I think i squealed a little when i opened this present on Christmas Day, i had eyed the Real Techniques Deluxe Gift Set up quite a few times in store but never expected to find it under the tree on Christmas morning.
It comes with five Real Techniques brushes, two of which are exclusive to the set. I actually don't own any of the ones in the set so I'm really excited to be getting five new make up brushes.
I adore Real Techniques brushes and would eventually like to own them all, considering their affordable price, they are such great quality and really help to give great that professional finish to make up. They're made with synthetic hair so they are animal-cruelty free and i just think they're a brand you can't really fault.
I love that the Multi Task Brush doesn't have a specific purpose and that you can essentially use it for anything. So far I've only used mine for bronzer but i think this will be lovely to use for both powder and blush, it's so soft and i love that it only picks up a light dusting so you can build it up.
I've never really been a bit fan of the flat foundation style brushes as i find it applies the product too thickly and it just doesn't look very nice, however i actually really liked using the Tapered Foundation Brush (Exclusive to this set) i used it with my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation and it gave me the most flawless finish to the skin. It's possibly my favourite brush out of the set.
Most brushes that I've used for highlighter are always quite big so i really like that the Angled Highlighter Brush (Exclusive to this set) is smaller and more detailed. You can be so much more precise with the application.
I've actually read reviews where someone has said that the Base Shadow Brush in this set isn't as good as the originally one, Ive not tried the other one so i can't compare on which is better or worse. However, i actually really like this brush - I've been using it apply eyeshadow into the crease and because it's quite fluffy i find it works well to blend out the eyeshadow.
I'm still yet to try the Fine Liner Brush as I've not opened my gel liner to use it with just yet, but i am very excited to try it as the nib is so thin and i feel like you'll get a really precise application with it so I'm looking forward to try it out! I will report back on how i get on with it.
The set also comes with this little silver clutch and whilst it makes a nice little addition to the gift set, i probably won't use this as it's not a very practical size even the brushes don't fit into it and the box suggests using it to take the brushes on the go with you so they didn't really plan that one well.
Have you tried Real Techniques?
