April Favourites

Today's blog post was supposed to be something completely different; i had every intention of taking a break from my blog indefinitely, but then i received a really exciting email and if it's as good as it appears to be, I'd be a complete moron to waste that chance so I'm going to stick it out for a little while longer.

Ironically that email actually made me excited to blog again so I'm really hoping that it's real and someones not just pulling my leg. You may however notice, that I'm now just blogging twice a week (Thursdays & Sundays) instead of three times as i think this will take a little pressure off trying to generate post ideas as that is still something I'm still a little stuck on.

Anyways, onto my what I've been loving this month.

April Favourites

I've got quite a lot of favourites this month its quite a mixture of new and old discoveries; I'm really loving The Body Shop Insta Blur All in One Primer I've not actually mentioned this on my blog yet which is bizarre because i really like it and I've almost used this one up. It's a silicone style formula and it leaves the skin feel really smooth, it dries into the skin pretty quickly so your not left waiting for it to be absorb and it just gives you a really lovely primed and smooth base ready for your foundation.

My hands down favourite product that I've been using this month is a Cushion Foundation - now i don't know what brand this is because my sister is a part of some testing panel for Boots where they randomly send her stuff but they don't tell her the brands and this is one of the latest things she received. I've wanted to try a cushion foundation for ages so she's very kindly let me have it (i did give her something in return) and oh my god, i bloody love this foundation. I wish i knew the brand so i could recommend it to you all. It's a very lightweight almost water based foundation so it's perfect for spring/summer because it's so light. It doesn't have a massive amount of coverage but i find it's enough for me, i just add concealer on places that need a little extra help but this foundation is so easy to blend, it barely feels like your wearing anything - for me, i feel like it's that 'your skin but better' type of thing. I'm obsessed with this, it's so easy to apply and just leaves you with such a lovely, light base.

On the days i do need a little extra help I've been using the Revlon Colour Stay Concealer it's a lovely, creamy concealer with a medium coverage. I bought this on a whim because i couldn't find the Bourjois Radiance Reveal concealer in my shade and i was scraping the tube so i just picked this up and hoped for the best and i do actually quite like it. It has quite a creamy formula so it feels nice on and blends into the skin really easily. I used this on both under my eyes and my blemishes and it seems to work pretty well with both and lasts pretty well too.

April Favourites

I've been using two eyeshadow palettes this month; i started out the month using my Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette - this is my least used Naked palette so i made more of a conscious effort to use it, it's filled with pink/rosy toned nudes (the photo doesn't do it justice) which i think is why i use it least because I'm always worried I'll just look like i have an infection but i found a lovely mauvy pink combination that i really enjoyed wearing - i love all my Naked Palettes, i think they're such great quality and well worth the money. Id still be using this palette now but i saw someone talk about their Zoeva Cocoa Blend Palette and it made me want to get mine out and have a play which i did and i remember just how much i loved it. It's filled with a lovely selection of chocolately toned eye shadows and it's just beautiful. Similar to my Naked 3, i found a lovely peachy golden combination that i really enjoyed wearing. It's been nice to experiment a little more with eyeshadow because i normally always stick to browns and beiges but with these palettes, I've been adding other tones in and it's been a lot of fun.

I've talked about the Technic Mega Lash Mascara* before and it just seems to be getting better the more i use it - it does still smudge onto my eyelids so I'm beginning to think it's not just me being unable to handle the giant brush but i honestly don't care because i absolutely love the way this makes my lashes look. It's such a cheap mascara and it's gives you really long, separated lashes and i actually think i prefer this over some of my more expensive mascaras.

Whilst in Primark i recently picked up the P.S... Eyeliner in Nude it was part of a duo, you got a white eyeliner too both for £1 but I've only been using the nude one and it's actually really good. I didn't really expect too much from it but i really missed having a nude eyeliner so decided to give it a go anyways - it's a really creamy eyeliner, it glides on really easily and as it's nude it gives you that lovely wide eyed, wide awake look. I've not really paid attention to how long it lasts because it's nude you don't really notice any smudging or anything like that but for £1, i think this is great and I've really been enjoying having a nude liner back in my collection.

I've not really been wearing lipstick all that much this month expect on a few occasions; I've mostly been enjoying wearing minimal make up and I've actually just been wearing The Body Shop Frosted Berries Lip Balm most days. It smells amazing and it feels really moisturising on - this is from a Christmas range thought so i don't know if it's still available.

The last beauty product i wanted to mention is the Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Treatment Primer - i hate washing/drying my hair but if i leave it to air dry it i end up looking like Hagrid because it just goes really big and frizzy and not in a good way but when i do dry my hair, it takes me a while because i have long thick hair so it's catch 22. I mix it up between drying it and leaving it to air dry but when i do dry it myself I've really been liking this Redken hair product because not only does it have heat protection mixed into it but it reduces drying time - don't ask me the logistics of how it works because i don't have a clue but i definitely feel like it doesn't take quite as long so i love it. The treatment itself also nourishes and hydrates the hair so it's an all round winner.

Now, no favourites would be complete this month if it didn't include Thirteen Reasons Why - I've been awaiting Thirteen Reasons Why for years, ever since i first read the book and it did not disappoint. It's very very intense and i honestly found it so draining to watch - especially the last episode, i almost felt like it wore me out after watching it and I've never had a TV show make me feel that way. If you are something who is quite sensitive or has anxiety related issues be wary of watching this, obviously everyone is different but i think some people i know who suffer from anxiety that i think this would affect quite a lot and would find this really hard to watch so just be wary.

So those are my April Favourites, what have you been loving this month?
