Max Factor Marilyn Monroe Lipstick Collection

Max Factor Marilyn Monroe Lipstick Collection

I've always been quite partial to a red lip, its the shade of lip products I'm always drawn to the post and the one that i own a million and one varieties of. However, one thing that i and I'm sure a lot of other people struggle with is finding the perfect red shade that suit's them the best. Now, let me introduce you to Max Factor's Marilyn Monroe Lipstick Collection* - this collection features a red lip that will suit everyone. Allowing each and woman to find their own Marilyn Red Lip.

Ruby Red, Sunset Red, Berry and Cabernet

Basically, each of the red lipsticks within this collection is suited to a specific skin tone meaning that one of these four will suit you. Ruby Red*; The classic, iconic red - Described as the Marilyn original. Sunset Red*; a orange toned red that is more suited to warm, olive skin tones. Berry*; a blue toned red, suited more paler and cooler skin tones and finally, Cabernet*; a rich, deep red with purple undertones suited more at darker skin tones.

All these red shades are so beautiful and i really like that they've informed you of which is the one you'd be suited too. Personally, I'd happily wear Ruby Red, Berry and Cabernet. Sunset Red does not suit me at all, the orange undertone is quite rich and it doesn't suit my complexion at all. Following Max Factor's instructions - my perfect red is Berry.

I do feel i suit Berry really well but i also feel like i suit Cabernet, i don't know if this is just because i personally really like to wear deep, rich red shades but according to Max Factor's guideline that's for darker skin tones so it's not my perfect red. However, saying that it is just a guideline to the red that will suit you the most, it doesn't mean you can't wear the others.

Onto the formula of these lipsticks, oh my they are perfect - they are so creamy and moisturising, they've been created with avocado butter and grapeseed oil which also helps to prevent them from drying out the lips. It feels amazing on the lips, it's so soft and they smells incredible - they have been enhanced with fresh citrus notes and vanilla undertones, in an effort to capture Marilyn sweet and alluring persona.

Regardless of finding the perfect red or not, I'd recommend these lipsticks entirely due to their amazing formula - they retail for £7.99 but I'd quite happily pay more for the quality, they're pigmented, they stay in place and despite their glossy finish the don't smudge.

I love the idea behind this collection because it's surprising how something as simple as tweaking the shade of red you wearing can change your entire appearance and as I've already mentioned i absolutely love a red lip.  I also adore Marilyn Monroe so it's even better that this collection is hers.
