Illamasqua Lip Lure In Bloom

Illamasqua Lip Lure In Bloom

This Illamasqua Lip Lure was a complete impulse buy in the Black Friday Sales; i had no idea that they even existed until someone tweeted about Illamasqua having 70% off, then i saw the price reduction and all of a sudden it had to be mine - so naturally, i ordered it.

I really need to work on my impulse buys because whilst it was a bloody good reduction in the price, i didn't save any money because i still bought something i really didn't need. I opted for the shade Bloom - a pretty nude pink shade that justified my impulsive purchase because it's a shade i'll wear everyday.

It is actually a beautiful colour; after ordering it i did look at a few swatches online and some showed it to be quite a light nude pink but it's actually a lot darker. It's still a beautiful colour and it is a wearable everyday shade but i was expecting something a bit lighter and more on the nude side. I'd actually say this shade is pretty similar to Lovesick by Kat Von D.

They're long lasting, non drying and very pigmented and they have a satin style finish (not quite glossy/not quite matte - somewhere in between)  I do like that it's not a matte finish because whilst i do love a matte lip, it's nice to try something a little different. They have quite a creamy formula and feel comfortable on the lips.

I've actually read quite a few reviews of people slating the packaging of these but i actually quite like it; it has plain black casing with the Illamasqua logo - it's nice and simple. It's quite a cute compact size too, so it wouldn't take up too much room in your handbag or make up bag.

The Illamasqua Lip Lures actually retail for £20 but i got this for £6, I'm kind of hoping you can see why i got a bit carried away in ordering one with that price drop. Personally, I wouldn't pay £20 for one of these, it's a lovely lipstick but i just don't think it's worth that much. It's a lipstick that i will get wear out of so I've not completely wasted my money but i also feel like i wouldn't notice too much if i misplaced it.
