I've been wanting to inject more of a personal feel into my blog for a very long time but it's something I've found very difficult because to be perfectly honest with you - my life just isn't all that exciting. I've decided to start up my life lately posts again but this time I'm going to post them monthly - this gives me the opportunity to tell you about my month, what I've been up to and any other kind of rambling i feel like doing.
I've not quite figured out a format for these posts yet so forgive me if they seem a little bit scatty.
I've been to see two theatre shows this month - i used to do individual review posts but I've decided to starting including them in here for now - i went to see Chicago and Blood Brothers. Both of them were brilliant; I've seen Chicago on stage before but it was about 9 years ago - it was set up different to what i remember but it was still really good. Personally, i didn't enjoy the way Roxie was portrayed they added a humorous element to her character which i didn't think worked but for me, Jessie Wallace really stole the show as Mama Morton.
As for Blood Brothers; it was absolutely incredible - you couldn't help but be drawn into the show and i loved that it was both funny yet serious and come to the end it was so emotional and many people were in tears. I'm surprised i didn't cry myself but i was so impressed with this show and would highly recommend getting tickets to see it if you get the opportunity to do so.
I've been quite lucky this month and found myself the winner of two giveaways. The first one was Twitter giveaway ran by the lovely Sally to win the Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pillow Talk. I was so excited when i found out i won because I've never tried anything from Charlotte Tilbury before and this is a product I've heard so many good things about so I'm really excited to have it in my collection.
The Second one was a Goodreads giveaway; i don't often enter the giveaways on here but when i saw the prize was a proof copy of Lindsey Kelk's new book 'We Were On a Break', i decided to give it ago because i absolutely love Lindsey Kelk, she is without a doubt one of my favourite authors and i was ecstatic when i found out I'd won. I'm currently reading the book and so far, I'm not disappointed!
I really want to go back and get some more and to get another Brown Sugar Allspice because I've already burned half of it. If you love candles, definitely get down to your local B&M and check them out, there only £2.99 and they have quite a few shades available.
I don't know if I'll so this every month but here's a random selection of photos that from this past month mostly from nights out and other special occasions like a Christening and a house-warming party.
I don't have a great deal planned for October but i do have another two theatre shows coming up and it's also Halloween which I'm very excited for - I've had my costume planned since like April/May and i bought it over a month ago. I'm so prepared this year as i normally plan my costume for months in advance but always end up leaving it til last minute to actually buy anything!
Are you excited for Halloween?
