If you've been following my blog for a while, you'll know that I'm in the process of learning how to sew. I say learning but it's pretty much trial and error and hoping it turns out good enough. There was a lot of things i wanted to try and make last year but thanks to life, it didn't end up a productive as I'd have liked. This year however, i hope to change that and there is many sewing projects I'm hoping to try and make.
I'm not say I'm definitely going to do all of these or that they are going too work, but I'm definitely going to try. Also, the things i make won't be replicas of these things, these are just the inspiration or patterns that ill be using.
|Baby Blanket | Summer Dress|
I've wanted to make a patchwork blanket for ages anyways but i now have the reason to actually give myself a kick up the bum. One of my best friends is expecting a beautiful bundle of joy and i really want to make a blanker for him, I've already starting gathering material - it has a similar colour scheme to the one in the photos but they're different. I don't know how this is going to turn out or whether it'll even be good enough to give as a present but I'm definitely going to try my best.
2. Summer Dress
I don't know if this is the exact style I'm going to go for but i really want to try and make myself a dress - either like the one picture or maybe a maxi dress, just something for the summertime. This is definitely going to be a challenge and i have no doubt that it's going to take me a good few attempts but i feel like if i can make the dress then maybe I'll be okay at other things
|Tap Pants | Bralet|
I know this may seem really random but i always wear shorts under dresses anyways and these are much prettier and whilst they're not designed to be seen, at least they're pretty to look at should i fall and my booty be on show. I also love the lace at the bottom and i think they'll look cute under dresses. It'll also be interesting to learn how to make bottoms.
I love bralets and I've always wanted one but most shops never cater them for my bra size. I probably won't be wearing these on show for people to see but they're cute to go under strappy tank tops and that kinda thing -- and also they're pretty.
|Harry Potter Robe | Tulle Skirt|
Right, i can explain this one. When i went to the studios back in December my friend really wanted to buy the robes but they were like £70+ so i said that if i can find a good pattern and i get better at sewing that i would make us some. So that is why this is on my project list.
6. Tulle Skirt
This is one of the items i really wanted to make myself last year, i love tulle skirts i think they're gorgeous and the grown up way to wear a tutu. I don't know what it is about these skirts that i love so much but nowhere near me sells anything like this so i really want to make my own.
7. Halloween Costume
I don't have a picture for this yet as i don't know what my Halloween costume is going to be. I love Halloween and i love dressing up but the generic costumes that you buy are always unflattering and cheaply made but cost a fortune so depending on what I'm going to be, I'd like to make it myself.
Whether these actually happen or work out is another story but these are the projects i hope to try and do throughout 2016.
