October Beauty Favourites

I've discovered quite a few great make up products this month and even though i fell behind on last months posts, i didn't want to miss out on sharing some of the products I've been loving.

Rimmel Sculpting Kit*
I absolutely adore this product; i wasn't too sure the first time i tried it but i fall in love with it more and more every time i use it. It's not a heavily pigmented product so if you want a full on, heavy contour then this isn't for you. It isn't something i reach for on a night out when i wear a full face of make up but for day to day use, i love it. I actually use the contour shade as more of a bronzer to warm up the face, the blush is a lovely peachy pink colour that gives a nice subtle flush to the cheeks and the subtle golden toned highlighter just finishes off the combination beautifully. I don't think this sculpting kit will be for everyone but i absolutely love it and its become an everyday staple for me.

ColourPop Super Shock Eyeshadows
I'm obsessed with these eyeshadows; i only have three so far (Tang, Beverly and Paradox) and together - they create the most beautiful combinations, the shades I've got have a really Autumn feel to them which makes me love them even more. They have great pigmentation, are really buttery and they blend together beautifully. I really wish ColourPop was much easier to get a hold of here in the UK because i really want to get my hands on more shades. I love all of these eyeshadows a lot but Tang (a soft dusty plum) is definitely proving to be my favourite - it's a amazing base and crease colour but it's also a eyeshadow i love wearing alone all over the lid.

Sleek Matte Me Ultra Smooth Lip Creams
Again, i own three shades of this lip product (Birthday Suit, Velvet Slipper and Old Hollywood) and i really like them all but you do have to be careful when applying these because if you apply too much, it ends up quite thick and sticky and that's when it becomes unpleasant to wear. I've learnt that a really thin and light layer makes all the difference (I'm discovering this to be the case with all types of liquid lipsticks) they're so pigmented and they last on the lips for ages.

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
I recently went on a Concealer binge; i was a bit fed up of the ones i was using and decided to try some others. I went into Boots armed with a list but found myself leaving with this Bourjois one (this wasn't actually on the list) and i have to say, i love it. I'm so impressed with it, it's so creamy and hydrating and it actually does a pretty good job at covering my dark circles. Its not often that I'm satisfied with concealer on my under eyes because i feel like you can still see my dark circles but i actually really like this one and I'm so glad i ignored my list and picked it up.

Make Up Gallery Pout Matters Matte Lip Colour in Latte
This purchase was entirely down to Laura - i read her post all about these matte lip products from Poundland's own brand Make Up Gallery and i decided to pick some up, for £1 it's worth the risk and i have to say - I'm so impressed with these. I was intrigued to see how well I'd suit Latte because it's a very beige toned nude but i really like it, it's so different to the type of nudes that i usually wear but it's a perfect everyday colour. They actually remind me a lot of the Collection Creme Puff Lip Creams in both formula and scent and for £1, they're an absolute bargain!

What beauty products have you been loving during the month of October?

  2. Oooh thanks for the name drop, ha! Glad I helped steer you in their direction. I am still in love with Latte, it's one of my faves! I keep meaning to try out the Matte Me lips because they look beautiful, but I always ending getting dragged toward MUA or Collection. Collection's Velvet lip creams are gorgeous!
