I'm sure all of you have heard of ColourPop by now, I've been toying with the idea of making an order for a while but i've never quite committed, until recently when i saw some of their Autumnal shades and I caved. It's taken them a little while but after waiting impatiently, I've finally got my hands on them and thought id share with you what i ordered.
The international shipping can work out quite expensive but at the time i ordered they had a free international shipping when you spending $50 offer going on - now i didn't spend $50 because i didn't want to order items just for the sake of it but somehow my shipping only ended up costing me $4.99 which isn't so bad. I received my order about 2 weeks after i ordered it, so waiting time wasn't all that bad either.
I did however, get hit with a customs charge, to be honest after seeing other peoples hauls i did expect to get a charge and thankfully mine was only £13.09 (£8 of which is a Royal Mail Charge) - i think it goes off either the weight or the amount of products you order, so do bear that in mind if you decided to make an order.
It wouldn't be a good ColourPop haul if i didn't pick up some of their famous Ultra Matte Lip Products now would it? To be honest, they have such an incredible range of colours that it took me a while to choose which ones to get (i filled my basket up a dozen times) but i finally settled on; More Better, Notion and Trap.
More Better is described as a deep violet wine colour, now on the website it actually looks a lot more pink toned but as you can see from the swatch it's actually deep dark red shade - which is slightly misleading on the websites behalf but i should have also googled the swatches. Thankfully, i think this shade is really pretty even though it's not what i was originally expecting.
Notion is described as a rich red violet; I'd actually say its more of a red toned brown shade. Again, had i been clever and viewed the swatches i probably wouldn't have picked this one because I'm not sure how well I'm going to suit this shade but I'm definitely still going to try it out and see what it's like.
Trap is a dusty grey beige, i have absolutely no shade like this in my collection and i have no idea how this is going to look on me or whether it's going to suit me or not but I've been wanting a nude shade like this for ages so I'm really excited to try this out - it's a lot more grey/beige toned in real life, i don't think the camera has translated the colour all that well.
The Ultra Matte Lip Products retail for $6.00 which is a really good price, it works out around about the £5 mark - i can't provide a full comment on these lip products just yet as I've not really tested them out or worn them properly yet but from initial impressions, i like the formula and they seem to dry nicely.
I wasn't really planning on getting any of the other make up products that they sell as i mostly wanted the lip products but i had a little look anyways and picked up some of their eyeshadows. They have such an impressive range of shade and I've been looking for a really nice red/burgundy eyeshadow shades that i could use throughout Autumn and i think i've found the perfect one along some other gorgeous shades. The three i got are; Beverly, Paradox and Tang.
Beverly is described as a deepened blackberry with a matte finish; I'd say this is more of a brown shade with a red brick tone to it (oh, isn't that a fancy description?) but it's so pretty. I can see where they got the blackberry reference though, because in the pan it does look quite dark but it swatches a more reddish brown toned and it's very pretty.
Paradox is the eyeshadow that caught my eye the most, it's described as a cool toned burgundy red with a satin finish. This is such a gorgeous eyeshadow and it's exactly the shade I've been looking for. As you can see from the swatch, it's quite an intense colour so i'm definitely gonna need to be careful with this but It's so gorgeous and i can't wait to create some Autumnal looks.
Tang is described as a soft dusty plum with a matte finish; I've actually used this shade the most since receiving this order - it's the perfect crease transition shade and it's also a gorgeous all over the lid. This is a shade that i never knew i needed but im so glad i picked it up. I think paired with the other two eyeshadows, I'm going to be able to create some really pretty combinations.
The eyeshadows retail for $5 which works out about £4, again such a great price and so far I'm really loving these - they have great pigmentation, blend really well and I'm really wishing I'd ordered some more shades. Overall, i am absolutely made up with the products I've ordered and i can't wait to add them to my collection and start using them all especially because they are the perfect range of shades for Autumn.
