Monthly Favourites & Goals | February

 photo IMG_4905_zpsxk6kleaq.jpg

These posts are one of my favourite to write; i like looking over what products I've been reaching for the most but it's also nice to share other things that I've loved too - like a book i was reading, a show i went to or something like that. It's nice to look over and see what was going on in that particular month. I don't really know where February went, i feel like I've blinked and it's just passed me by, which is quite scary but i do have quite a few favourites to share.

Nyx Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
This was one of the products that i picked out in my shopping the stash post (here), I've had it for a little while and whilst it was a product i used to enjoy - Ive just never loved it, so it's spent a lot of time at the back of my drawer. Until now, I've found myself reaching for this on a daily basis - I've been applying it all over the lid, blending it out and then applying my eyeshadow on top and because it's white it works really well at making the colours looks much brighter. It's very creamy and blends out easy and I'm really glad i picked this out.

Laura Gellar Cheek Sweep in Peach Pop
This is another rediscovery - i didn't pick this out in my shop the stash, it was just one of those days when i couldn't decide what blush to wear and randomly plucked this out of my collection and I've been wearing it everyday since. It's a cream blush and due to the packaging and dome shape you little just sweep it across the cheeks and blend it out. This is a lovely peachy pink shade, it's quite subtle so i like wearing it to just add a little flush of colour into the cheeks.

Clinique Pop Lip Colour in Nude Pop
This was one the lipsticks that came free in the Glamour magazine when Tanya Burr was on the cover. Since wearing a lot of bold lips, I've found myself on the hunt for a perfect everyday nude and so far I'm really loving using this. It's a really lovely nude pink shade - it's one of those shades that you can wear day to day but would also compliment a smokey eye really nicely too. It's quite similar to Mac's Creme Cup which is probably why i like it so much.

Merumaya Gentle Exfoliating Toner*
I've been using this most days and I'm really noticing a difference in my skin since using it. It really is a gentle toner and it doesn't leave your skin feeling tight like some toners can, it's not drying and my skin feels so much smoother. Thanks to the hyaluronic acid it contains, it also hydrates the skin to and this tone has rapidly improved a dry patch that I've had at the side of my nose for a while.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Autograph Eyeshadow Palette in Copper Gold Rush
This is such a beautiful eyeshadow quad, it has the most perfect colour combination and together you can create some really gorgeous eye looks. They're really good quality, have great colour payoff and blend together really nicely too. Not to mention, the rose gold packaging is just beautiful.

Urban Decay Naked Smokey Eyeshadow Palette
When I've not been using the Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Quad, I've been reaching for this palette. I love wearing this on nights out because the shades are a little bit bolder than the other neutral palettes. I've not quite mastered the smokey eye look but I've been getting braver and adding more darker colours into the crease and this is filled with such a beautiful range of colours and like all Urban Decay eyeshadows they're really good quality too.

Sewing Projects
I mentioned in my Sewing Project Plans (here) that i wanted to make a baby blanket. One of my very lovely friends is expecting a beautiful baby boy in the next few months and i wanted to have a go at making one. I've been working on it for a little while and I've now finished it. It's definitely not perfect but I'm so proud of myself and it's turned out much better than i expected. my friend doesn't actually know I've made it, so if you're reading this then SURPRISE! I'm so glad it's worked out well thought, because it's made me really excited to work on the other projects that I've got planned. I'll be doing a full post on the baby blanket at some point next month if you'd like to see how it turned out.

The Book Thief
This book. Wow. I watched the film ages ago and i finally decided to read the book, it's actually taken me ages to read it but it's such a brilliant book. It's not the easiest book to read but it's well worth it.

Rocky Horror Picture Show
I went to watch the Rocky Horror Picture Show at Liverpool Empire at the beginning of the month (see here) and it was incredible. I've always been a fan of the film and the soundtrack but seeing it live was just something else. The atmosphere was amazing and it was incredible seeing so many people dress up too.

Goals for March:
1. Collect more bits for my 1000 follower giveaway and post it.
2. Do a reader survey and get some feedback on my blog
3. Successfully make some Brownies.

What's some of your favourite things month?

  1. I LOVE the Nyx 'milk' pencil, its so amazing at brightening the waterline as well as working wonderfully as an eyeshadow base. Rocky horror is also one of my favourite films/musicals, I wish I could go see it in theatres as that would just be magical! You have some fabulous faves.
