Best of | 2017 Favourites

Yearly favourites are some of my favourite posts to read; i love knowing what products and things people have loved so much it's made the post - especially beauty favourites, it's such a testament to a product if you loved it so much it's made the yearly favourites especially if you are anything like me, i try a heck of a lot of products. I've also included a few other random favourites like life things, songs and even some youtubers I've really enjoyed watching.

Best of | 2017 Favourites

The Ordinary High Spreadability Primer
I'm obsessed with this primer - not only does it have a pipette applicator (which i love) but it's so good. It has such a lightweight and silky formula and it just leaves you skin feeling so smooth, it has a slight blurring effect on the skin and it just gives you the perfect base for the rest of your make up and the best part - it's super affordable!

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
I've raved about this foundation in so many posts by now that it's probably no surprise that I've included it in this one. For me, this is the best foundation I've ever used; It's a medium coverage that feels really nice and light on the skin, it blends out beautifully and it just gives me the most natural yet flawless base. I adore how this makes my skin look and i just couldn't imagine not having it in my collection now.

Bourjois Radiance Reveal Concealer
I first bought this on a complete whim and it's one of the best high street concealers that I've tried - so much so, that I've repurchased it. I'm quite fussy with concealers and I'm constantly trying new ones to try and find that perfect one and so far this is the best ive tried. It's a really lightweight concealer but it offrs enough coverage to cover your under eyes, i don't like to use it on blemishes as it's quite a brightening concealer but i love how moisturising it feels and it's perfect for brightening up under your eyes.

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara*
I was lucky enough to receive this from Influenster a little while ago and it's such a good mascara; It makes my lashes look so long, it adds volume and leaves my lashes looking separated and full. I've not found it to smudge or flake on me and it lasts really well. It is very expensive and not something I'll be able to constantly repurchase but it'll definitely be a nice little treat to myself every now and again.

Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette
I adore this little trio and i constantly find myself going back to it; it's perfect for everyday wear because you can add subtle definition to your face without it being too intense. It comes with a highlighter (subtle golden champagne), contour (soft brown tone) and blush shades (a pink coral) and i actually love all three products. The contour works really well at defining the face and because it's not heavily pigmented it's nice and subtle, i also really like using this as a bronzer to warm up my face. The coral/pink toned blush gives the skin a lovely yet subtle flush of colour to the skin and the highlighter gives a really lovely glow to the cheeks. The three products compliment each other so well, it's such a handy size with three product in one and it's super affordable too.

Nars Laguna Bronzer
I only own Laguna Bronzer in this Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette with some other cheek products but i mostly only use the bronzer - if I'm not using the Rimmel trio, I'm most likely using this. Laguna bronzer is nothing like i expected; i thought it'd end up being quite heavy and muddy on me but it's not as heavily pigmented as i expected which i actually really like. I love wearing bronzer but i like one that i can build up to whatever intensity i want and this allows me to do that. It such a gorgeous bronzer, it blends into the skin beautifully and it gives the skin such a lovely sunkissed glow.

Studio 10 Beauty Visible Lift Face Definer*
I'm pretty sure this has been in my past three yearly favourites; it is hands down my holy grail contour, i don't use the blush or highlight in the palette but the contour powder is the best i've personally tried and i still love it just as much now as when i first tried it. I've hit pan on it now, which makes me kind of sad as it's pretty pricey (definitely going to repurchase it though). I mostly only use this for nights out, when i'm wearing a full face of make up and going all out. It's the perfect product for contouring as it's slightly more grey toned which i find really helps to create shadows and definition around the face - it blends out really nicely so it looks more natural and your not left with a harsh contour.

MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter in Pearlescent
I've used and loved a lot of highlighters this year that it was a struggle choosing which one is my favourite but i feel like the MUA Pearlescent highlighter is the one i always got the most excited about wearing. I love the MUA highlighters anyway; as they are so good - considering how cheap they are, the quality and intensity of them is amazing. They blend into the skin beautifully and they give you such an intense glow - i love Pearlescent because eve though it looks white, it actually has a iridescent blue tone to it and it's so unusual and beautiful on the skin.

Milani Amore Matte Lip Cream in Adorable*
I've lived in matte liquid lipsticks for the majority of the year and my go to nude has been Adorable by Milani; it's a brown toned pink and it's such an easy colour to wear that compliments most make up looks. It has a nice creamy formula, dries down matte and is really comfortable to wear on the lips. It's one of those fail safe lipsticks that i know i can rely on and i know it'll suit 99% of the make up looks i wear.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Exorcism
If I'm not wearing a nude lip; then my other go to is this Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Exorcism. I think the formula of these liquid lipsticks are my favourite - they're so creamy and comfortable to wear and really easy to apply.  Exorcism is a blackberry/burgundy plum shade and it's gorgeous - this is my favourite kind of lip colour to wear, it's so bold and intense and i personally feel like i suit this shade really well.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray*
Until trying the Urban Decay Setting Spray, i was pretty sceptical and found most finishing sprays did very little for me but Urban Decay's offering is amazing. I only use this on nights out/special occasions as i don't want to waste it for general day to day make up but i can every time i use this my make up stays put and it more or less looks just a good as when i first applied it.I can see a big difference in my make up when i don't use this.

Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Lotion
It's very rare that a body lotion excites me but i randomly discovere the Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Lotion this year and i love, I've even repurchased it in a much bigger bottle. I don't know what it is about this but i actively find myself making the effort to moisturise more whereas before i was pretty lazy with it. It leaves my skin feel so soft and it absorbs into the skin easily so im not waiting around for it to skin and it also smells incredible. Cocoa scents aren't usually my favourite, sometimes they can be far too sickly but this smells so good.

False Eyelashes
I don't have a particular brand to include here but i just wanted to give a mention to false eyelashes in general - i've always loved false eyelashes but this past year I've become one of those people who just feels unfinished if i don't wear them (on nights out/special occasions not day to day) they just make such a difference to your make up and i feel like I've really gotten to grips with applying them well. I really like lashes from Kiss Lashes, Girls With Attitude, Eylene, Eylure to name a few  - they're super affordable and i'm able to get multiple uses out of them too so i really get my monies worth.

Theatre Shows
I've been really fortunate to watch a lot of theatre shows throughout 2017 and that makes me so happy. I love the theatre; it's one of my happy places and i just love everything about it. I'm really hoping to see many more throughout 2018.

Getting My Three Stone Award
I've always had issues with my weight and always struggled to lose it, getting my 3 stone award from Slimming World was a real highlight for me. I still feel like i have a way to go on my journey but I'm so proud of myself.

2017 has been a very karaoke filled year. I love it - me and my friends go and sing karaoke weekly and we have an absolute ball. I absolutely love my weekly nights out; its not a heavy night and we don't go out with the intention of getting drunk, we just have a few drinks, sing lots and catch up with friends.

Bruno Mars Tour
I went to see Bruno Mars at the MEN back at the start of May and he was phenomenal. It's the second time I've seen him and he's honestly incredible live - he really puts on a show and he keeps his energy up from start to finish. Id highly recommend getting tickets to one of his tours if you get the chance, you will not be disappointed.

I started journalling this year; I've had a bullet journal for the past few years but I've now started a different one that i just write anything and everything in it. It's a place to get down all my thoughts and Ive found it so helpful.

Les Mis & London
I've mentioned this so much already but there's no way i could do a 2017 favourites and not include this. My trip to London was so good and finally getting to see Les Mis on stage was one of the biggest highlights of my year. It was incredible and I'm already pining to go and see it again.

Halloween - Dressing Up as Bellatrix LeStrange
My favourite night out of the year and this year, i finally dressed up as Bellatrix LeStrange. I was so proud of my costume and it was just a really good night out in general, even though i did get a bit drunk and lose my wand.
