Current Skincare Routine

I can be quite lazy when it comes to skincare; I always try my hardest to get into a routine of sorts but I always end up over complicating it and as a result, I get bored. I've tried many different products but I feel like I've found a routine that works for me and so far, I've actually stuck with it for the past few months.

Morning Routine

Biore Baking Soda Pore Cleanser
This cleanser is an exfoliator that's gentle enough for daily use - it exfoliates dry, flaky skin and deep cleans without removing the skin's natural moisture. It's also supposed to improve the appearance of pores and skin texture. I bought this without reading too much about it but something that will deep clean my skin and improve the appearance of pores sounded perfect to me - my pores have become more noticeable to me so I wanted something that would tackle that as well. I really like this cleanser; I feel like it really cleans my skin and it feels so much smoother, some pores are still visible but I can see a improvement in them. I actually really enjoy applying it and massaging it into the skin, it lathers up really nicely and i just really enjoy this product.

Pro Aura Vitamin C Serum Hyaluronic Acid with Astaxanthin*
This serum has a lot of bold claims - it's hydrating, stimulate collagen to reduce wrinkles, reduces blemishes and dark circles all the while brightening up dull, tired skin (and that's only some of the claims) but I love using this serum, it leaves my skin feeling healthy and hydrated, it's looks brighter and just feels really good. I've actually almost finished this bottle which speaks volumes about how much I like it because normally I'd have gotten bored by now. It is quite pricey so sadly I won't be purchasing this just yet but I do have The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid to take its place in the meantime.

Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser
This has been one of my go to moisturisers for years; I always come back to it and over these past few months I've realised just how much both me and my skin love it. It's really lightweight and it absorbs into the skin really nicely so you don't have to wait ages for it to sink in. It's really affordable and my skin just feels good after i use it.

The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
I don't particularly love this eye serum; don't get me wrong it's a nice product but I just don't find it does a lot for me but it was £5.80 so I'm going to use it up anyway. It's a serum that you can use both night and day and is designed to reduce the look of puffy eyes and dark circles. I wanted it mostly to reduce my dark circles but I don't feel like it's does anything for me - I have actually read a lot of review from people saying it works well at reducing puffy eyes though but I don't really get puffy eyes so i don't see a difference. It does have quite a cool formula which feels really nice and refreshing on the eyes.

Night Routine
My night time routine is exactly the same as the morning routine except I use an extra product to remove my make up - ideally, this would be Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser but I've currently ran out of it so at the moment I'm using an oil cleanser.

Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Cleansing Oil
As a cleansing oil this works really well, it melts away my make up even stubborn make up like mascara and eyeliner so easily and it makes removing my make up so quick and easy! However, this is very overpriced - it retails for about £6.99 and its such a small bottle. I actually bought this on offer for half price which I was still a bit hesitant to pay but I wanted a oil make up remover and this was the cheapest I could find.

Other Products I Use
These are the products I try to use about once a week - I do also like to use face masks but I swap and change between different ones so it's not really worth listing them all but I do like sheet masks and the Origins Face Masks.

The Body Shop Seaweed Pore Cleansing Exfoliator
I try to use a face scrub once a week to really give my skin a good clean. This is a soap free, gel based cleanser that has little jojoba beads which helps to deep cleanse and remove any dead skin. It's a really nice to use and a gentle exfoliator on the skin, everytime i use this it juust leaves my skin feeling smooth.

The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
I've only used this a handful of times because truth be told it scares me. It's designed to give the skin a deeper exfoliation to fight blemishes and improve the skin's radiance - it's a very intimidating product. I mean c'mon it's bright red, and because it's a peeling acid it has quite strict instructions; use in the PM (ideally), don't use it more than twice a week, don't leave it on longer than 10 minutes, don't use it on wet skin, limit Sun exposure for the week afterwards and you MUST use a SPF face cream as it contains alpha hydroxy acid which lowers your skin's sensitivity to the Sun. So I tend to limit my use of this because it scares me a little bit, that being said on the occasions that I have used it, my skin feels amazing and fresh faced - it does tingle when you wear it, you can really feel the acid exfoliating the skin and it leaves my skin feeling so smooth and soft.

Body Care
As well as improving my effort with my facial skincare routine, I've really been trying to work on moisturising and looking after the rest of my skin too! I'm on the hunt for a good body scrub at the moment as I've ran out so feel free to leave me recommendations but I thought I'd share the other products I've been using on my skin anyway.

Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Lotion
I absolutely adore this lotion; I'm already on my second bottle of it. It's lightweight lotion and it absorbs into the skin nice and quickly so there is no waiting around for it dry. It leaves my skin feels lovely and smooth and i find myself applying this both morning and night where as i never used to apply body moisturiser consistently. Not to mention it smells really nice, normally cocoa isn't my kind of scent but this is lovely and sweet without being too sickly.

Lush Sleepy Moisturiser
I'm not sure if this really counts because even though it's a moisturiser, i use it more for the relaxing scent than it's moisturising properties but i thought I'd include it anyways. It is a nice moisturiser - i apply this every night, i mostly apply it to my arms, chest and the back of my neck, its quite thick but also absorbs into the skin pretty easily. It smells of lavender and oatmeal so it's really calming and helps you feel more relaxed.

So those are the product I'm currently using in my skincare routine - I'm really content with it and apart from the odd blemishes, i feel like my skin is in a good way. It feels smooth, healthy and hydrated.
