even my sister noticed a difference after using this.
BRYT Calm Serum* | My Review
I've never been a big fan of serums, I've never really understood their purpose but this product instantly changed my mind. It's more of a creamy formula than usual oil serums which i think is why i like it more but i love how this feels on my skin - it's so absorbent, you can literally feel it soaking into the skin and it feels incredible. I love the scent of this too, it's so soothing and relaxing.
This Works Light Time Cleanse & Go* | My Review
I use this every single day and i love it. It's been designed with the intention of waking up the skin and washing away and removing any signs of sleep. I am not a morning person what so ever but i love using this because it brightens up my skin and it makes me look far more awake then i feeling. It really cleanses the skin and leaves it feel so soft too.
L'Oreal Facial Cleansing Oil | My Review
I've used this for ages now and I've gone through quite a few bottles of it. It's just the most easiest way to remove make up, massage it into your face for about 30 seconds and it removes all your make up even really stubborn products like eyeliner. I love this because i hate taking my make up off but with this it requires so little effort and it's really gentle on your eyes and skin too.
|The Big Bang Theory | Rookie Blue|
The Big Bang Theory
I've mentioned this show a heck of a lot on my blog and i just adore it. I think it's hilarious and i absolutely love Sheldon Cooper and his bluntness. I could easily watch it all day long without getting bored, my mum very kindly got my the first six seasons on DVD for Christmas so i can watch it as and when i please.
This show is incredible. I wasn't too keen at first but it didn't take long before i was addicted and just couldn't get enough of it. There's only six seasons and I'm was gutted to discover it had been cancelled because it's one of the only TV shows I've watched that actually stays consistently good throughout all the season. It's so good and I'd highly recommend it.
|Big Hero Six | The Theory of Everything | Magic Mike XXL|
Big Hero Six
I was really looking forward to watching this when it came out even though i had no idea what it was about and it did not disappoint. It's such a good film not to mention hilarious. It might be a Disney film but i think this is one that everyone can enjoy. It's about Hiro who is a robotics prodigy and his closest companion Baymax who was designed with the sole purpose of taking care of people, after a devastating turn of events, they are caught up in a dangerous plot and Hiro transforms himself, Baymax and his friends. It doesn't sound like much but trust me.
The Theory of Everything
I didn't know if I'd like this film or not, because truth be told i don't have massive interest in Stephen Hawking and i only watching it because of Eddie Redmayne being in it but i thought it was such a brilliant film. The way Eddie Redmayne portrayed Stephen Hawking was incredible, it's not a light hearted film but it really does draw you in and captures your attention - it's such a beautiful film and it made me cry too. I'd definitely recommend watching this if you haven't already.
Magic Mike XXL
I feel like some people would probably consider this film to be quite trashy but i don't care. I think it's brilliant, its so much better than the first one and i don't really understand how anyone could not enjoy a film with a half naked Channing Tatum dancing. I went to watch this at the cinemas and it was just such a good atmosphere in the cinema screen, everyone was laughing and squealing and it's just one of those films that you can't not enjoy.
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
I read quite a few books during 2015 but this is the only book that really blew me away. It's hands down one of the best books i read last year and I'm so excited for the film version to come out this year. It's about Louisa Clarke who loses her job and ends up taking a 6 month temporary position as a carer to Will Traynor, who after a major motorbike accident has lost his will to live. I can't even explain just how much i enjoyed this book, it's quite thought provoking and it made me cry a lot - i can not recommend this book enough!
There's three songs that I've really loved this year and still enjoy listening to now and they are Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran, Walk Like A Man by Four Seasons and Ugly Heart by G.R.L - I actually don't think any of these even came out this year but they're the songs I've found myself listening to the most, I've also really enjoyed Take Me Home by Jesse Glynne.
So those are my favourites of 2015 and no doubt, I'll have forgotten some that i wanted to include but these are the products and things that have stood out and that I've enjoyed the most. It's quite a long list but i do hope you've enjoyed reading through them, please leave me the link to your post or video if you've done a 2015 favourites too.
