Urban Decay Naked Palettes | Choosing the Right Palette for You

Urban Decay Naked Palettes | Choosing the Right Palette for You

If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen my Insta story sharing with you my exciting delivery from Urban Decay; they very kindly sent me the first four Naked Palettes - trust me, i was squealing when i saw it. I'm actually fortunate enough to already own all the Naked Palettes so I've swapped them out for my shiny new ones and I'm passing my old ones onto family and friends!

Now I'm sure many of you already own the Naked Palettes or are already aware of them but i was talking one of my friends recently who was looking at getting one of the palettes as a present but as someone who isn't as interested in make up she was very overwhelmed by the choices and the different palettes available so it gave me the idea for this post - so if you are someone who is looking to get a Naked Palette as a present or even just treat yourself to a one but aren't sure which one to choose, i hope this helps you!

Urban Decay Naked Palettes | Choosing the Right Palette for You

Out of all the palettes i own, my Urban Decay Naked Palettes are my absolute favourite - if i had to get rid of all my palettes and only keep these, i could quite happily do that. The eyeshadows are stunning; they're pigmented, they blend beautifully and have the most gorgeous range of shades. They are expensive - they retail for around £39.50 but personally i think these palettes are worth the money, It's a worthwhile investment and i love them all. Obviously, you do not need to own them all like i do but i have and would happily pay that amount for these palettes as they do no disappoint.

Naked One*
The original Naked Palette contains 12 warm toned nudes with a variety of shimmer and matte finishes. This is an extremely wearable palette as you can create a wide variety of looks for both day and nights, ranging from natural to bold and sultry. The packaging of this isn't my favourite due to the velvet feel of it but i adore the eyeshadows inside - I'd probably go as far as saying this is my personal favourite Naked Palette. My favourite shades are Sin, Buck, Dark Horse and Toasted.

Naked Two*
The Naked Two Palette contains 12 cooled toned nudes with a variety of shimmer and matte finishes. Like the Naked One, it's a very versatile palette - wearable for both and nights and gives you the option to create so many natural and bold looks. It's very similar to the Naked One, the main difference being that the nude shades are more cool toned and are more on the grey/silver side but I like this palette a lot and get so much use out of it - my favourite shades are Half Baked, Booty Call, YDK and Busted.

Naked Three*
The Naked Three palette contains 12 rose toned nudes with a variety of shimmer and matte finishes - this is definitely where the palettes start to go a little more diverse (does the make sense?) These eyeshadows are beautiful but i definitely find rose/pink toned eyeshadows aren't always loved by everyone. I will hold my hands up and say that this is probably the palette i use the least but i do fall in love with it every time i use it, because you can create some really stunning make eye looks. My favourite shades are Burnout, Limit and Nooner.

Naked Smokey*
The Naked Smokey Palette contains 12 smokey toned nudes with a variety of shimmer and matte finishes. I have heard on the grapevine that this palette might be being discontinued so if it looks like something you may be interested in, then that's something to bear in mind because i don't know when that will be happening. This palette has everything you need to create the perfect smokey eye; I'm a novice when it comes to smokey eyes but thanks to a few you tube tutorials and this palette I've found a way to create a proper black smokey eye without looking like a panda.

The packaging of this palette is my favourite; i love the casing and the marble detailing, it's stunning. Personally, i wouldn't say this is an everyday palette unless you like to wear smokey eyes everyday but for me, it's perfect for nights out and special occasions. My favourite shades are Armor, Dagger, Black Market and Smoulder.

Naked Heat*
The Naked Heat Palette contains 12 very orange/warm toned nudes with a variety of shimmer and matte finishes. This palette is beautiful and filled with such a stunning range of shades - personally, i don't think this palette will be for everyone as it's quite a bold palette. I love this palette a lot but it's not something i feel i could wear daily, like the Naked Smokey this is something I save for nights out and special occasions  or when i want something a bit more bold and out there. Obviously, some people will wear bold eyes for day to day so this may just be the one for you but for my personal tastes i find it hard to create a neutral day to day look, it always ends up super bold! Despite that this palette is beautiful and very much worth the hype, my favourite shades are Sauced, Lumbre, and En Fuego.

So i really hope this post was helpful; whether your deciding what palette you want to invest in for yourself or if your buying one for a present. I think I've said it enough throughout this post but i absolutely love these palettes - i own, love and use them all - i bought them before i was sent them, so i think that shows just how much i love them too. They're excellent and i honestly couldn't recommend them enough.

  1. Such an exciting delivery. The UD Naked palettes are some of my most used palettes. I just love the quality. It is so cool that they keep adding to the line. I wonder what variety will be next
