Everyday Make Up Picks

Everyday Make Up Picks

I actually had a different post planned for today but i was unable to get the lip swatch photos i needed because my face betrayed me - so instead, i thought I'd share my current everyday make up picks with you.
If you're wondering how my face betrayed me - i applied a spot treatment over night and woke up with a blistered chin, which then got infected and is now (fingers crossed) on the mend. It's been itchy and sore, and it's just not very pleasant to look at and i didn't really fancy shoving a camera in my face nor did i think you'd want to look at it either.

Everyday Make Up Picks

So onto my everyday make up picks... these are the products that i tend to wear on a daily basis; either for work, if I'm running errands or if i just want to wear make up but I want something really basic and easy.

Generally for day to day, i don't always wear foundation - instead, i concentrate more on concealer and at the moment I'm using the Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Concealer. I apply this under my eyes and on any blemishes i have, it's a nice concealer and it works pretty well but I've not had it very long and it's already starting to run out which is annoying but i am liking wearing it for day to day. I always powder my concealer to set it in place and to remove any shine, at the moment I'm using the Beauty UK Compact Face Powder.

The next two products aren't essential in my routine but i really like wearing them to add a little bit of dimension to my face. I warm my skin up with my Nars Laguna Bronzer, then i add a little highlighter to the cheekbones with the So Susan Statement Skin - i don't go too over the top with either of these products but together they just add a little something and help enhance the skin.

Brows are a must for me - if i can only do one step in my routine this is the one i make the time for as i just feel unfinished if i don't do them. For everyday, i like to fill my brows in with the Natural Collection Brow Pencil*, it's so easy to use and gives a really nice, natural full looking brow.

Eyeshadow differs depending on how much time i have or generally what mood I'm in but recently I've mostly been using the Maybelline Colour Tattoo Creamy Matte in Creme D'Rose, i wear it all over the lid and blend it out - it's a matte cream eyeshadow with a subtle tone of pink to it and it just evens out the skin tone and brightens up the eye. Normally, If i have time i do line my eyes but recently I've not actually been wearing it day to day.

I tend to rotate between a few mascaras; at the moment it's the Buxom Lash Mascara, Essence Get Big Lashes Mascara* and Urban Decay Troublemaker Mascara* - i chop and change between these three, there's no rhyme or reason between which I'll pick on each particular day it's just whichever one I grab first.

I don't really wear lipstick if I'm not really doing much so for the most part i just keep my lips moisturised and wear a lip balm - at the moment, I'm mostly using the Body Shop Frozen Berries Lip Balm, Nivea Essential Care or one of my Burt's Bees Lip Balms.

So yeah, i absolutely love wearing a full face of make up but for general day to day, i just keep it really simple.
