Day in the Life #1 | Blogging, OITNB and American Idiot

I've never done a Day in the Life style post before; it's been written in my notebook as a post idea for ages and I've just never gotten round to doing it. These images were taken on Wednesday 22nd June, i didn't have a particular busy day but i thought I'd give it a go and see how it turns out anyways because sometimes it's nice to try something different.

Day in the Life #1 | Blogging, OITNB and American Idiot

I woke up around half 9 which is quite early for me, I'm normally a late sleeper but i was expecting a parcel and i really didn't want to miss it but i started my day with a bowl of fruit and a large cup of tea and because i was up earlier than normal i had quite a productive morning, i got some blog photos done, i edited them and also got two blog posts written and scheduled.

Whilst editing and writing i watched the last few episodes of Orange is the New Black - i won't spoil it for anyone. I knew something bad was going to happen because everyone had been posting really cryptic tweets about it so i was really curious and it also added a bit of suspense but it was all ruined for me because some idiot put a big spoiler on twitter. I was fuming, but still i can't wait for next because those last few episodes!

My H&M parcel also finally arrived - I'm going to a party this weekend and I've had a nightmare finding something to wear so this parcel was my last hope and I'm so glad i got it in time. My outfit is all sorted and I'm so so happy, i can't wait to wear it.

I chilled out for a couple more hours; finished OITNB and has some sushi for lunch - I'm a little bit addicted to the sushi in Asda, it's such a quick and easy option but it's also really filling. I was really hungry by this point too which is why i don't have a photo.

After that it was time to get ready for the evening; i had a lovely long shower and washed my hair and also caught up with the new season of Pretty Little Liars - i adore this show and even thought it's dragging out a little bit now, i can't not watch it.

My make up for the evening was pretty simple, i just did my usual neutral eye and i paired it with my current favourite lip combination which is Mac Soar Lipliner and Mac Mehr Lipstick. My outfit was also pretty casual, i wore my trusty skinny jeans and paired those with a black blouse which has a cold shoulder/cut out bit on the shoulders. I really love this shirt, it's so comfy but it looks like you've made an effort.

I don't know if I've mentioned this but in the evening i was off to see American Idiot at Liverpool Empire, I'm going to include my review of the show at the end of this post too, save doing a separate one.

I got the train there and had a very healthy tea of Mcdonalds - i am on Slimming World and this was definitely not a SW friendly meal, but i decided to treat myself and i have no regrets because i really enjoyed it. I'd highly recommend the signature collection from Mcdonalds if you haven't tried them yet, they're not like the usual burgers you get there and my personal favourite is the Spicy one.

Also, when i got home i decided to post a tweet about the show and Newton Faulker's voice (he was in the show) because i forgot just how much i love him and he liked my tweet so i had a major fangirl moment.

Onto the show itself; American Idiot is set around the time of 9/11 - it follows three individuals and the struggles they face the year after it and it uses the soundtrack of Green Day's album American Idiot. I was really excited to see the show as I'd heard so many great reviews, i also love the Green Day album and Newton Faulker was also starring in the show too.

I was actually really shocked at how many empty seats there was in the theatre, and i can't imagine how disheartening that much be to the cast but regardless they gave an incredible performance and the music, the voices and the portrayal of the songs was amazing. There was some part when Newton Faulker got out his acoustic guitar and sang, it literally gave me chills. My particular favourites where Wake Me Up When September Ends and i really loved the end when the entire cast sang Good Riddance because that is one of my favourite Green Day songs.

It's quite a hard show to follow because it's so fast paced and there isn't a massive amount of dialogue but it was amazing to watch - the only thing that i wasn't crazy about was Amelia Lily. She played Whatshername and whilst there's no denying that she can sing, i just found her character to be a little pointless - all she did was kiss everyone.

It was an incredible show nonetheless and since watching it, I've been listening to Newton Faulker and Green Day none stop. I'd highly recommend going to see it, especially if you are a fan of Green Day!

What did you think of this style of post? Have you seen American Idiot?
