With this months (or last months) Instyle Magazine you could get your hands on some products from Eyeko, there was quite a few different products to choose from. I really wanted to get my hands on the brow gel but i couldn't find it I did however, pick up two copies and got the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner and Eyeko Black Magic Drama and Curl Mascara.
First of all, before i jump into this post I'm sorry if the photos look a little over edited - i took them on a really sunny day so i kept my curtain closed slightly to avoid shadows but that left a pink tinge. I've tried to correct the colour a little bit i didn't want to go overboard with it and i don't have time to retake the photos before this post goes up.
I've not tried very many things from Eyeko so I'm glad I've had the chance to try somethings out especially because I'm pretty sure I've heard some good reviews on the liner too.
I wear eyeliner pretty much 90% of the time, so it only seemed right to pick up the Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner as i love trying new ones out and my current one is slowly started to run out. I've tried this out a few times and so far I'm really impressed, I've always preferred using felt tip style eyeliners just because i think they're so much easier to use and for me, i find them easier to control to get a better and more slicker application.
This liner as very skinny nib (as the name suggests) and it's quite firm, which is one of the things i love about using a new eyeliner. Over time, i find that the nibs lose that firmness and the more you use it, the more almost flexible it becomes - it doesn't affect the quality of the product though (I'm trying to write it in a way it doesn't sounds dodgy and having great difficulty).
This liner is really great to use and so easy to apply - it's good size to control the application but not only that, it applies pitch black! I love a really bold, black liner and this gives me exactly that, it has really great staying power as well and doesn't crack or smudge throughout the day. I'm really impressed with this eyeliner.
I wish i had as many good things to say about the Eyeko Black Magic Drama and Curl Mascara but i don't know, i just can't quite get to grips with this mascara. It's good, don't get me wrong - it curls and adds volume to the mascara and it does looks nice on but i don't know, i was just expecting a bit more. From the formula to the type of brush, i just expected it to be amazing and really wow my lashes but it was a little anti-climatic, maybe i shouldn't have expected so much.
It has quite a wet formula which can be a little smudgy if you're not careful.I'm torn at what to think about it, because it didn't give me the results i expected but at the same time, it is a nice mascara - there isn't really anything major that i can fault it on. I'm wondering whether i should leave it to dry out a little bit and come back to it because sometimes that can make all the difference to a mascara. I know what you're thinking, what a really helpful review.
