I have been horrendous at keeping to my blog schedule as of late. I've just been struggling to manage my time and to find the motivation when i do have the time but I'm back with another reading update. June was a pretty lousy month for reading; I've been bingeing on Netflix quite a lot recently (maybe I'll do a post?) so i only managed to get through 2 books.

Six Steps to a Girl by Sophie McKenzie
I've read a few of Sophie McKenzie's books before and i quite enjoy her writing style. This book follows Luke who's father has just died and whilst at the funeral he spots the most beautiful girl - Eve, but she already has a boyfriend. Desperate to win her over - Ryan teaches Luke his 'Six Steps' method, guaranteed success with any girl. This book is a little juvenile but it was a cute, easy read.
Rating: 3/5

Mistress of all Evil by Serena Valentino
This book is about Maleficent; it follows her story and what led her to become the evil villain that she's known to be. I really wanted to love this book but i was a bit lost with what was going on...I have since discovered that this isn't a standalone book and is number 4 in a series and that it makes more sense to read them in order so obviously i made an error there. I still didn't love the way it was written because each chapter jumped from different perspectives and different time points so it was a bit confusing at times. The story was interesting but the style of writing wasn't for me.

A little while ago, i set myself a Spring Reading Challenge - i wanted to read 10 books in the 9 weeks that was left of Spring. Now i didn't stick to the original TBR that i set myself which i did really want to but my lovely friends borrowed me a ton of books and i wanted to work my way through as many of those as possible first. I also only managed to read 9 books but I'm still really happy with that. The books i read are:

1. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
2. One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus
3. Disconnected by Sherry Ashworth
4. All We Know of Love is Nora Raleigh Baskin
5. Something Wicked by Sherry Ashworth
6. All That She Can See by Carrie Hope Fletcher
7. New Girl by Paid Harbison
8. Six Steps to a Girl by Sophie McKenzie
9. Mistress of All Evil by Serena Valentino

I have decided that I'm going to try and make this a seasonal challenge. As even though i technically failed it still gave my goodreads target a good boost. I will be doing a post soon on the books I'm hoping to get to reading during the Summer season.
