Mini Product Reviews #1 | Body Shop, L'Oreal & More

I don't know about you but as a blogger i have a notebook where i keep my post ideas and write down the make up products i want to review but sometimes i either never get round to posting about certain ones or i just don't have enough to say to justify a full post. So I've decided to start a new series where I'm going to round up those products and give you mini reviews on them because whilst i can't always justify a individual some of them still deserve a mention!

L'Oreal Gold Obsession Lipstick in Plum Gold
My sister got me this as part of our Advent Calendars that we made for each other and it's so pretty. It's a part of the Gold Obsession Collection that L'Oreal released and it's a stunning burgundy plum shade with a gold shimmer running through it. It has applies quite sheer which i didn't quite expect, but its really pretty and it has a satin finish - the gold shimmer isn't too noticeable and just adds a pretty tone to the lip colour. As it's a sheer finish, it makes a lot more wearable or you can build up the pigment if you want something a bit more intense but it does mean it's not quite as long lasting so it does requite a bit of maintenance but i do like it a lot.

The Body Shop Eye Colour Stick in Nevada Gold
I got this over Christmas and i was really excited to get it because i was quite into my gold eye looks and i thought this would be the perfect lazy solution - draw all over the lid, blend and your good to go. At first, it's really nice - it's really creamy, glides onto the lids really easily but then you you start to blend it out and it just spreads the shimmer/glitter and not so much the gold and it just doesn't look nice. I don't know if I'm just using this wrong but i just think it leaves the eyes look like a bit of a glittery mess and it's such a shame because i had really high hopes for this product.

Freedom Pro Studio Strobe Cream
I don't really understand this product - to me strobing or strobe creams are similar to highlighters but all the posts/videos that I've looked at of this product it's applied like a illuminator after your moisturiser. So i have tried it a few times and it does feel really lovely on, it's really soft and leaves your base really smooth ready for your foundation but i have to say it didn't really do anything. I've even tried applying it to the specific areas as you would a highlighter but it doesn't really do anything. I don't know if I've just gotten so used too used to intense highlighters but this does nothing for me. I'd still use it as a base but not for it's 'strobing' qualities.

MUA Rhapsody Palette
This is such a lovely palette; it's such good quality, great pigmentation and it has such a beautiful array of shades. It comes with 12 eyeshadows; 10 powder and 2 metallic creams. This palette is also multi purpose; you can use the eyeshadows to also line the eyes and the metallic creams can be used to highlight and accentuate facial features as well as giving the eyes a metallic finish. I've not experiment with the metallic creams quite as much but the eyeshadows i really like - there's some gorgeous plummy tones, browns, nudes and all the shades that i love to use.

Have you tried any of these products?
