These two lip products were the result of an impromptu trip to Boots on my lunch hour after deciding last minute i wanted a nude lipstick for my night out that evening. On impulse, i picked up two of the Sleek Matte Me Ultra Smooth Matte Lip Creams.
I'd heard so many great things about the Sleek Matte Me Ultra Smooth Matte Lip Creams that it was the first stand i look at when looking for a new lip product and i think i picked these two out in less than 30 seconds. Impulsive? Yes. Worth It? Definitely.
The first shade i picked up was Birthday Suit - I've seen it do the rounds in blog posts so it was immediately the first lip product i thought of for a nude lip. It's a classic nude shade that is consider a dupe for the Kylie Lip Kit - i don't own any of them so i can't be sure but i have read on different site that it's a dupe for both Dolce K and Candy K? On me i find the nude has a slight orange tone to it, i don't know if it's affected by my own lip colour but once it dries, it does settle into a lovely nude shade.
This is really easy to apply; i sometimes struggle to get a neat application with doefat applicators but this glides over the lips easily. The product settles into the lips really well, it dries quickly and has a really nice matte finish. It actually feels pleasant to wear and isn't drying at all. In terms of staying power; this lasts on me for a good few hours before it needs reapplying but even then it fades down really nicely. I feel like this is shade I'm going to get a lot of use out of this as it's so easy to wear.
The second shade i picked up is Velvet Slipper because let's face it, i just can't resist the purple/plum shades. I believe this is one of the new additions to the range and i have to say it's such a gorgeous colour - despite intending on wearing a nude lip for my night out, i actually ended up wearing this.
Velvet Slipper is deep plum toned pink and it's so pretty. I feel like the formula is different between the two lip products as i found this one to have a slightly more tacky formula - it's still very wearable but i did find this took a little while to dry. That being said, once it did dry it didn't budge at all - even through drinking all night, it stayed in place with the colour fading down slightly.
These retail for £4.99 which is a really great affordable price, they're quality matte liquid lipsticks and their is quite an impressive range of colours available now - i have my eye on Old Hollywood next!
