I've been a bit hit and miss with reading this month, there has been days when I've barely been able to put my book down and then some weeks I've not even picked my book up. I've managed to get through 4 books this month which I'm really happy about and if you read my last post you'll know that I've set myself a little challenge to get through 10 books during Spring.

Wolves and Paths by Holly Hook
This is the second book in the Twisted Fairy tales series and again, i enjoyed reading this. It follows Red, who has spent her entire life under her grandmothers oppressive thumb but when her boyfriend Tate wants to take her to Disney World she can't help but break the rules to make it happen. However, Red soon realises that maybe her Grandmother was right to warn her against the place because the park is a gateway to another dimension; Fable, where fairy tales are real and now her grandmother has been taken captive by an evil magician named Alric. It's really interesting reading a different take on the traditional fairy tales that I'm used to, this one is based on Little Red Riding Hood and i enjoyed reading it.

Frogs and Princes by Holly Hook
The third book in the Twisted Fairy tales series and i don't know why but i really thought this one would be my favourite one as it's based on the Princess and the Frog. It follows Candice, who has never liked being the rich girl in town and there's one more thing that drives her up the wall: she can hear frogs talking, a fact she's had to hide since she was a young girl but when a frog begs her to save him from the dissection table in biology class, she can't help but step in. But her act of kindness attracts the anger of Shorty, who seems to have it out for this particular frog. When she tries to release the frog in a pond, she and Shorty are sucked into a world called Fable, where the fairy tales are real and magic exists. I just didn't enjoy this one as much as the others, it was still a twist on the classic fairytale but i didn't find this one as interesting and after a while it got a little repetitive and i found myself losing interest in reading it.

Love to Hate You by Jo Watson
This is a very cheesy chick lit/romance book and i really like it. It follows Sera, who is usually a good girl except for one wild night in the backseat of a strangers car - but Sera soon has to face her one wild night when that stranger turns out to be her new boss and he interested in more than just the one night. As you can imagine, this story is a bit cheesy and a bit predictable but i really enjoyed it, it was so easy to read and it was the perfect distraction that required very little thinking.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
This book was phenomenal; i honestly can't express how good i thought this was and i can't recommend this enough. It follows Sixteen year old Starr who lives in two worlds: the poor neighbourhood where she was born and raised and her posh high school in the suburbs. The uneasy balance between them is shattered when Starr is the only witness to the fatal shooting of her unarmed best friend, Khalil, by a police officer. It's mostly about the aftermath of it all and how shes has to deal with and basically, the repercussions that may happen if she chooses to speak out about it and also what could happen if she doesn't. I think this is a book that everyone should read at least once, the issue it covers is something that is very relevant today and i feel like this book represents approaches it. I don't have a single bad this to say about this book, i enjoyed it so much - it was a stunning read and i highly recommend it.
